Made it 4 years and walked away. I was being ordered to do things I morally didn’t agree with, was told I wasn’t hard enough on minor violations, but watched serious offenses get dismissed. Was blamed and yelled at by admin for things I didn’t do even with evidence to the contrary because it was easier to chew out than investigate. I’m going back to school to get into wildlife biology.
I left LEO. I would never recommend it to anyone under any current circumstances. There are those LEOs who abuse their authority who are not held to account. There are those who make a legit mistake (Kim Potter) who are abused by the system. There are those who do their work properly but are persecuted politically (Aaron Dean). When we have local prosecutors (such as in Dean trial) who abuse the system and outright lie about the law to get a conviction for political purposes, it weakens the entire profession and endangers the public. I fail to understand how an officer can continue to work in these situations when it is obvious they may not only lose their liberty, but their families would be devastated as well.
Thanks for this video. Made me feel better. Made 18 years and left because it was for a greater good. Handing it to the next gen. I’ll miss the job everyday but getting too old for it.
It’s amazing how spot on you guys are! Thank you for being brave enough to talk real about your faith, the profession and what’s really being dealt to our LEO professionals.
Ok I must admit man I love your content but I haven't watched in quite awhile. I ask you as someone who has never honored the badge and would like to get a outside perspective on some things especially with everything going on in our nation against police right now. I must put this out I support police but I also believe in the constitution fully. So in those things I have laied out there how do you feel about enforcement as a law enforcement officer and things that go against the constitution as far as state laws. You are in California and there are state laws that go against the very premise of our founding documents as a nation and in the past year we have had erected officials enforce edict and law enforcement used the excuse that it's orders. I ask you how does law enforcement justify this and go against the constitution that they swear to uphold and say it's orders? I would love a conversation about this because i come from a very different are of the country with a different outlook on things with family that is in law enforcement and in the discussions it is completely divided in what they say and believe. As someone who would like to understand and bridge that gap I ask is it your job or your oath. Thanks for your time and God Bless
You guys made very valid points but we need all of them we can get hopefully not too many leave world will be insane without them plus they'll just start lowering their standards and we'll have poorly trained cops
Don't be a cop until cops as a whole earn public trust back. Don't be a cop until people you police can get justice. Dont be a cop unless you are ready to go against other cops for justice and be a target for the wall of silence. As a cop you are a pawn for politicians and unions. Religion should be private and personal.
