The very first time I ever played Mario Kart 8 was on a GameStop Wii U demo thing. Toad Harbor was the track I played on and I placed 2nd. Damn good memories right here. I still enjoy this track to this day, and now I'll enjoy it even more knowing just how much "detail" its music has.

So apparently Toad just has all the good tracks...

idk why but when i was younger i had a headcanon that one of those houses on the that split path (on the easier, wider side) was Toad's house, and his family was watching from the sidelines. So, I'd go into time trials, and just chill there, and pretend as if Toad was catching up with family time in between races. I was an odd child! 😂 Furthermore, I'd pair this with going to Sunshine Airport in time trials, and wait around for 7 1/2 minutes so that Toad would have to rush to get his plane to meet his Family in Toad Harbour 😂

I don't use smart steering in this game because it doesn't allow you to do shortcuts unless you have a mushroom. I found that out when my friend had it turned on, & I didn't realize it until it prevented me from doing the Toad Harbor boat shortcut. I _NEED_ to be able to do shortcuts to win, so that's why I don't use it.
