The good news the Bucs are interested and so is Mayfield. If the Bucs cannot come to an agreement, they could use the franchise tag on him and pay him for one year $36 million (top 5 average at the QB position). So odds are he will be in Tampa at least one more year. If they come to agreement analysts are saying 3 years for $80 million would be fair.

@Kris-xx1ns if baker takes a deal with a team for big $ and it's not the correct offense, coordinator him and the Wr's don't get alone and that deal is for four years and he gets cut before than, he will be labeled a backup qb forever. What C.J. Gardner said about Mayfield was true, I'm sure that guy repeated what was said in film room from one of his coaches. Alot of mistakes was made in that game from Mayfield, but if he stays he can improve his game which has alot of flaws.

I want to be honest, yes I had my doubts concerning the coaching and play calling at times but all in all I'am very happy with the outcome of our season. If Bucs can keep the team together maybe we get an even better shot at the SB next season. Thanx Coach and Staff!!

Scared money dont make money. Im good with the 2pt attempt. Aggressive teams win games, just didnt work out this time. Love this team

I agree but why didn’t Todd wanna go for either 4th and 1 while we were down a td. That drove me crazy. Dude it’s a playoff game you have to be aggressive!

It was quite obvious that the Lions defense was better than our offense line. They fought hard, but in the playoffs its about high quality. Lions got 3 1st rd picks and they pay out!

@@Robjay1795 yeah that defense brought serious pressure tbh at that point it’s up to the OC to make adjustments to the defense rather than a “better oline” and sometimes the defense is just flat out better than your offense. It happens. The unblocked blitzes tho sheesh

Good season outperformed what just about anybody thought. I wish someone would have asked Todd why he was so scared to go for it on 4th down in this game. I know we could have got a yard. We ended up punting and Detroit still marched down for a td on one of them so even if we had got stopped, same result either way. They scored.

New Tampa fan here. I joined the bandwagon when baker arrived. I will say , i started off hating Todd Bowles . But I must say i think he's a pretty solid head coach. I hope Dave Canales stays as OC, Baker and him jive really well. From my opinion. Tampa needs these positions to improve. Offensive Line, linebackers than can cover well in passing situations, wide recievers than can catch and tide end

"I don't know what good is using a timeout if you can't take advantage of it" Yes, Timeouts are a commodity a lot of coaches don't seem to value as much as Todd Bowles. I love seeing 3 timeouts with 2-3 minutes to go. It means stop and score time. perfect example was this playoff game against the Lions when the Bucs got the ball back and had 2 timeouts with a minute to go in the half. They drove down the field and scored a touchdown with 12 seconds or so to go

I like Baker, want him back, but need him at a discount. Need to spend to upgrade Oline and Dline. Especially the Dline, we need a 10+ sack dog.

Lions were one stop away from making it a 3 score game on that 4th and 14. We better play better next week against the 49ers. This game shouldn’t have been close

It still makes no sense to go for two there. Totally killed the momentum the team has just gained from the long touchdown drive. You kick the extra point. If you want to go for two and the win later, that's when you do it.

Baker put up 340 yds and 3 Td’s offense can’t do everything but again defense letting us down. Baker isn’t TB rushing to get a TD and 2 point with less than 2 mins come on. Defense needs fixing for awhile these dudes look like they given up in some games like hey we got a ring and getting paid why work. Offense needs some fine tuning but overall decent. Fix the red zone issue and help that running game. I like white for now but for sure needs to work on blocking we all saw his trip that led to baker getting sacked.

Please front office do not overpay for mediocrity and aging players and use the money wisely to fix the gaping holes on this team. We need better run blocking on the interior and better run stopping on the defensive line. We need some better coverage in the secondary and more speed on both sides. Let Devin walk he doesn't fit this scheme

I don’t understand why you don’t call a timeout especially when the lions are not running out all the play clock. If the kicker misses the FG or it gets blocked we’re right back in this game. It’s a long shot yes, but walk away from the game using all your resources, don’t just assume it’s over.

Always call timeouts in one-score games. At least 3 times this year, Bowles left timeouts on the board when the game appeared to be out of reach. You always have to give your team the best chance. Anyone can fumble a snap. In the case of the playoff game, a 49 yard field goal is not a gimme. Call timeout and give your team a chance. Why quit when you still have a chance?
