Poor Titus, he's a decent wrestler and a seemingly great guy and he'll go down in history for this and sliding through the apron in Saudi Arabia that one time.
I feel like that whole Titus O'Neill incident was a rare look into why wrestler's walk on eggshells backstage. Titus just tapped his boss on the shoulder and he flips the fuck out and afterward probably had to be talked out of firing him.
Dude somebody called you out for stating that Titus simply "tapped" Vince's shoulder, which is factually incorrect. Why don't you respond to somebody calling out your inaccuracy?
Because the owner of a company needs to be lectured by his employees. If you were the owner, you would have done a punitive measure and if you were the employee, you would hold your tongue. To say you would do otherwise is just virtue signaling, plain and simple. If you’re not happy with how the owner of the company conducts themselves , you can find another company where you like that owner’s value system or your boss can make that decision for you.
After hearing stories from wrestlers that left WWE over the past 7 years, and the way they talked about WWE doctors, I kind of think maybe those doctors are being told by higher ups in the company what to do
To be fair with the Edge return, he was confident of a ring return before AEW contacted him I think. So it would make since WWE would make him an offer
I'm convinced the only reason the WWE doctor wouldn't clear Bryan was under orders from McMahon - and not for Bryan's health. Vince didn't want Bryan taking attention away from Reigns, so effectively forced him to retire. Of course - as Solomonster alludes to - when Bryan's contract was up and he revealed he'd wrestle elsewhere, McMahon changed his tune...
In hindsight, Titus did overstep. Would YOU stop the person who owns the place you work at physically? People acting offended by Vince’s reaction are virtue signaling.
I know people don’t like when you say this, but I don’t blame Vince for being mad. I don’t care what kind of relationship you have with your boss, there’s a time and place for this sort of thing. Yanking your boss after a heartfelt retirement speech from one of your most respected peers in your profession is just not a good idea. Now do I think Vince overreacted a bit? Yes. Was Titus dumb to do what he did when he did it? Yes.
I believe Titus was trying to get Vince to let Stephanie pass first. But the way he grabbed Vince was from behind and would have totally taken him by surprise, it looked like it jolted him. That being said, I do think the response was excessive. Firing him would have been insane. If you compare the punishment to wellness policy violations it does seem a bit much. But at least he went down from 90 days to 60, even if that may have been a bit strict too.
6:00 Dixie Carter should be ashamed of herself. For a person to get injured that seriously, you promise to take care of him and then fire him immediately is bad enough. But then to go and ask that person to concoct a fake story of a joint statement of amicable release for other ventures is below the belt
If someone can find a reason to like Dixie Carter, please tell me what it is? She might be the easiest person to have in the history of the wrestling business, and think about what kind of territory that takes in.
A lot of people who wrestled for her speak about her being an extremely kind person. Even people who hated working for her consistently speak of her as a high quality human being. The issue for her more often than not was that she never put her foot down and let people take advantage of her. She also had an ego issue in her desire to be a Vince McMahon to the detriment of her company. But despite all of her clear faults in running her business you consistently hear about her being a kind person so clearly that would lead to lots of people liking her as a person. Someone may be a good human but a bad boss. She seems like a prime example of that.
They not gonna let him go easily. He might not be the performer Aj Styles or Seth Rollins is but what he does outside the ring gets the company good press. He's a public relations dream, a good will ambassador for the company and help raises a lot of money for Charities like the Potter House and Make a Wish Foundation. The guy is an absolute Teddy Bear and a truly awesome human being. The only reason why Wwe would put a single title on him is that they wouldn't be able to figure how to market him without people turning up their noses at "pushing the black guy".
Knowing what Survivor Series has become now, Vince really should've gone through with killing it off. Survivor Series now is just Bragging Rights 2.0, with zero stakes and doesn't mean jackshit when guys keep switching brands. Vince was right, Survivor Series has outlasted its usage, it IS obsolete. It really is the worst of the big 4 PPVs.
The difference between Edge and Bryan both working creative, one wants to push others, while the other wants to push himself. I'll let you guess who is who 🤔
