Good God, can you imagine standing not 5 feet in front of Hank Williams Jr. singing HIS song to HIM? That takes balls...and talent. Thankfully Toby has both. 🖤
l agree with you, indeed Toby Keith is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style,he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of beautiful days!
Toby sang it right. I was a rock and roll kid from rural Maine that joined the military. I married a feisty girl, also in the military, from south Alabama that introduced me to Country and Hank Jr. I was pretty shocked to learn Toby had passed. He is my age. Live life to the fullest, forgive yourself and others, where you can. Love, Thomas
Thank you for thanking me but I was just a unusually bright kid from the woods., Looking back, I just did it with a little bit of self awareness, we did have some swagger. I thought it was normal then to be involved in stuff a tiny fraction of people will ever experience. But, It's important, we can be everyday champions for those we love. Take those moments and do your best. Sending Love, Thomas@@marthamann7685
Ain't it sad that at the time Toby was literally the only one that could sing that song for Jr. & now who? George's song Who's gonna fill their shoes is coming true.
Thank the Lord that we have videos and audio recordings of this great man and all of the other great artists that have left this life!!! Even though there body has been laid to rest,,, THEY'RE VOICES AND GREAT RECORDINGS AND SONGS WILL LIVE ON FOR MANY DECADE'S! REST IN PEACE MR. TOBY KEITH! AND MAY THE LORD BLESS YOUR FAMILY.
Wow Toby Keith is a man among boys in Country Music! You could tell how much the song ment to both Hank Williams Jr and Toby Keith. It felt like a tremendous honor coming from both legends. Class act!!
Yeah and a good job Toby did. As good as hank in my opinion but what can you say about a boy that sings about putting a boot up someone's ass? Songs are supposed to reflect life and not so much about generating revenue for a bunch of rich assholes with enough lawyers to screw you 10 ways to next Tuesday. Music is supposed to reflect real life and that is where the "soul" comes from. What we have now is making a bunch of assholes richer.
I’ll say this over and over, folks like Alan Jackson and Toby Kieth are just rare. They are a dying breed. They absolutely MAKE country music along with the greats. Like listen to that cover!
Alan Jackson IS one of the greats now. But yeah I agree. I’m so blessed to have finally seen him on his final tour last fall. Long live REAL country music!!!!!
Rip, Toby. Man, we already miss you in Oklahoma. You should see the stage full of flowers at hollywood corner right now, he was very loved here! We are calling for the city of Moore to paint the water tower (which already says "home of toby keith") like a red solo cup, its only fitting. Today at the OU VS OSU basketball game in Norman, all beverages will be served in red solo cups. For those that dont know, Toby was THE BIGGEST Sooner fan. Last game there was a guitar, red solo cup and a Sooner hat in his seat, i hope it stays just as it was FOREVER!! We miss you, Toby! We will not forget you. I wish he could hear everyone jamming his stuff right now, local stations are playing a lot of it. I hate it that he is gone, really leaves a hole in our Okie world. Everyone crank the Toby songs up when they come on, i know i will continue to! God bless and Boomer Sooner!!!!!
First time I saw this video clip, and I could not hold back the tears! 2 men who are like Gods among us mere mortals. They believe in God, Family, and Country!!! I was blessed to be serving this great country in the US Army for 33 years and was able to meet Toby Keith in 2006 while in Iraq! He was extremely humble and I met one of my heroes that day!
This song has a lot of meaning in this day and age. Country boys are going to need to help teach this country how to survive someday again when it all hits the fan!
That's true! I've become a country boy since a couple of months and I totally agree with you. Although I live in Eastern Europe, I feel it and I'm identifying myself with this song.
Toby Keith done a wonderful job singing this song not any country singer can do this but I'll be damned if he didn't do it rest in peace Toby Keith we'll see you on this other side and you sure will be missed my friend
Toby Keith nailed it….What a performance. You made Hank proud, country fans proud and everybody that just loves a great ending! Ty….Hank…you Da Man! ❤❤❤! 🦌🦌🦌🦌!
@@Ineversetupautubechannel You have no idea who I am and what I am. I'm not a hillbilly and I'm not a cowboy. I am an engineer and scientist who loves country music and all kinds of music. What Hank is talking about is American pioneer spirit to deal with anything, and I agree with it. Being able to take care of yourself is an asset in my book. We need more of it. By the way, some of the brightest people I've ever met are hillbillies and cowboys. They have nothing to be ashamed of. If you don't believe in God or anything else, that's your choice, even if it's a bad choice. Now take care and be safe.
don't know how many 'african-americans' i've heard say...how much they hate this song....sing it amongst themselves... when they think they have the majority...yet we are the prejudiced ones...
This song makes me fight and continue on. I have heart failure and was treated in Scott Baylor Dallas TX. My chances have improved from 12% to 84% surviving this challenger. With many prayers from friends and family along with treatments by Baylors medical staff a country boy can survive... I'm also a transplant from NYC. In the 70s, my parent packed up and moved to NM and that was another event that made me survive..
Understand Toby Keith is not trying to be Hank. I'm sure he knows just as much as anyone that Hank is irreplaceable. Singing someone's song is more of a tribute to the person and sign of respect then it is trying to replace them.
um that should be obvious since Hank himself is right there in front of him while he is singing the song and Hank himself is very impressed and giving Toby the acknowledgment and signals of approval by nodding his head and smiling as well as enjoying it himself
I think Toby owns this song...you can tell he gets into it as he goes along, and respecting the master all the while! Good job TK to a legend who perhaps wrote the best country song ever, Hank Williams Jr.
What N honor .. What a special family and set of friends to help , without all of them hank woulda had a hard time recovering and who knows. Amen country . hank sr was singing upstairs im sure..legends. Founders survivors
This brings tears to my eyes when I hear this song. The one thing about my parents, especially my dad, he would never let his children listen to anything but country music. Hank Williams Jr. was one of my favorite country artists growing up. Hank, Waylon, Willie ... these three country boys were required in our home along with Oak Ridge Boys and CCR. Hank Williams Jr. is one of the very best and his music touches so many people. I can't believe 1.1k people disliked this song and the man. Hank really did put in the hard work and sweat and he's a talent that cannot be denied.
I have my ups and downs just like everyone else. Things in this world can leave you feeling depressed at times. But when you hear a great song like this and being sang by a great artist in respect of another great artist then you can't help but feel mighty proud to be an American and to be country. God bless the U.S.A. our troops our heritage and our legends.
One of the greatest country singers!!!!!! Rest in peace Toby keith!!!!!!! Fly high with the Angel's and sing your songs!!!!! Roll on Toby......😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thanks 😊 so much for stopping by to listen to my music 🎶 being from start, I wanted to write something that would be proud of something that honored me with grace and dignity, a song that hopefully came close to mirroring the magnitude of my life, personal, and sprit. I appreciate all of the wonderful comments more than know! Love happiness always, Kindly drop me your hangout just to get in touch with you💯🥰🥰
I was born and raised in NYC and in 1982 I had the great fortune of having military training in Texas. Well, Texas was definitely still Texas back then and that's when I was introduced to C&W and of course Mr. Hank Williams Jr.. I credit him with creating my love for country music and have never looked back. I left NYC for good and I know that Hank and his music definitely had a lot to do with that. His Dad was a pioneer in some of the music that he produced and the bloodline just continued in HW Jr.. Hank Jr. is one of the last (if not the last, along with Wille) "Great Ones" of country music that are still with us. His common sense and love of America and what it represented up until recent times makes people have love for this man. All of my children and young grandchildren love Hank Jr., Hank Sr. and all of the other greats. Their songs mean something and tell us stories that we can pass on down the line. I know he's proven himself many, many times over but a new song from Hank right about now would be awesome. Great video. Thank you for posting.
Coco Man, I grew up in the same town at the same time as Toby. He is NOT fake country! When he was just getting recognized, he was playing to a small crowd at Billy Bobs in Texas along with small bars all over the south. I know I was there. Blake Is also a country boy from my state of Oklahoma. But believe me , he is not Toby Keith country! Not even close. You used to see Toby all around Moore, Oklahoma spending time with his dad. He is a good ole boy and anyone who knows him will tell you that. Now Blake Shelton is a great country singer, but he is not a pure country singer. Toby will never sell out like Blake has. Now how about some “beer for your horses”. Anyone...anyone?
love that song never thought any one else could ever sing it like Hank but hats off to Toby one of my favourites ,it's funny I have both of their greatest hits CD in my truck right now no joke
Thanks for the support with your likes and comments, I’m forever grateful. I was just going through my comments. how many of my shows have you attended?
Toby there's nothing you couldn't do brother, you make me proud, so sorry this happened to you, I will never understand why God takes the greats young 😢 Rip big man 🙏 see you on the other side 👊
Toby’s the right man to do justice for this song. Just like Alan Jackson singing George Jones “ He Stopped Loving Her Today” at his funeral service . Some people are just RIGHT for singing other star’s hits. Toby nailed it!!!
