Every scene in this MV is a throwback to all their other MVs. the meaning of shutdown is like you said, but also shutting down this chapter and moving on to a new chapter as artists

Got all four members correct on your first try! Boombayah was one of their two debut songs, while Shutdown is their latest release. Utilizing strengths probably came with the understanding of their unique talents given the time between the two songs

And BlackPink first performed Pink Venom which had a celloist playing Jisoo Geomungo and Daniel Lozakovich Playing La Campanella alongside of BlackPinks Shut Down with a Live Orchestra! What I don't see mentioned is one of their greatest achievements to date. They just won the VMA for Group of the Year. The only other girlgroup to win it was TLC in the 90's. They are at the top of the top at the moment. However with that said their 7yr contract has expired and blinks worldwide are holding their collective breaths praying for a renewal.

Blackpink - Typa Girl Coachella performance The scenes in Shut Down are actually call backs to some of their most popular music videos. Like they're closing the door on their past and starting a new era.

You want English bangers? "Typa Girl" its a b-side so no m/v, you need to check out a color coded lyric video so you know who's doing what. Also they just released an OST from their mobile game called "The Girls" that has an m/v using their avatars from the game, doing choreo and everything. Anyway, both songs are absolute bangers with some real nice bars. All in English. Lisa gets the juicy rap verses in both songs and she absolutely snaps in both, but her verse from "The Girls" is bonkers and by far her best rap outing yet.

Good reaction. Lisa has a solo mv that is ALL English, Rose has 2 songs that are ALL English, BP has Typa of Girl that is all English (no mv, just color code lyric video).

If you want to really switch it up, check out their live cover of Miguel's "Sure Thing". A chance to see them without all the outfit and set changes, and really focus on their vocals. It's another oldie from early in their career, though. However, it's hard to go wrong with picking a Blackpink song. Just be aware that relatively few of them have official M/V's. So if an M/V for a song is not on their official channel, it's fan-made, and your better off to react to the song using a colour-coded lyric video (as others have suggested).

Funny you should mention SPICY GIRLS because BLACKPINK surpassed them as highest earning tour this year with the Born Pink Tour that just finished on September 17th, it ran almost a whole year. They SOLD OUT 66 out of 66 dates of the tour. Not counting the 125+K people on each of the 2 days at Coachella (where they were the first kpop artist to headline) plus 225+ Million online viewer. And other festivals such as Hyde Park in London, a benefit in France so many things they have accomplished. not too rush you on anything about their background, but in case if you ever interested about those subject then no worry cuz they do have a documentary film in netflix, which eventhough it doesn't tells you the entirety of their history but i'd say it's still a decent start if you wanna get to know them in much deeper perspective

I've been a metalhead for over 50 years, and I mean full-on. Pop, country, rap, hip-hop - it's a nope from me. Except these ladies, and most especially this song. With all the flashbacks to prior music videos, and coming in with a new song saying we're still here, and don't give us any sh*t. These ladies bring it with attitude and swagger. In this song, the beat is sick, the drops are awesome, the music video is Hollywood quality, great vocals and choreography, they look phenomenal, and they lured this 63 year-old metalhead into their K-Pop world. This may be pop, but it's pop with a sharp edge to it, and I love it.

Zack, you really should go to "Pink Venom" next. It was released right before Shut Down. They are both on their latest Album "Born Pink". Funny thing, my Grand daughter just bought me the Album. I am 62 and she is 18. Seems it would be me buying it for her but she is not in to Black Pink. It may be soon for the Solo songs but please consider Lisa's song "MONEY". I love it and I think you will too. Lisa's other solo "Lalisa" is fantastic also. It broke records and won K-pop video of the year at VMAs. All the girls have great solo projects. This would have more understanding if you had been with them from the start, every scene is a shout out to past songs and video's. Pink Venom on the hand is a Homage to the hiphop movement. Their producers and Teddy and Danny had their own musical influences from that era and the girls love it also as it's the 50th year they released this and littered through out Pink Venom are lines and sounds from that era.
