Once it has cured, the smell went away. For me it was about 1-2 days after I put down the last of it on the floor. Was well ventilated area, but does take a good day to cure/dry up. If you were to do it say on a Friday night, I'd have no worries about it being good to go on Sunday as an example. Thanks for the question brosiferous.

Not slippery, that is the plus. Still easier to clean than a standard concrete floor. It is prone to scratching and scuffing. Ideally for a garage setting I would probably want to seal it every couple of years due to the traffic I put it through (tractors, zero turns, dragging saw horses around etc). It is good, it is not perfect. For a barndominium living quarters, I would think that an epoxy sealant would hold up longer and make you happier, but that also could be a lot more expensive.

It will not peal, you may want to check for outdoor use on the label, not sure about that. I have had mine in the barn now for 3 years, and it does wear but does not peal. I would at minimum count on having to re-apply every other year. Where at first my floor would repel fluids, now if I'm not quick enough, they do get through and can stain the concrete, so I'm likely very much do for another coating as well. I'm not sure about the "Add Stain" potential, I do believe they do have concrete staining products as well. And I will let you know about the second coat as well. It is holding up really good under traffic (turning tractors and jeeps around on it) however my GCs sub contractor drug sheets of plywood and drywall on edge along the floor and scuffed it up pretty good, so in at least one area I will try adding a 2nd coat. So far I have spilled (leaked) about every fluid that a 70 year old jeep likes to leak, and it wipes right up with a paper towel, does not seep through and stain.

Also Larry, one bucket did the whole floor with a single coat. 1700 sf, and I have a tiny bit left in the bucket.

It certainly isn't the "Perfect" solution, but.... I have now had it down in my barn for quite some time and it has held up to my jeeps, my truck and my tractor sitting a while, then moving, as well as turning the wheels sharply etc. It does not peal, but likely wears over time. It is also not 100% impermeable, quick clean up of spills is easy, but a long standing puddle of anything will seep in. I find it also helps keep the dust down very well. In all likelihood it probably should be re-applied every few years for heavy use I would assume. I hope this goes a little ways to answer your question. Greatly appreciate the question.

Thanks for your question. It has been in place out at the barn now for about 4-5 months. Since then I have driven over it extensively with dirty tractor tires, performed multiple point turns with the old Jeeps and Trucks, I have spilled nearly everything on it, gas, diesel, beer, hydraulic fluid, lots of mud, etc. So far it has held up very well, still beads water, spills are as simple to clean up as wipe them up with a rag (does not seep into the floor or stain). I would say it likely has lost a little of the luster it originally had after putting it on, but still has a shine to it. Why Supreme Seal over Gloss Coat? It is what I first saw and picked off the shelf (I had no good reason to pick it over the other). I really appreciate the comments and questions, and hope I have answered them OK. I am wondering how well it will hold up over time as well, and assumed I would at some time in the future (say every 2 years) end up re-applying a coat, but to early to tell just yet.

I spoke with the guy at Eagle and they are both the exact same product, no difference.

That is a fantastic question… and one unfortunately I do not know the answer to. I called them as well to see how long I had to wait for it to cure, extremely friendly and accommodating, and I would recommend giving them a ring. Make sense if it was an acid to clean the surface of oil and grease etc, but to Rough Up the surface??

@@TryNewThings from what i've gathered from watching countless videos, it seems the etchers are meant to both remove embedded particles/oils/dirt/etc as well as create a surface the sealer can easily/uniformly penetrate into. that said, there's videos where no etching is done, chemicals are used and then the physical etchers. leaves a beginner DIY confused by so much inconsistency.

Hello there Jeremy and thank you for your question. I would say that even after months post this video (coating holding up well, still beads water), that the color has held to almost perfectly clear. So it will show the color of your concrete... and that includes any stains you may have. My floor was pretty new, so few stains, however there were some variations to the colors of grey in the final concrete that showed through as sort of a marbled finish. Hope this answers your question. They may have some color pigments that can be added if that is something you are looking for... but for straight up application, look at your floor, then picture it shinny and that is what you will end up with. I have spilled oil, gas, hydraulic fluid, mud, pepsi, beer, etc on the floor, and it cleans right up. Not sure how long it will last, but for the first few months, even after driving over it with a dirty tractor, and trucks, and jeeps, so far it is holding up just fine. Short term pretty good, it has been a number of years now since I built the barn and I have found that without reapplying your level of protection wears off. Still, heck of a lot better even now that untreated, but does no longer prevent leak stains unless you are quite quick.

@TryNewThings thanks, sounds like a product I could use. It is hard to find any long-term durability updates on this product. If I have to reapply every few years, that's not too big of a deal.

Jeremy, thanks for the question, no etching required. At least in my case on new concrete.

It can be slick when wet. I would assume a little moreso than my smooth finished floor if it was not treated.

If I do fall, and I get it on camera, it will definitely get to RU-vid. I have tripped and fallen over so many branches, vines, rocks etc, the barn is the safest place for me out there. It actually isn't slippery when dry, just shinny. Have not really had it wet to put that to the test yet Dave. Any more progress out at your little piece of heaven?

That goes for any concrete sealer i would assume
