I've been aware of One Piece since high school but I've never read or seen anything from the manga or anime and when I heard James say he's a rubber boy I had the same reaction as Mason 😮. I mean none of the pictures I saw of One Piece shows him stretching 😂😅
Them calling Luffy a "Gumby Guy" is especially funny since its called the Gum Gum fruit. Out of all the things I would have expected them to reference Mr Fantastic 😂

As a huge OP fan, I can’t believe James knew this whole time, hit like a bricks when I heard them talk OPLA. Idk if mason would ever watch/read the series, but the jokes would be INSANE if they did a vid on it😂
So funny story: I started listening to this new episode and put in my wireless earbuds, but when the earbuds connected, they prompted my music player app to auto-resume its last track, which just happened to be the Weekly Planet commentary for Revenge of the Sith. It interrupted the theme song and I spent the next 5 minutes very confused, listening to the guys talk over the end credits for Ep III. I thought at first the episode was uploaded with a broken edit until the guys thanked everyone for sitting thru movie with them.
I'm glad you guys have been able to watch the ninja turtles movie, I was never a big fan as a kid but I really loved this movie. What a year for animated movies, puss in boots 2, super mario, spider verse 2, TMNT. Great year so far
Do you watch "foreign" cinema? If not, consider it. Many, if not most, of the best animated projects I've experienced are from countries outside the United States. All the best.
I just watched Mutant Mayhem last night, perfect timing All my problems with the movie is as an adult it’s embarrassing to think I was just as dorky as the turtles without the upside of being a ninja turtle.

Nicole Maines who played Dreamer on Supergirl has written for the character a few times now in comics. As well as writing a whole graphic novel centered on the character that's due to release soon
I remember Mason saying back in the day that the best part of the X-Men was when a mutant with “shit” powers (like toad) figured out creative ways to use his powers and become a genuine threat. Gumby guy sounds like should be right up his alley.

I wish you guys were right about most people being on the side of the writer's and actor's but I'm not so sure they are. Every time I look at the comment section of posts relating to this it's really scary how much people are detached from reality have a insane amount of hatred towards these working people.
It depends on what sort of communities you look at, there are certainly a fair number of places that are overwhelmingly supporting the strike. Which isn't to undercut that unfortunately yes, especially in the US social and class stratification and ostracization has been employed with great effect to foster an undercurrent of simmering hatred for one another among the working class. It's the easiest way capitalists can keep control; just convince the workers that if they work hard enough and don't rock the boat at all, one day they too can become a corporate executive who never does anything but constantly succeeds anyway. But hey, that doesn't mean we become defeatist about it or anything. Progress is made by continuing to fight even in the face of overwhelming odds.

Yeah that’s because they’re the loudest. The stupid usually are. Around 1000 people probably commented on the video. That’s not a great sample size. A study showed around 72% of people support the writers and 67% for the actors. Comment sections again are the most vocal of a community, usually the toxic side of the argument.

Some other actors who wrote about characters they played include Danny Devito, Paul Dano, the girl who played Dreamer on Supergirl and they guy who played Batwing on Batwoman. Danny Devito wrote a wierd self-insert fan fic where his versions of Penguin married Michelle Phifer's Catwoman and saved the world from Covid. Paul Dano wrote a really good (and absurdly unique) origin story for his version of the Riddler. The guy who played Batwing wrote a small 8 or so page story that, honestly, wasnt especially notable. Then the girl who played Dreamer wrote various stories based on the character including an upcoming Graphic novel. Another one, which admittedly is a bit of a stretch, is Keanu Reeves cowrote Brzrkr. This is a stretch because, obviously, it hasnt been adapted yet. However, both a film and an anime series have been ordered. And, at least in the film, Kenau Reeves will play the lead character.
Danny Devito wrote a penguin comic in 2021. It’s not in the Burtonverse, and it’s kinda weird. Penguin and Catwoman are in a romantic relationship and they steal a bunch of vaccines to redistribute around the world. The art is by Dan Mora, so that’s great.
@@mundanepants It kinda was like that lol. The story was was clunky and confusing imo. However the whole “this is literally Danny Devito writing his Catwoman COVID self insert fanfic” vibe combined with the Dan Mora art did make it amusing.
The animation and grubbiness of the Ninja Turtles movie made my 5 year old "feel sick" I think it was a combination of the super buttery popcorn she ate, plus super fly was pretty intense at times ahah
My one complaint was using bebop and rock steady too soon. Using the lesser known mutants was great and BandR are great but together it's two groups pushing for screen time that ultimately make both feel like they are fighting for time.

A while ago there was a series where a bunch of people who were good at gran tourismo competed to be a race car driver for a professional team. I don't think the winner did very well I didn't hear anything anyway. I think that's how the film is based on a true story
It pisses me off to no end that even though they've completely finished with Ironheart, they've shelved it for no reason. And also that, even BEFORE the strike, Disney went completely radio silent on Blade. These are two shows that I've really been edging for because not only do I love both of these characters, but Marvel really could focus a little more on their Black superheroes. Yes, I know War Machine is Black, but he'll only ever really be a side character. He's never going to be allowed to be a Tony Stark level Avenger. And Falcon is still living under the shadow of Captain America. On top of that, Secret Invasion completely cut the knees out from under Nick Fury. So Blade and Ironheart where characters that we desperately needed in this universe and they're going to go all but ignored for the foreseeable future. Bulshit. At least we still have Black Panther...until Disney finds a way to screw that as well.
I agree with you but I’m glad they scrapped Iron Heart. I hope that Falcon gets a power up, without that I feel like there is no way it works. I’m most eager for the squadron Supreme, Nighthawk is my favorite Marvel character. The current era where Kyle Richmond is basically Black Batman. I know it is a long shot but that would make an amazing solo movie
