@@djp1234 yes, if you want to do the digging for it. You can get industry reports from associations such in industries such as 3pl, cold storage, Port and transportation. In their reports they highlight what's moving and what's not.

@@JamiePittsSCM Hello Sir,I have a bachelor's in mechanical engineering.Working in plastics(injection moulding) as a quality inspector.Totally tired of the 12 hour rotational shifts.I am planning to shift to procurement.My organization has given me an offer at Dispatch for a year followed by stores and purchase.A few questions- Is supply chain related to purchase?material planning? What course should I do to improve my supply chain skills? While I work in an injection molding,does the knowledge of supply chain management help me in other departments too like IT,Pharma etc? What do you think abt the future of polymers and injection molding?
@JamiePittsSCM
@JamiePittsSCM 4 года назад
@@6My6sT6 Look to see if the country that you work in has a supply chain industry association with training and certification. I would join that association and pursue certification. Your engineering background has a lot of the relevant skills... most of my peers are engineers and the calculations are the same... further, your education should be recognized as credit towards certification so that you can take fewer courses and save some money. Supply Chain Management is broad across all commercial sectors. Polymers and injection molding will continue to have high demand. Obviously the local economy may play a factor in demand for your plant's particular product.

I wonder how pmi captures service sector growth. U don't need to increase purchases to increase gdp or wealth. Another point is more as sells prediction gets better, we might need not to purchases as much as before to sell the same amount of goods. Also there are more independent sellers, I wonder the data captures that (we dont buy big bulk as much)

@@rr4713 The western economic system is not cyclical...... it's not planned to improved society. It relies on creating value from something free at the core. MilesBellas Executives in the U.S. are great at pointing their finger to someone else and saying not my fault. They are the ones that moved factories to China. Also, much of what they claim is being copied is not under patent protection. I'm sure many of them used Chinese designers and engineers, who in turn created similar products to be manufactured elsewhere and sold on Amazon, an American corporation. It's not like businesses in the U.S. don't do the exact same thing as the Chinese, just look at all the business lawsuits in the U.S.

Obviously purchases (a large portion of good are made in China) are going to dip. Ultimately we need to establish better supply chains within America or other countries so that we are not so massively dependent on supply chains out of China. Change takes work and the will power to do it!

economy is, how well the currency of a country flows through it's citizens. Trickle down economic does exactly what it claims, keeps the money at the top like a dam. It's why money MUST keep pumping into the system so it can overflow and keep the this economy going. My question is, is the dollar hyper inflated?
@raybod1775
@raybod1775 4 года назад
Not yet. Real inflation for everyday goods seems to go up at a percentage rate about equal to the Federal deficit or Federal Reserve money printing. Unfortunately, Republicans have driven deficits to about a trillion dollars and rising.
@mycool8980
@mycool8980 4 года назад
@@raybod1775 I wonder tho, is inequality buffing that inflation. The argument has been made that raising the minimum wage would raise the price of everything. But wages are just a way that wealth flows from the money classes to the working classes. Do we even know how many dollars exists anymore? When it was just printed money, pre Bush era, it was pretty much capped but now who knows.
