Nothing serious, but I did have a couple of minor issues/casualties that "fell out of" my trip to Waterford Hills. I cover those problem-areas as well as discussing some of the precautions I took to make doing a track day during a pandemic as safe as reasonably possible.

I would replace the master and slave ASAP. Mine finally went to the floor and stayed there, and popping it up didn't help as it was gone.

I've replaced both before, probably in the last 7-8 years. The master seems fine, so I will start with the slave and hose and then pay close attention from there. They definitely get more abuse being in the elements and next to the motor.

The “second gear black hole” is exactly why I swapped to 6 speed. I also had overheating issues at the track and swapped the radiator out with koyorad, perfect fit. Not sure how valid the “25% more cooling” is but having non beat up fins makes it an OEM+ upgrade to the very least.

Yeah, this is one situation where I probably won't look at the OEM piece first. Whatever replaces it will be all metal, direct-fit, and I'll probably put some kind of grill or protection in front of it as long as I can do so without interrupting the airflow.

Lap of the World also consider replacing the 6 main coolant hoses as well. I went with silicon ones from SoS. Easy to install especially since the coolant will be empty. Also maybe replace the thermostat. It’s all good “while you’re in there” type stuff.

When you replace the radiator, get a radiator shield to protect it: www.scienceofspeed.com/index.php/nsx/epp/exterior-accessories/scienceofspeed-radiator-shield-black-powdercoated-nsx-1991-05.html (There are also shields for the AC ducts up front, can't remember who makes them offhand, though.)

That was my plan. Only mild concerns about a screen restricting air flow, but combined with a wholly better and un-mangled radiator, I'm probably coming out ahead no matter.

@@LapoftheWorld I have not had any problem with a Koyo radiator in place. If anything, I worry it is too cold on the highway... cruising my oil and water can be like 178F or so. In the Texas heat, my oil temp climbs pretty good and I'll eventually shut it down due to that, but never coolant temps.

@@robertbcope "shut it down" you have a manual fan control? and are you running an oil cooler as well (beyond the factory filter pedestal)?

@@LapoftheWorld Sorry, what I mean is that in the heat I end up having to end my session due to oil temps. I don't have any aftermarket oil cooling and I'm nervous to go more than 280-290F for very long.
