It's funny you should say that, because that was the intention! The first part is from Johnny's POV, and the second part is River's.

"In this song, the first half is sung from the point of view of a character named Johnny, and the second half is sung by a character named River, who has (hidden for spoiler reasons, in case anyone who hasn't played the game yet sees this)."
