That is one squared away police officer...he realized something wasn’t right about the situation and knew he needed to treat it as a non accident without Todd knowing so he didn’t clam up or stop talking and made sure to get pictures of him and his clothes and hands so if for some reason it wasn’t a accident he had as much evidence as he possibly could to get justice for her and her family. We need hundreds more officers like him and this country would be much better. Thank you for your service
I feel bad for what these police and first responders' go through and have to witness. This poor cop was upset himself and trying to comfort this guy. Sad.
He wasn't upset, he questions him right from the start. He even asks the EMTs if the scenario is normal, they immediately reply No. The police, first responders they know hes rotten. Even the fact he was driving in the opposite direction of her job
I watched this entire case a few years back. Barb probably never raised her voice at his weasel a**, in 25 long years & he was NOT going to let her corner him or disrespect him. He lost his sh*+ & beat her within an inch of her life, had to come up with a story, stage it & act out his pathetic plan. RIP Barb.
He inquires a few times about 'is she okay', 'is she going to make it' type questions. Then 'I need to go to the hospital with her'. It's obvious he's "worried" she may pull through. He's awfully 'chatty', period.
A part time windshield repairman, with expertise, on his way to a fictional windshield repair, has a one in a billion windshield "accident." I believe him...
Does NO ONE wonder why they released the dashcam of the car that saw nothing, and not the one from the car facing the actual accident? In every other Tod Kendhammer video I've seen, interrogations included, the police pretend the window was intact. Not according to these officers. smfh
Watching these videos all over again, because they never get old. In this video, Todd was scared AF that they were going to resuscitate Barb and she would tell what really happened. He was pacing and watching and worrying. lol
Exactly. That’s usually what happens in domestic violence case in the ER/Hospital. The husband never wants to leave the wife’s said because he’s afraid she’ll tell someone.
Ever notice these "victims" then convicted murderers never reach out/phone their loved ones at time of crisis? And their son is studying law enforcement! 😅
@@kcnicky2242 So you were a fly buzzing around their house? They should have called you to the stand, just like the others, who know only what they saw in public. I take it you have watched plenty of these perfect couple crime shows and know it's not always what it appears to be.
7:37 Officer "There was a pipe on the ground?" "No it came out of a tree, off a truck, or trailer, of something." Pretty much sums up every answer Kendhammer had for every police question from there on out (unless jabbering about benign family dynamics...).
I think he believes she’s not quite dead and he believe she can talk to these responders, so he’s acting he got to go with her. Please even his crying sounds fake his talking sounds fake..!! Something about his interaction sounds fake…!!! Even this cop doesn’t believe him..!!! U can hear it in his voice..!!!

@@stephanwatson7902 Exactly!!! Seems to me he manipulated everyone around him. In his heart he was always a cruel man. For these grown kids not to recognize the death of their own mother? It just goes to show how powerful he was in the household. It’s sad these adult kids need deep counseling to break their minds from his control.
Yes your correct he was on edge too when first responders where there he kept trying to make sure she was still unconscious asking is she ok I need to see her !!
For Sure!! Those were my first thoughts. He is in a huge panic that she may come to and tell everyone who did that to her. One of the worst made up stories ever.
I hadn’t heard of this case until recently..... I watched the interrogation and really wasn’t sure ...... I felt that he was telling the truth. Within 10 minutes of watching his cross examination, I was absolutely convinced he is guilty..... this is fascinating, I can normally call it, but really couldn’t until I’ve started watching the trial. His poor kids.... they are going to need a lifetime of counselling - you can imagine whilst they are instinctively wanting to believe him, the evidence and his disaster of the cross examination, points to his guilt. I imagine they are always going to have that tiny seed of doubt about it..... he’s an absolute disgrace. Those poor kids.
I' felt like that too. I thought he was believable except for the fact that he had no explanation of why she wasn't at work and didn't really know where they were going. Just looking for "possible" work on a wing and a prayer... But he is so darn believable for some reason
His body language during his interview/interrogation was a huge red flag. His demeanour, tone, and mannerisms were projected (as in faux) His inability to make eye contact His tone (the woe in his voice) was too consistent and shut off when interrupted TBH, his whole preparedness for that interview was exposed by his memory and convenient lapses of were almost insulting to think that he would fool the investigators (I speak that from experience in that career, no offence for the laymen to not pick up on it) For fun, take another look at his interview. Watch the detectives asking the questions and observe their behaviour during the interview. They non-verbally communicate their doubt throughout.
@Michelle Parker thank you for answering I was a nursing supervisor at night and police came around a lot yes thank GOD for them I saw a pt one night for burns and told me his name was gun slinger I believed him never lived that down
I'd be furiously describing the truck, angry, telling them to look for the truck driver, once the medics arrived. I mean, your lived one is injured by someones negligence, I get angry when someone puts me at risk in traffic by having a loose trailer or debris coming out of their truck bed. His lack of interest in the truck driver responsible is odd, especially since he mentions "putting in a windshield" for someone three times, something totally unrelated.
Keeping in mind that he initially told the cop the pipe came from..."a tree...a truck...or trailer....a truck with a flat bed..." He's lucky that the cops don't taze ya for telling them sloppy lies.
He was terrified that she could still be alive telling people that Toad was the only thing that was killing her. I bet he felt like he could be there and just in case she started talking by some miracle, he’d do some showout and start crying and hugging her and talking to drown her out. 😖Poor Woman. I can’t get over what she went thru.
That's what I was just thinking, he's trying to pretend he's worried and concerned for his wife but he's really worried that she's not fully dead and might rat him out
@@kathismith7441 Exactly 😒 worried once first responders arrived that maybe he hadn't beat her enough. You hear him "Is she going to be alright?' But he's not asking for the honorable reason 🤨
If that were true, he had plenty of opportunity and means to finish her off in the minutes waiting for the EMTs, instead of, you know giving her CPR and screaming for the EMT who missed the road to make the right turn.
I thought he was behind the truck. Listening to this again. The mystery pipe truck was going south and he was going north. That means if the pipe fell off the truck sideways. The drivers side windshield or side window makes more sense. His story makes no sense.
He doesn't have to prove it happened, tho there is more evidence that it did happen than it didn't. The state bears the burden of proof that he planned and murdered his wife in cold blood. The most plausible version is Kendhammer's, since the state did not have a version at all, just the suspicions of a few donut eaters with too much time and too few gym memberships -- that a husband without a history of criminal or violent behavior snapped one day and beat his wife of 25 years to death in a car for no motive whatsoever and had all the opportunity and material to concoct this story just by coincidence.
@@cleangreen2210 ..yes, that was just a magical pipe that managed to wrap itself around her neck, cut her deeply in three places on the back of her head with a skull fracture, bruised her jaw, bruise her arms and legs, marked up her chest, hit the side of her head, broke her nose…..and that magical pipe managed all that and didn’t touch Todd at all. Yea, that’s a plausible story lol
Who knows but they found another pipe a mile up the red on a hill a woman testified also I was in a car accident once and so many weird things happened there was some garbage on the floor and all said and done it was under me under my bottom it happened so sad have no idea how
@@luisjimenez1889 I bet he dumped that pipe up the road too to back up his story. He's a lowlife wife killer. She was supposed to be at work and the only reason she wasn't is because he killed her earlier and then pretended she was going with him to the house of someone who didn't even know he was coming. Then he tried to gaslight in court by saying that guy did know he was coming.
Wouldn't he have been struck by the pipe if he leaned over the way he says he did?? He claims he was more on her side than his. Jumping over or into (depending on which version you want to "believe"). It would have hit him! He's a dumbass!!
He gives the officer way more info than than he was asking for. I tried to stop the pipe with my fists etc..."I pulled it out of the windshield!!" (so fake). He is trying to get his story straight early.
On the 911 call he's talking about a pipe hitting her and again mentions a pipe. When normal people are calling for help we just want help. We don't go into the life history of a pipe.
Early car makers were whack weren't they? "Windshield" and "Glove compartment"...."This automobile lacks a place to put one's gloves" Put them in your pocket, jeez imagine having to reach to the other side of the car to get gloves.
@@Odette321 Right? You just describe the injury so they can help, doesn't matter what exactly caused it. Like it wouldn't matter who caused it if that person already left, the point would be that, for example, she was shot not she was shot by her ex. You wouldn't waste time describing the ex
I have to say that every officer, 911 operators, first responders-all of it was handled so well and so professionally-I was really impressed with everyone.
But if someone was impaled... you would know not to pull the object out right? He pulled it from the windshield? Out of her body or just the windshield? does not make sense to me.
I have a couple questions for people that think he is innocent....how do you explain him having to work all weekend when his wife thought they were going camping?? How do you explain her not calling that she'd be late for work?? How do you explain the fact he said she had to work that day yet the accident happened after she was already supposed to be there?? How do you explain his story that he was going to pick up a car to replace the windshield when the person said Todd and him didn't make any arrangements for this and also Todd didn't even know where he lived??
I am here because Zellner is supposedly representing him and I am a staunch supporter of her work BUT this case could be her downfall? I am keeping an open mind but after watching his testimony and reading additional details from the prosecution and defense - he really does seem guilty of murder. (Then again, I also saw someone else - a big name here - 100% guilty until the evidence showed it was just not possible).
Great points. And we need not even delve into the bullsh*t about how he injured his hands swatting at a metal projectile, nor the fact that a video tape of the road he was traveling showed that their was no truck on the road with or near them.🐦✌🏼
Did I just hear him tell the officer that he NEEDED TO GO to the hospital with his wife “BC SHE IS NOT GOING KNOW ANYBODY THERE???” You can tell he is trying to say or pretend to be doing whatever so he doesn’t look like he killed her..... I think he beat her a little 2 hard this time and I think he panic when he realized it and thought a pipe thru the window would a good enough reason for ALL OF IT!!!
He's a killer so he didn't even give the correct reason why he should be in the hospital like because he loves her. No instead he says because she doesn't know anyone? This guy ...
I know this is old and I'm not far into the case yet but.........I can't see how a pipe would come off the truck in a straight line to impale the windshield. The only way I see that could happen would be if the driver of the truck jammed the brakes on at speed. Surely an untethered pipe would just fall off into the road but hey I am no expert in physics.
You're right. They tested this theory and no matter what the truck did, the pipe just horizontally hit the ground and rolled. It never went shooting straight off the bed.
Even if that did happen, how does the driver not realize he has an unsecured load and not stop? Also, even if he drove away, why wouldn’t the husband be frantic to secure some type of description or partial plate?
There's no way a pipe of that size could have flown off a truck as he suggested, gone through the windshield like a missile, then striking her in the back of the head 3 times and killing her. Made absolutely no sense at all, and the cops knew it the minute they arrived on scene, which is why they didn't allow him to leave the scene immediately to be with his wife. That was such a far fetched story. When I first heard this, I thought it was going to be one of those larger sewer or drainage pipes that you might see carried on the back of a flatbed. Maybe one of those large pipes could have enough inertia and weight to do some real damage, but that little pipe could have only caused the trauma she had if it were wielded by a human hand. It's a weapon device, and that was very clear by the wounds she had and the fact that the pipe was not inside the vehicle or stuck through the glass. This guy was a complete moron trying to stage the scene.
This is like what I would have wrote. There is absolutely no way a pipe that size flew straight airborne right into his windshield and then hit her innthe back of the head.
What's even harder to understand is how so many people (family and friends) continue to maintain his innocence despite all of the overwhelming evidence in this case.
I actually knew a person that lived in the area of "dogman". She said it was a part wolf/part dog that was either born deformed or had an accident that caused it to have no front legs or very short ones but it was still able to get around on just its back legs.

That was smart of Barbs to grab the steering wheel, if the car hadn’t been stuck in a ditch he may have gotten away with it. That’s the only reason why he had to call 911 because his car was stuck. I bet he beat her even more after that as she ruined his plan to go off snd bury her nicely. Barbs we are on your side .RIP Barbs 🌷❤️
@@Natalie-gb8tt hey so I am just getting into this crime story. I have not seen anything yet about her grabbing the steering wheel. Where does that information come from? Is there a video that you can refer me to? Thanks in advance!🙏🏻😊
@@Felsiekearney The forensics studied the road and the skid marks apparently ,and they said there is no way the car could have got stuck in that position position from Todd reversing but most likely happened by Barbs grabbing the wheel when Todd turned down the Sid road to finish her off probably , she cleverly grabbed the wheel and yanked it off the road into the ditch. I wish she had done it on the main road. Todd couldn’t get the car moving again after that so he had come up with the pipe story. after he smashed her head on the metal part of the back wheel Whete they’d found all the blood. I think he drove down the side road to bury her somewhere. and she knew it. The prosecution brings up Batbs grabbing the steering wheel a few times .When Todd is under cross snd also im closing statements. She died a horrible death snd the fact her children are on Todd’s side is very fishy. Poor Barbs🌷 🙏
I was driving my minivan on a 4 lane hwy with a large grass median. I had two newborn foster babies in carseats behind me. A truck pulling a flatbed trailer was going in the opposite direction, the median between us. His trailer ,carrying long pipes ,broke free & hit the median. A pipe shot out like a missile & hit the side of my van leaving a large gash. It came so close to those babies. The first cop that approached me asked “what did you hit?” . I lost it . So freakin’ scary.
Nakidz They weren’t twins ! This was a time when they were arresting mom’s whose babies tested positive for drugs at birth . It was also before the general public became educated on HIV so even fewer foster parents were willing to take newborns. CPS policy only allowed for two infants in the foster home at the time, so I always had 2. Crazy revolving door.
17:36 The EMTs didn't want Todd in their vehicle with Barb because they knew they were looking at a victim of domestic assault and a possible murder victim. They didn't want to give the obvious perpetrator an opportunity to finish the deed.
Was it a bird? Was it a pipe? No, no, no, it was a sledgehammer!!!! Oh man, guilty even at the "crime scene"! Police handling of him at the scene was excellent. Compassionate and respectful. Poor lady. So sorry.
i know, i wish they'd tried it out, saying "she's woken up and is talking to the cop by her bedside right this minute .." the look on his face, would have been so priceless 😂😂😂
Umm i think he killed her way before this fake accident, maybe right after leaving their house, or in the house whow knows. But i am positive he killed her before the pipe story and was driving around with her body didnt know what to do
I have seen the trial and re watching some of it. He had so many different lies about taking that turn off the main road. He lied right on the stand always denying he did not know how the car ended up in a ditch and that he did not put it in reverse. Listen starting at 14:06 where he plainly says he stopped put in reverse and backed into there which is the ditch. He then repeats the events of getting into that ditch again at frame 24:08 he turned down that road he stopped got it in reverse and into the ditch to get her out.
Kinda reminds me of the christy mullins case, when a man claimed to have witnessed a woman being beaten to death with a 2×4, which he admittedly picked up and threw. His explanation was that he picked up and chucked it out of anger bc of how despicable this situation was. Eventually he was found to b the one who actually killed her. I'm not sure but i think kendhammer did at some point claim a similar excuse for the pipe throwingand window punching
he's staging the scene. he had to get the pipe out before someone came by.she was already out and he was trying to kill her once & for all.the pipe was used after the man goes by. todd then tried to smash a hole thru the glass & had to try again. he knew they would look at the position the pipe was in, therefore he wanted her out first and the pipe out of the way. so the law would have to guess.. IMO ~*
At around 1:06:00, while sitting in the back of the police car, he becomes very nervous about the arrival of the news van. One could assume that he’s either worried about the crew having knowledge that his wife has died, or that she’s very much alive and speaking to the ambulance crew, or hospital staff, about what he did to her. However, he does not ask if she has died. Instead, he says, “It’s nothing bad?” And then says to the detective that he should know because the detective has a radio. He then reiterates that he needs to be with her. He’s not worried that she’s dead, but that she’s still alive. And talking. He even whispers to himself, at 1:06:25, what sounds like he’s telling himself not to panic. His entire plan revolves around her being dead. Which he thought she was. Even waited until he thought she was dead before calling 911.
Its so demented that he begs to go in the ambulance with her knowing how much he wanted her to just be dead. Who knows what he would have done to shut her up. Why would you pull the pipe out? If the pipe impaled her in some way I would leave it where it is until the paramedics got there. I would assume if I pulled out the pipe the person would bleed out on the spot.
He is guilty. He has to be super aware of his bloody knuckles after beating her to smitherings and therefore very conscience of them giving him away, so what do you do? You do what someone who genuinely had an accident wouldn't and immediately mention how you tried to knock it away, hitting the windshield yourself. Also explains why there are 2 immediately obvious impacts. If he really had an accident, the only thing he would be concerned with is his wife which he does an alright job of feigning but its the unprovoked explanations that give him away at this stage in the crime.
I keep an open mind but I know that cop decided it was a crime scene when Todd immediately describes trying to “grab it”. That reflex is open handed and does not result in bloody knuckles. Todd was a bit too quick to “explain” his injuries.
Not only did he not call 911 right away but I think he gave them incorrect info intentionally and I think he hung up. And they called him back. He didn't call them back
he keeps saying the pipe was in the windshield??? did he even think his story through at all? if the pipe was lodged in the windshield how would it have hit her??
1:07:53 Anybody else hear him whisper, “I have a bloody nose, too” ??? What does that mean? Did she sock him good while she was clawing at him to get him off of her? At 1:12:19 did he whisper “b****”??? Or maybe I heard wrong?! And he is DESPERATE to get down to that hospital to see if Barb is awake and talking. YES, I get that anybody would want to be at their loved one’s side if they were hurt, but most people would want to let the doctors do their jobs to save the person, not keep trying to interfere. @doranda she wasn’t DEAD, per se, but it was semantics, at that point. He started beating her in the car, then finished beating her on the ground, in the ditch, after he pulled off the road. The pipe was in the trunk, already. He just took it out, busted the windshield to make the hole it “made when it came off the truck,” and then tossed it.

He claims when he pulled, yanked or grabbed her by the neck that they fell backwards with her on top of him. The shoulders on the back of the shirt does not show it to be true. Check out frame 15:08 and 15:44 it does not look muddy or grass stained. Does anyone know if they took his shirt for evidence?

I think they prob went out in the garage to fight so the son wouldn't hear them and wake up and the fight got violent out in the garage!

It can’t be a coincidence that he worked on windshields for his entire life. I think he brought her along to try to pull off some insurance scam. Maybe to take pictures of his broken windshield and he brought the other one to replace it after the pictures. He just knew those side street names too well. Anyone working with windshields for 30 years, would know the insides and outs of the insurance industry for glass replacement. I think he wanted to pull off the scam for extra money. She was likely mad that she was going to be late for work or asked him why he needed money so bad. After she found out the amount of debt that he was in, she probably snapped at him and refused to do it. He probably beat her after and she was sitting in the car. He throws/drags her out of the car. He goes back and opens the trunk and does his windshield scam. He then realizes that he killed her and calls 911.
