Todd was the closest mind to Walt in the whole show IMO. He saw 10 steps down the line. Maybe both of em have sociopathic tendencies but its why Walt took his side on this situation. The difference is Walt could probably never actually pull out a gun and kill Drew Sharpe. But as soon as Todd talks about his connections, Walt thinks they could be useful. Jesse's right. They should have had a discussion when the kid arrived. They could've paid him not to talk and sent him on his way, and even if the kid did blab, remember the crime was done such that nobody would notice the missing chemical. It's a criminal empire. One that is structured around stealth. So the kid is a loose end who could place them at a certain place at a certain time. And has seen their faces. Not just disposable soldiers either, he saw the BOSSES. Obviously since the bosses are actually there, you should defer to them for how to proceed, but if there are no protocols in place, how can you blame him for making a split second decision in your favor?
@nightgodd7865
@nightgodd7865 3 дня назад
I mean, in the context of the show though, Jessie is totally right in wanting to get rid of him. He knew Todd was a psychopath, he saw that for Todd it wasn't a split second decision, it was an opportunity to be a sicko who can get away with killing a kid.

A kid disappearing means that now there will be people and law enforcement combing that part of the desert, uncovering evidence of their presence and activities that would otherwise have never been noted. Any tire track or broken branch is now a lead to be investigated. Todd's action created a greater risk. Someone with connections in prison only means that he is associated with plenty of people that have been caught, just like they are trying not to be. It does not inspire confidence. @nightgodd7865

Think what you want but Todd did actually make the right decision in that split second. The kid was the only witness. Your moral objections and Todd's psychopathy to one side, Todd is correct that the kid could have gunned it and then they would have been unable to do something about it. And then there's a witness driving home to tell his mum he saw people fucking with a train, but the point Heisenberg was making was that nobody could know they'd even done it. Killing the kid on the spot like that actually shows that he has a natural grasp of strategy.

I disagree. This decision caused so much blowback and friction between the group. Mike wanted out and Jesse wanted out because of that kid being killed. Todd honestly kinda jacked up everything with this action. If he doesn’t shoot the kid, they probably still continue making money and still work together and none of the other stuff happens, like with his uncle Jack and the gang. Also the kid could have gunned it and told someone what he saw, but what exactly was he going to tell ppl that would have incriminated them that much? Oh there were 3 random guys in the desert working on the tracks? Not really that incriminating. It’s not like the kid really even had time to comprehend what was going on in that scene

I guess I'm a sociopath because Todd and Walt are correct. The kid was most likely harmless but mentioning a group of men out in the desert messing with a train might have been just something cool to talk about in conversation but to the wrong person could have landed them all either in prison or dead. Paying the kid wouldn't be an option because he's just a kid. He would still probably mention to a friend how he got this money from a couple of train robbers. The only fool proof way was to take care of the kid and dispose of him. @@jadedandbitter You've got them mixed up, buddy. Psychopaths are on the far end. Sociopaths lose their cool, psychopaths are the pre-planning ones.

Todd does feel guilt. It's why he has to rationalise every horrible thing he does. That's what sociopaths do. Psychos just don't give a shit. Jack was a psychopath, probably born that way. Todd was a sociopath, probably abused by Jack.

i disagree. todd was the only pro that stuck to the protocol of the job between the three of them. walter white and jesse pinkman dont have any self control and cant stick to a job. they never did.

had to be done, they know what business there in, jesse is a whiny wimp he is in all the way and should know the risks .. no CHANCE they could let the kid go, he could easily ID any of them

Killing the kid was completely unnecessary. The kid had no understanding of anything that was going on and the only thing he could’ve really said was that he saw 3 random white guys in the desert lol. Jesse is not a whiny wimp for not wanting an innocent kid to get smoked. Like being a criminal doesn’t necessarily mean that your conscience goes away. Hell even Mike wanted out after this. Being on Todd’s side says a lot about some of y’all fans lol. Most ppl would react like how Jesse reacted

@@gurusheat3506 lol you say that like it would be an easy decision to make for anyone with some sort of moral compass. Idk, maybe it would be for you which is why you’re siding with Todd but yeah it wouldn’t be something I would choose. I would just take my chances on that kid not knowing what he saw. Todd killing the kid actually brought on worse things than just life in prison for these guys too. I’m sorry but there’s no way Todd is in the right here, no matter how you try to justify it🤷🏿‍♂️

I don't think Todd is sociopathic. The scene never came off to me as Todd having some sort of inner addiction for opportunistic killing. The scene always felt genuine: He saw a kid who noticed their crime, and he took action. Not everything can have moral justification, or time for it. Sometimes all it takes is a heat-in-the-moment ultimatum. A quick time event in which you have to make the best possible choice for yourself. It's just like Franklin from GTAV, the very first shooting mission for Franklin is that motorcycle repo mission. In which they start getting shot at and Franklin makes the quick choice to shoot back and kill multiple people. Yes, he was being shot at, but not the point. Point is he was doing something considered illegal (breaking into property to do a repo) and after being confronted by witnesses, he shot at them to save his life.
