Listening to this after 5 years! This is the most timeless, classic, ethereal music I've ever heard! One of the finest performances ever made in all aspects.
Tears stream down my face each time I hear this song and i never tire of hearing this song! Fantastic singing by Sri TMK and hats off to Smt Subalakshmi and the other accompanists!
It is so delightful when TMK breaks into kalpanaswarams beginning 5:08! Even more delightful is the camaraderie between TMK and Arunprakash at 6:48. Arunprakash skillfully understands the split second gap offered by TMK to fill it with beautifully!! You can actually see TMK smiling at 6:52 acknowledging it.
What an amazing team work! TMK brings out the innate bhava of Kanakadasa effortlessly. Arun and Guru and Rithvik enjoy the rendition by admiring TMK with their full smiles. The other thamburist performs almost a Kathakali simultaneously by swaying her head with full smiles and with twinkling eyes. Hats off, TMK Sir! You render the krithi enjoying yourself and make us enjoy it admiringly. While listening You, for us You are a genius from the gurukulam of Late Sri Semangudi Aiyar sans Your politics and antics.
Can see the smiles in the face of the co-musicians also while playing for Krishna sir. Not only does he enjoys singing, it is automatically passed on to others!!!
When i listen to this song..its like ice cubes are falling from a cliff and melting away. Countless times i have heard this song and each time it brings a great energy. Beautiful team...
If anyone listen to this with full concentration and understanding of the meaning, bhakti will develop by itself... such a wonderful rendition and the positive energy of the accompanying artists especially the violinist adds to the enjoyment of he song even more...GOD bless them all
There is nothing more to add, after so many people have showered praises. All you add is love. Cumulative 400 years of hindustani sangeeta with raga mand
He just began the alapanai and within 11 seconds offered a chance to Akkarai madam by saying ‘neeye vaschudriya’.. ha ha 11 seconds.. absolutely no ego on stage!
Both vijayalakshmi and Krishna are just like made for each other for rendeding playing instrument in karnataka music in South India!Well done sir.wish you all success!
.T M Krishna really presented a beautiful concert and celebrated the raga, maand...Akkarai Subhalakshmi on violin, gave him excellent support and added beauty of his rendition. best wishes.... Maand is a feisty raga, popular in North India and well-known for lighter pieces in the South. It is delightful to listener and performer alike. It brings forth the mood of romance, combined with cheer and warmth. Maand is often spiced up with foreign notes to make it “misra” Maand, like “chai” becomes “masala chai.” The notes that feature in the conventional Maand raga include Sadja, Suddha Rishabha, Antara Gandhara, Suddha Madhyama, Pancama, Chatusruti Dhaivata, and Kakali Nishada, and not in that order. In fact, it is the zigzag patterns in this raga that give rise to a feeling that only can be compared with enjoying a swing on a trapeze. The popular classical pieces in this raga include “Janaki Manoharam” by Mysore Vasudevachar, “Ramanai Bhajithal” of Papanasam Sivan and “Vaanathin Meethu”(arutpa of Ramalinga Swami).
Tmk sir and akkarai ma'am are becoming addictive. Don't know how to avoid this addiction. Maybe it is good addiction. Anyway blessed to listen every night
Listening to this type of call by sir krishna,Lord krishna will come running andige in his legs, kankana In his hands and golden ring. Awesome rendition.
It gives immense pleasure when we we see all the Artists of the Team Krishna enjoying themselves the Glory of his Music . Audience are fortunate to witness such a Wonderful Programme. Jai Krishna...Jai Sri Krishna.
Dhanya.. I wish Kanakadasa was here to listen to this rendering of his Kriiti, . The violinist with her smile and magic in fingers is a feast . Unforgettable. Krishna dances in front of my mental screen.
Aha. What a gem of sarvalaghu swaram improptu singing. Full of patterns [ jannal vecchu] but aesthetically perfect as well. All accompanists made it very appealing and added to this bit so well.
Instead commenting his outlook why don't you appreciate his talent and the way of singing.he is spreading the carnatic music in all the section of the society. You cannot argue carnatic music only for one community and they are the authority for That. In our country all by birth hindustani only he try to fold everyone in this country and unite them as vivekanandha he started his speech addresind them brothers and sisters in america. my dear brothers and sisters .he wants all of them egual and bring hormoni and peace in the country. All the best sir.
Could anyone can translate the song? This is just touches deep within. I understand a very little. He is requesting and persuading Krishna to manifest....after that???. All time best heart satisfying rendition.
salutations I observed while rendering any keetana he is always in trance. He enjoying Lord Krisna presence through his melodies voice. He is seeing him dancing before him, sitting beside, occupying everywhere .Watch his eyes.My feeling is some of his musicians have observed.Observe smiling on their faces.Happiness unknown reason beyond explanation.
sanjayankrSanjayan I think this is the marvollous 2nd concert with Akkarai I heard.First one before he singing Nalinakanthi. I never heard this type of rendering 🙏🙏🙏🙏
What A wonderful rendition of nenjukku neethiyum of Bharathi! What a swaanubhavam!>no other male singer has done such a full justice to the spirit, music and grammar of song
Im a learning carnatic singer and a violinist... My only vision is to accompany tmk on violin and sing with the accompany of akkarai... Thanks to god for such musicians...
The CMA can u elaborate your answer. It will help me understand your view. I am a person with zero Carnatic music knowledge. I enjoy a song if it is pleasing.to my sense.
One of the best of Krishna ably supported by Akkarai Subbalakshmi. There are a few minor comments: "jagada rakshita" will mean one who is saved by the world. This is not how Kanakadasa described the Lord. It is "jagada rakshaka" the one who saves the world. Makes a big difference to those who follow the wordings. The other one is related to differences between Tamil and Kannada. "KoLalu" in Kannada and "KuLal" in Tamil. therefore it would be "Pon+KoLalanu" = PongoLalanu. At the end "Vaasa Udupili nele Aadikeshavana daasa". After all Kanakadaasa belonged to Kaaginele where his naamankinta comes from. Therefore Kanakadasa is "nele aadikeshavana daasa" or servant of the aadikeshava of Kaaginele. I must acknowledge that T.M. Krishna has paid attention and corrected a lot of his earlier pronunciation limitations. But there are always a few to learn.
