Aussie bloke here. Tyler, there isn't a man on this chan that hasn't been through hard times, we get it brother. I've had a few chats about you and I think you need to do the following. Contact Linus from Linus Tech Tips in Canada and do a colab with his team on setting up your new house with some funky hardware & fibre etc, they'll help you with your IT challeneges and you can impart some car wisdom. They've dipped their toes in the water with cars over the years but both of you could benefit from a partnership here. Regarding your ex, everyone has bad relationships, I think the boys are concerned you've monkey swinged too quickly into a new one with April, what does Car Wizard and his missus think about all this. he's your canary in the mine mate.
"You'll end up hooking a producer in the small hours over a steak dinner and sending the wee rat running to casualty with a sore lip!" (not actual quote but yea)
I very much appreciate your videos and insights, Tyler. Your new home and surroundings are going to be great! True, you could have done one aspect at a time, but to do it all at once seems daunting. Best of luck with the remainder of the construction and of course, the cars!
I wasn't mad about how you treated the Range Rover Evoque but actually how well it did offroad! I'm waiting for these to depreciate more then I'll buy one 😅
Over 90% of Land Rovers are still on the road -- broken down. Why do Land Rover owners not wave to each other on the road? They already talked that day at the dealer service center.
This claim is made about the Mk 1 - Mk whatever flatsided aluminium bodied range. It does not apply in any way to the Range Rovers mk 1 all the way to the Evoque which are not farm/industrial level vehicles
@@dirkfromhein I just don’t see the attraction to any of the modern LRs, and when I say modern I mean anything made since the 80s. They fall apart, they are a toy at best. At least what we get here in the US.
As a long time Hoovie fan, im sorry for those of us that make you feel as if you cant get outta the proverbial box and experiment with your channel . Tons of us support you though Hoovie! Love and peace .
Love that old flooring, and its a shame you can't keep it. I love old woodwork/floors when it make sense to keep or reuse them (All the woodwork in the farmhouse i grew up in was reclaimed/reused)
Utter rubbish, hoopties driving 1000 miles across wherever with 3 global phenomena starring is not what hoovie does or is . No one is going to get bored with him without gimmicks like ruining ruined cars as if its entertaining….if he wants x gens and millenials he cant do pointless pollution and bad eco around his farm …jeez what a loon
TBH, I cannot stand Clarkson. May is Mediocre. I watched Top Gear and Grand Tour for Hammond. Is also the only one of the three I watch outside of those shows.
i love your content and have been watching for a long time, if i may suggest, keep doing your thing and don't worry about the haters, to be honest, its getting tiring to hear you respond to them
This! I've been really enjoying some of Hoovie's more recent vids especially the LR. I think they reinjected some sense of fun into the channel. It will also be interesting to compare & contrast his Ghibli rebuild vs Sreten's, and the S65 vids are on my list to watch.
Re: The Land Rover... You will employ detailers, body people, mechanics, probably a muffler shop... your local business will all profit off your joyride. I wouldnt feel bad at all. Hoovie - keeping people in Kansas employed!
Google 'broken window fallacy'. If he didn't thrash that Evoque, he could have spent the same amount of money on another car purchase. This would benefit the local economy in the same way, but he would end up with two cars instead of one. (Or put the money in his house). Just to point out the economic fallacy in your thinking, not telling Hoovie how to handle his business.
No big deal, but still a stupid video (I was a disliker; also hated the car, stupid thing). What really worries me is his financial decisions regarding the farm. I fear he's much worse off than he says he is.
Big props to you Hoovie. You seem like a humble and regular guy, which is much more relatable than some hyped up monkey in a cap, which i seem to see everywhere on this platform. Keep being real, keep being you, and if I'm to give you one piece of advise, then scale down on the supercar stuff, and get back to more regular cool cars. I just love your content on more relatable cars, like land-yachts and and neglected old sports cars.
Some people are extremely sensitive! Even seen people respond how the wizard wouldn’t be happy with him showing up with a car with mud. Some even suggesting he brought a biohazard into his shop :) Seriously as if they wouldn’t communicate in advance for the video ;) It’s funny. And seriously who cares about a broken Evoque of all things.
Your channel is always entertaining. To be honest I have only like land rover defenders. None of their other cars have ever been interesting. That being said I loved watching you attempt to "offroad" the evoque. It was never designed to do that. Your channel is awesome, you seem like a great and funny guy. Keep it up. I'll always support the chanbel
Tyler! I loved your Evoque video and appreciated you taking some inspiration from Whistlin Diesel! 😂 Also, many peope would wonder what a car like the Evoque is genuinely capable of handling off-road, and now we know. It was a useful test for prospective buyers!
I really think the most vocal people on RU-vid generally don’t represent your average viewer. I’ve been a viewer for years and I plan to continue to be, I love your content. Keep your head high Hoovie and keep on being yourself
I'm just glad you put out videos on a mostly regular basis. Enjoy the cars and the fact your sticking to your roots with your fleet. Love to see the variety. Keep up the good work, sir!
The amount of Trolls on my video with wizard was nuts but we knew going into it that was going to happen so we just sat back and laughed at them all. You know as well as I do that the trolls and haters will never end just do what makes you happy buddy because you know we will always be here for ya!
"Keeping the circus going" is an apt description! How you juggle everything without going insane is amazing! Reminds me of the guy on the old Ed Sullivan show who tried to see how many dinner plates he could keep spinning on top of long poles. :>)
It will work eventually. I was working on this building that had a drained Olympic pool inside. Crack heads broke into the building on the weekend sometime and cut out one piece of 3/4" copper pipe. When I got there on monday morning there was water pouring out of the front doors, and the pool was full...
I love your channel Tyler, I have a lot of respect and admiration for what you do, many of us live vicariously through you, thanks for sharing all of your car purchases and the entire process of having them repaired, sold, and so forth, you rock!!!
@@iNegroTv By that reasoning, RU-vid should just remove the like/dislike button and assume that everyone will like all videos. I usually don't reach a conclusion if I like/dislike the content until the end of the video.
22:01 wow... WOW. Been following your channel and your shenanigans with the wizard for years, seeing all sorts of exotics. But THIS one I'd never expected to ever see turn up in the US. 😱 Born behind the Iron Curtain myself, that was a truly special surprise.
Hoovie - this is why I enjoy watching your videos. And I really like almost all of the stuff here. I feel like you are doing things that I would do if I would have options to do so. And remember - you will not be able to satisfy all of the viewers. Some will be disappointed once in a while. Anyway - keep doing what you do.. I will enjoy it anyway, because I feel like you are just like me, but with more money :D :D :D
The absence of old Top Gear / Grand Tour and left a hole in my heart as well. Thank you for keeping the spirit alive. I like seeing you do stuff with the cars and enjoy them. DO MORE OF THAT!! You are a good man Tyler Hoover.
Exactly. He took a vehicle Land Rover built to make bank from wannabe Kardashians, and then used it like how Land Rover designed its original vehicles for.
Honestly I can't say I've laughed harder at another automotive-based channel than watching you offroad the convertible Evoque. Getting negative backlash for that is CRAZY. that's the definition of great youtube content, thanks for being you!
I'm pretty sure that none of the people who thumbs downed that video were actual subscribers or have seen more than a couple of Hoovies' videos..... True fans know what he's up to and that he's probably one of the most genuine and giving car RU-vidrs out there....
Exactly more so it means he reached a new audience by branching out, they are less likely to appreciate / understand, means he’s onto something if anythint
I love what you do and I don’t usually comment on videos You are my go to channel for videos. I love the resurrecting cars that are too far gone but also watching you have fun and mess some of them up. Now not being funny, but anybody that has a problem with you playing with cars that are uneconomical to repair should have paid for them in the first place. Keep at it love the channel
There’s a ‘21 BMW 750i at a local lot - priced $10k below market and about half my budget for my next newer car. I have you to thank for steering me away from that train wreck. Keep doing what you do! Don’t change a thing.
I thoroughly enjoy your content and you are one of the few people I never get tired of watching. I’m not a talk show person either but I absolutely enjoy watching your good morning shows with April. Always starts off my day on a good note
Hi Hoovie, I had a blast, watching you drive in the muddy pond. That was a once in a lifetime experience, you having to get out of the LR and get all muddy, then get the interior dirty.......was all part of the experience. Please, just keep doing you! Some people will never understand when other people want to push a vehicle to its limit. Anyone that has watched your channel for long enough, had to be asking themselves............when is Hoovie going to go through the pond? I was expecting you to do what you did. Don't change anything. Thank you for the update.
If your living your dream and have a plan and have market growth your channel is on the right track.. negative press is still press and even it grows viewership by raising awareness... I think your on point as not everyone that likes cars works on them.... you have passion.
I've been watching you since the first Mercedes... Keep doing your thing, it's always entertaining! I do have to admit I really like your "got the worst... " style videos/story arcs and those do keep me coming back, but I certainly still enjoy your experiments as well and they add some good variety to your content. I sooo wish I could afford to make an offer on the SLR. It was one of my wall poster cars when it came out.
Mannn hoovie I love the vids no matter what you do in them, people should know that you always fix the cars after you have your fun with them as long as it makes sense to fix them, Keep making your videos!! Ive been a long time supporter of your channel and I hope you don’t get discouraged because other people who haven’t watched you long don’t understand how your video series go.
I hope Hoovie sees this. I want you to know how much I love your content. So many times you have bought cars I've been looking at. But I don't have a wizard and thanks to your videos I have avoided some costly mistakes. Thank you and keep up the great vids!!!
the place is looking awesome hoovie! and please please for all your long time true fans, continue doing the videos that make YOU happy and the ones YOU think will entertain us, the happier you are making this content, the longer us fans get to enjoy it and smile, laugh while getting to be a part of your hooptie life.
Thing is you have a recipe that’s got you where you are today. It may get boring at times or you may feel you need to change or improve but we love the original hoovie. Not so much the breaking of vehicles or $100k race cars in perfect shape. We love seeing the wizard, car ninja, and you fix up the nicer older vehicles. It’s a niche you’ve found and it’s working. Always going to be a fan tho no matter what of course!!
@Hoovies Garage Hoovie, I’ve been following you since your beginning. We’ll really close to it anyway. Im a private residential and commercial contractor. I’m sure it’s too late to suggest but I’ll tell you in hindsight sight. You should have mustered up an additional 10-15K and replaced all the sub flooring and baseboard heaters. You’re ripping the place apart. There’s no better time than right now to do it. Thanks for the content my friend. You’re one of my favorites on RU-vid 👊🏽
I honestly feel bad for folks who missed out on the "Top Gear" era of car shows and don't have that context for the Evoque. Yes, clearly mudding is not what the Evoque was made for but it sure was fun to watch and honestly it did better than expected. Don't stop being silly because of some sticks in the mud.
I watched Top Gear. And my less favorite portions were exactly the ones where Clarkson destroyed cars. My opinion obviously is on the minority group. No problems. So Hoovie will not be impacted by losing my viewership if he makes this a pattern on his videos. For me, there are plenty of videos out there where people make improvement to cars so good for me to still have options. LOL
Just as an aside: when people watch top gear, they know why they're watching. When people watch the price is right, they know what they're getting. AMIRITE? BTW: I almost unsubbed when the moron did donuts in his uninspected countach in the snow with 20 yr old weather cracked tires. There's being dumb and making foolish car purchases then there's just being a complete and utter idiot.
Over the last few years you are the only RU-vid car channel I have consistently enjoyed. Keep doing you, if most of us could trade our job for yours we’d do it in a heartbeat. If you’re ever in the SF Bay Area, lunch is on me.
Keep up the good work Hoovie. Been watching you for the last two / three years. One of the few I continue to watch. Love your channel, love car trek and have actually been binge watching good morning RU-vid. With everything you’ve gone through the past year I couldn’t be more happy for how happy and improved your life is now. As Katt Williams says, you NEED haters. Haters are what motivates ya!
Keep making videos Hoovie, im gonna keep watching, love the content no matter what. My only ask, please bring back your old theme music, i really miss it 😊
Don’t listen to the haters! I am a bit older than you, and much less affluent, and I like watching your videos. I am old enough that I remember when you could get a mid-sixties Jaguar E-type for less than 5 grand, and at this point I doubt if I will ever be lucky enough to own something like that. That sucks, but I can still watch you having so much fun and enjoy it vicariously. That’s one of the best things about the internet generally and RU-vid in.particular!
You rock on Hoovie!!! The somewhat invisible benefit Hoovie provides is to fix cars others wouldn't. This keeps a useful hooptie on the road. It also keeps an unsuspecting buyer from buying said broken hooptie and getting screwed.
Love the honesty Hoovie! It's refreshing to see you address the feedback directly. While some things might not have landed perfectly, keep experimenting with the content. Maybe a separate channel for the off-road challenges? Looking forward to seeing the progress on the house and the new garage - that's gonna be epic!
by my generously estimation (excluding rain, evaporation and water adding to the aquifer) it is going to take about 200 days to fill that pond. since it is an English car, the pond will be filled up well before that car is in perfect working order.
It was already messed up. There’s a reason why it was so cheap. Obviously you take care of your cars, and you are always allowed to have fun in them. Your cars, you choose what to do with them. I just appreciate you sharing your ventures with us! Thank you Hoovie!
Give up not a chance, it’s hard to keep everyone happy, you could film a dark room and I’d watch your a legend keep up the great videos #hoovieforpresident
Hoovie, I am a 72 year old Englishman in Portsmouth on the south coast. I have watched a whole heap of your videos and cartrek, which I also enjoyed. I was a Top gear fan and Grand Tour, Clarkson has become a sort if darling of the Brits because he doesn't give a toss what people think and laughs at his critics. I hope you just keep going and carry on with crap cars and fixing them. I was a bit surorised at your treatment of the Land Rover but that is what made Land Rover, their ability to go places where other vehicles can't!
Hoovie gives me hope. I'm grinding through debt. I owe X I can pay Y. Another 48 months and I'll be at $0 owed. Slow and steady will get me a farm, a garage and a pile of hoopties. Keep on truckin', Hoovie and I'll keep grinding.
Hoovie, I can’t believe people are so precious about your actions. I love your work and have been following you since the beginning. Keep doing what you’re doing cos I love it
I appreciate you sharing the prices of everything. Most people don't realize that their favorite RU-vidrs are generally normal people who are living a totally different life. Keep going. F the haters.
