I got tired of changing the water dish in a community tank of American toads, so it was time to make a permanent water feature in the vivarium! I really don't like 55 gallon tanks, but this one was free and the size is ok for small amphibians. I'm happy with how the plants are growing and how the toads are thriving.
The soil mix was made with organic topsoil, coco fiber, cypress mulch, and sphagnum moss.
The soil already had springtails, night crawlers, and red wriggler worms added in.
The false bottom was made with egg crate light diffuser and covered with window screen.
