@@magicpyroninja That would probably result in redundant clothing choices. I suggest it be done the way it's already implemented with the new emporium set: sell it as a bundle but with option to buy specific clothing items separately. I don't see why you'd want to keep costumes. If I were given the choice between a costume and a clothing set that looks identically I'd easily choose the clothing set, since it gives me more customization options.
@@hlibushok Clothing set gives you more customization, while Costumes keep it consistant. If you and your crew wanted to go with a specific theme for that session, costumes can save time on getting dressed, especially if you had managed to get a ton of clothing pieces, then when you aren't wanting to do a theme just go with the swag you feel like wearing.
@@truekurayami That could be easily solved by just adding clothing presets, which is a feature the community has been waiting for since the game's release.
Good job ShinyRay, you forced me to read the full patch notes to discover that the ending is taken from the "Known Issues" section: "In areas of intense action, players may find themselves firing shots or landing strikes that do not cause damage to their targets. While small improvements continue to be delivered during our regular updates, we are continuing to investigate and identify further improvements to the player combat experience."
@@AShinyRay Aww. That's not only disappointing but confusing. The frugal Gold Hoarders went from a tent to a pristine bank fortress. But the orderly Merchant Alliance look like they're refugees in some alley with random chains and wood lying around? I was expecting something like a warehouse of shipping crates. Well, perhaps their graphical resources for Xbox were stretched too thin by the time they reached the merchants. I noticed the Port sign really didn't want to render unless I stood right in front of it which suggests they were really trying to reduce graphical demands. (or its a bug) I mean it's fine, but I mostly play merchant so was hoping for more. I suppose I like that it's more of an open marketplace instead of another stone building but I would have liked to see a bit more flexing from the merchants or stacks of cargo. I mean, who shipped all that stone and wood to build Port Merrick? Where are they spending all that money? The Sovereigns are making us look bad.
@@helicopterharry5101 once again, the best faction for essentially free gold gets snubbed again because Sweat-lords give EVERYTHING to the hardest grinds in the game, as well as the most toxic-as-possible dirty player who just NEVER fail at anything unless Rare Execs DIRECTLY intervene with GM safety nets. Yeah I'm mad! THE LORELESS HOARDERS GET A BANK BUT THE MERCHANTS HERE JUST GET A TENT!? AND THAT DRYDOCK WONT BE WHERE WE GET OUR FIRST UNIQUE MAIN-SHIP PARKING SPACE!? Top 20 tryhards influencing " minority elites over majority casuals" once again with their MIC-level bottomless bank accounts to Shadow-bribe Rare to comply
just my own theory after watching this video but what if the ship being created in the dry dock is an eventual teaser for a new potential ship type if they ever even do add one
I hope we get some ship redesigns with the interiors with chairs and more trinket spot being added like the clothing and vanity chest becoming the same and walls letting us place more paintings with some more straight walls a bit and just the holes staying in the same place basically
Yes, there is more than enough place for the Galleon-exclusive furniture to be placed on sloops and brigs. There is also a ton of unused space that could hold various trinkets. We probably don't have more wall and floor trinket slots because of technical issues (they would overlap with places for damage holes), but I can think of several ways to fix that.
@@Jodykang yes I mean I think slight redesigns for all the ships can be a great idea basically the same but things are rearranged as it’s clear that captaincy was not implemented perfectly and also the ships came out before it
I’m not the “I want pve servers!” Kinda guy, but I do with Port Merrick would be a “Pirate Haven” where pvp would be turned off and we could have it kind of like a Tortuga or something like that
lmfao the cut at the end 😆Your edits are superb, keep it up! If you ever feel up to it, I'm new to making videos and could use some critique from someone like you, seeing as how feedback can be so hard to get now that I'm out of college. Anyway, great work as always!
@@AShinyRay dang really? That’s a shame, I feel the newest buildings are in a messy state, and I don’t know what’s up with the ugly dry dock we canmt use
The clothing bundle is kinda cool definitely better than costumes. I remember I used to hate getting regular recolours over new sets but now I get hyped when a recolour drops.
It's only a small thing, but I noticed the back of the Merchant's new platform has a large interactable map like in the Sea Forts. I doubt it will be any more use than the ones already in the Forts (at least its easier to access?), but it's a nice touch to help make the spot feel more unique and distinct from the other Merchant posts.
Out of curiosity, I picked up a ghost ship voyage as a solo player, and it definitely took a bit more than what felt necessary. So I appreciate the adjustment there.
3 hits was a pretty good amount of damage for regular ships. Didnt count the captain ghost ships hits but yeah that was usually something that took a few drive by's
I don’t think the issue is how much they can tank but how much dead space there is between ghost ships. Half of the time spent doing that event is trying to catch up to/ intercept the ships
I don’t think they’re that hard as a newer player but they never felt very rewarding because you only get a few skulls and storage crates. The wraith balls sound like a good addition
I hope we get more sleeveless vest like the shirt we just got Due to the fact they look good on fat pirates Edit : Was it suppose to just immedietly cut at the end
im pretty sure his model is already in game, they are just working on the story, but they did say that the changes from that event will be grander, so it will take some time
I want them to increase the amount of life on outposts so bad, or even just golden sands. Golden sounds is such an awesome place, but there is absolutely no life which throws everything off
I haven't had chance to play much in the last few weeks. But do you think it's possible that over the next few updates, we could see the makings of a new style of ship being built at the dry dock?
The boss ghost ships weren't difficult to deal with. Making them take fewer hits is kinda meh. Maybe they were unable to find a solution to scale that particular event based on crew sizes, so instead this is their fix?
wish they woyld finally fix long black screens when comeing back from the ferry. it feel so balanced sitting there staring at a black screen with a spinning green wheel for 3 mins while ur ship gets bombarded
we need more golden sands type outposts, maybe a bigger world with more players (better servers or that wouldn't work) or just more world events or bosses like the kraken. after 1000+ hours on the game the world doesn't feel as mysterious.
Being able to buy a costume and use the clothing separately is such a welcome change. Being able to mix and match frees them up so much more and makes you want to try to make outfits with all the parts
I don't think they're building a ship the wooden structure in that dry dock almost looks like it's meant to hold a ship. They wouldn't have secured them to the stone wall if they were building a ship
@@louiscarman4988 "one note in the patch notes: in areas with intense action, players may fi.." If that is a joke, it was badly delivered. And i follow this channel since years, his joke line usually aren't like this
In areas of intense action, players may find themselves firing shots or landing strikes that do not cause damage to their targets. While small improvements continue to be delivered during our regular updates, we are continuing to investigate and identify further improvements to the player combat experience.
On the topic of world events: Don't forget that streamers and ppl who play this game 24/7 are probably the only ones who get "bored" quicker or find "only the FoF interesting". More casual players still enjoy world events and the whole sandbox as a whole as it is. Personally I think the scaling of said WE's are a great addition. It was absolute pain to have solo emptied my sup's on a fleet, to get one balled while bucketing by a Oreo skinned ghost curse MF that takes it all. I know it's the game, I'm not complaining about that, but it's nice to at least have a chance now on participating in WE's with the current scaling.
Please make a video on the evolution of knvintory items like the food items cannon ammo and all, maybe ones for items like instruments and ones for sandbox tools like tridents and rowboats
@@bugsmith9751 My man, the supply bug just made it so you could buy more supplies which is absolutely valid. It's ridiculous that a solo sloop and a 4 man galleon can only buy the same amount of supplies
Based on the fact that the dry dock still looks to be under construction, I feel like there’s going to be one final batch of changes to port merrick next update. Also a cool thing you forgot to mention: there is a map wall at the merchant area now similar to the one found in sea forts
I saw a video from another content creator who said that todays patch is the penultimate update for New Golden Sands/Port Merrick. Dunno if that's confirmed or not by others but I have no reason to doubt him.
Alright let me hear your opinions on this. Is Merrick the Sea of Thieves Jesus? I joked to me friend that he died for our sins to my friend a while ago and now it feels like he really did.
Yes... ghost fleet was long and difficult and consumes a lot. I solo sloop as a fairly new player, and I can breeze through other events that pay out more. They either had to nerf this, or Jack up the payout CONSIDERABLY. Nerf was the correct option.
Clothing bundle is great also lovely they following up with the cutlass and rapiers heavy sword thing. I really think this will be a mechanic in the future. Or it already is and I'm out of the loop? WTF Ray thats no ship being constructed. That's a regular dry dock feature where ships gets balanced upon. Now off to Port ??? hopefully the seadogs tavern island
Petition to give Merchants and shipwrights JUST as good roofs over their heads as Hoarders, Order, AND sovereigns get instead of this blatant disrespectful show of belittlement. THAT is Reaper-grade Bullshit to THE two best qualities of all the ports.
I love Sea of Thieves... but as a casual, solo, absolutely terrible player - it's so hard to enjoy these days. I want to play online, but I don't want to be hunted from the second I leave the dock. I'm not sure if it's even possible (I'm a bit out the loop these days) but skill based matching/servers would be good.
At least for me, the Flameheart fleet event was painful while solo, but unfortunately I won't able to check it out, since my PC got popped during a storm that hit my neighborhood literally 3 hours ago😢
@@AShinyRay Wish they were, i like the gold hoarder costume but if i could remove the hat and the prosthetics i'd be happy, and this update came so close!
It was not a struggle to kill the fleets but the need to turn in I believe 300-400 skulls for the kelpi sails was a harrowing task. Especially considering that at the time when Flame Heart's fleet first dropped, I believed it would be time limited and spent 4 full days to get the sails. I would have liked the fight to be faster all that considered, however I am petty and think since it's back it should still be a grind. 🤷
Sooooo just cosmetics then? Literally just a few changes to an outpost and new new cosmetic stuff for the player. Come on man with a title like that I come in expecting something actually cool like a new world event or a new chest or some genuine balance changes. This update was so insignificant I could have downloaded it and played the game 100% the same without noticing a single difference.
I don’t think the Merchant Alliance and Shipwright Shop are done yet. There’s still a lot of junk lying around it just looks awful. Also the space between is damned off but I think it’s clearly gonna be full of water for us to dock in
Really sad to see they cut up the OoS costume but DIDN'T keep the bottle on a string belt :( Been telling my crew mates I'd love that as a cosmetic for as long as I can remember.
Please give us order of souls clothing in the darker colors the actual faction npcs use and paint their buildings with, I am so happy to see cut up costumes tho it's such a good idea
I would have liked to see an order of souls jacket, also still no boots, is there gonna be an event or something to earn these gh, oos and probably merchant boots? They better not be fucking tied to giveaways like the Obsidian capstan and Gilded Phoenix weapons.
Surprisingly? Come on, Rare has been knocking it out of the park since like Seasons 3 and 4. Adventures have been the least grand thing since then, and even those are pretty damn fun if you care about the lore!
I sincerely hope they continue with clothing bundles instead of costumes, and even go back and remake most of the costumes as clothing bundles. It's always been one of my biggest criticisms of the emporium
We need the ability to paint the planks on the inside walls of the hull to colours, wich can be found scattered across the wast Sea of Thieves. Or perhaps unlocked through challenges. And the ability to keep ship lantern color (jus one color ofc, otherwise it would ruin fort of the damned).
As much as I like the flame heart event, it *was* too long to be very engaging. It wasn’t too difficult or anything, just gets kinda boring by the time you’ve fired your 20th cannonball at the same ship. I was happy to see this change in the patch notes
i could guess the ship being build has something to do with the adventure or may be a feature comming in future... swapping the ship mid game would not be bad seeing how now you reset the game to jump from gally to brig.
The world Events are way way way way way way to easy. I’ve completed hundreds of every world event in the last 5 years, Rare need to change it back a little bit at least
Still can't buy rowboats. Still can't buy rowboats. Still can't buy rowboats. Still can't buy rowboats. Still can't buy rowboats. Still can't buy rowboats.
We always avoided ghost fleets even when we would do everything else without a second thought. The ships were so accurate, fires so much, and had such range that it was incredibly oppressive unless you just hung out by the edge and spent 10 minutes waiting
