"To The Sky" By Owl City Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (2010) Lyrics On Screen Comment & Rate Please =) IMDB: www.imdb.com/title/tt1219342/ Offical Music Video: • Owl City - To The Sky ...
What I love about this scene is how it shows the contrast between the Ga'hoole tree and the Pure Ones' fortress. You see how happy and colourful everything is there, then it cuts back to the Pure Ones and it allows you to see how grim and depressing it is.
It gave me a similar feeling, watching this scene ten years ago after a day in school when my horrible cookery teacher gave me a hard time. This cheered me up.
I'll credit Kathrin Lasky for this one, but I love that she made Soren a Tyto. Making him one of the owls opressed by the Pure Ones would have made his resistance obvious. As a Tyto, he could have just sat back and enjoyed the benefits of a Tyto-ruled united kingdom, but he instead chose to fend for thos opressed
It's a simple yet effective change to Soren's characterization that makes him much deeper as a character. Not that he's particularly deep as one, but it's far more interesting to see a character take a stand against evil in a story like this when it's done like you said. And despite it being different in the books (from what I've been told), I adore that Klud and Siren were given the same choice and the two brothers went opposite direction. They did a really good job at setting that up too; showing Klud being pessimistic and on the selfish side of things, but not evil by any means. However, the temptation of being recognized as something greater pushes him towards the Pure Ones. Honestly, it's a nice take on the bad guys when you get to see how they're indoctrinated. It fleshes out the enemy faction to be a little bit more gray. All of sudden when you see the Pure One training regiment/trials, you don't see the faceless masked soldiers, you see young aspiring Tytos trying to be more than a footnote in history, like Klud. Naturally, this corrupts their characters into becoming evil (lusting for power, doing heinous acts) but it gives a reason for it rather than them just being evil for the sake of being evil. I know this movie isn't a great adaption, but man I heard people stacking criticism on this movie a lot, but I really don't see what they mean. I'm very much an objective movie critic and don't think you should just see only the good in movies, but honestly, I can't see the bad in this one, at least behind maybe some minor writing issues. The story set up is done very well, the pacing is great (we don't spend too much or too little time in one place or on one character), and the characters are written to be very likable and interesting, as well as it all remaining consistent with itself.
I love this movie so much. A good adaption, with wonderful animation and music. Especially Gylfie is awesomely adorable Also, "Birds eye view. Awake the stars, ' cause they are all around you" is one of my favorite lyrics ever, and the animation makes it even better
This movie was the best movie I had ever watched as a kid, I still have that song stuck in my head from the first tine I heard it, I would always so, “spread your wings and take to the sky” and I have never looked up the song till now and I am so great full for it, I’m gonna be listening to this song for a long time now!!
In my opinion, this is the Best Scene of the Movie. That song is so great. PS: I recorded that scene when it was on a TV Channel from ARGENTINA: "EL TRECE" from Buenos Aires, in July 10th,2016. It was on only inside the country, or it was on Hinterland from Argentina.
Unfortunately it will never happen. There were plans for a sequel, but then Zack Snyder got the offer for Man of Steel, then he got busy with DCEU, then Netflix took him, and he's always been busy since then.
