My daughter is 3.7 old she can read count to 100 and know all the colors and shapes but only say few words like mommy daddy open eat. Most time no response when any body call her name Sometimes I believe the way she is learning to talk is repeating most the word after she hear it. But today in this video I heard very powerful words. “Whether it is autism or not the chances on your side”. So all I can say is do your best with you love one and result you will see. What ever people say just ignore it you are the one with your cutest little baby all the time.
As a boy I didn't start to really speak until between 4-5. But well before talking, I love music and could clearly sing. Parents took me to a doctor connected to Harvard. He told my mom I was "normal", intelligent , and would start talking when I had something to say. Going through puberty, adults often committed in my "beautiful" deep voice. Funny because I was scrawny and very boyish looking. I still love music and singing more than talking
The video was very informative and clarified most of the fears that young parents have in this generation. Children may not be responding to their names but good at signing and responding, dancing , when you sing those rhymes with action, we can make our own songs to just teach him what name he/ she is called by. Hope this approach is fine
My son is 3 and same thing, knows lyrics to a million songs, spends all day singing, numbers 1-100, abc, colors, shapes, planets, short sentences but no real conversations. Is your son talking more now? Mine is in speech therapy, but we don’t know what else to do to help him
So I put my toddler in school at the age of three hoping it would help her with her speech since she was nonverbal. Soon after she started I asked for speech therapy which turned into a autism diagnosis. She will be four years old in less than one month and still does not speak at all. However four days ago she started counting to five this is some thing I have been doing with her for over a year and she all of a sudden just started counting all the way to five. She still does not speak she does not say hello goodbye mom dad or anything.
Thank you for this video, your description at the beginning perfectly explained my daughter's situation. She counts and knows shapes and numbers but will not talk to us. Like you said, it's like she don't care because im not as interesting as the t.v. She can work RU-vid as good as me tho!
Wow what I wanted to hear.my six year old boy when he was 18months up to four wasn't talking but could sing every cartoon song.but what we realized was he was always on the phone alone.but now he is picking up since he is playing more with the siblings
I love your recommendations and examples. Due to Covid, it's made it more complex to get this level of detail of how to reinforce at home with my daughter. "The Chance Is on Your Side".
My nephew is 3 y/o and can sing rhymes, count numbers, identify colors, alphabets and can talk very few meaningful words. Some doctors say he's autistic some say he is not. We're confused and scared. Will he ever talk?
My kid is 25 months ,she tells albhates,1 to 10 numbers ,colors ,some animal sounds ,some will ask his her favorite food ,she will say complete ryhms but not clearly ...almost 30 words will say...but I'm worrying she is not two words forming nad if she want something she is showing but not speaking...what it is ...my head is breaking
Hello, my daughter 29 months has the same issues. Can count, sing and memorise, but won’t communicate no matter how much I try to make her do. Has your daughter improved now?

Thanks for these videos, my Question is how long should a 2/34year old should start saying the words when u consistant in engaging with them with fun play as u say making the serssion more fun as to trying to get words out of them, and my second one is what is the right amount of time for them to be watching or staring on a screen rather..thanks in advance🗣️🙏
My first son was a late talker and had to do speech therapy. he is now 18 yrs old. I am thinking this might be the same for my 2yr son. I was also late speaker.
I have twin daughters, they are around 4 years, they are very intelligent, they can read news paper since 2 years of age, but they do not communicate at all, they still can not tell if they want to piss or poop, they can not suck from straw. they point finger towards the object they want. doctors says it is autism but i dont think so because they do so much fun and enjoy like normal children. they did 6 months of OT and speech therapy but still not improvement. what should i do to make them understand commands and speak their needs. One daughter is very sensitive to sounds and still does toe walking. Pls help
Hello.. my 3 yer old daughter does the same.. sings , abcs all only difference is she can talk few words and communicate whatever she wants but doesn’t know how reply for questions 😢
I'm in deep worry cuz my son is 2 and does this.... But only thing is he is not listening to me most the time wantedly like not responding to his name doesn't want to pee in the bathroom doesn't want to give anything or hand me anything he has or things lying on the floor I don't understand what all these. I'm stressed
My daughter was the same and I hold her hands and point to what I want her to give me and say please give me, I did for one week and she started giving me things when I tell her give this or that, Please keep doing practice with him like hold he's hand and tell him to give it to you, the more you practice he will start to understand, it might be that he doesn't understand what it means. Keep explaining to him whenever you are giving him anything or bathing, food , reading books and playing his favourite game. Sending you 🥰 .
Hello sir I am from India My child sings respond to us when he wills to counts tells abc with a for apple etc He will call Muma papa aeroplane But won’t talk to us
Did you ever heard about gestalt language processing! If not google. Kids are learning language in many different way not only the analytic way( 1 word then 2 words then a full sentence).
@@Sundp111 because it's a simple search with the keyword... why not search it instead of asking for someone else to search it for you and paste it here? Videos are already free!
My girl is 3.5 ...she used to be screen addict but has been controlled since last 6 months....has many words, tries to speak a lot but seems unable to, expresses emotions, uses gestures,is understandable mostly...problem is she doesn't talk, communicate using proper words....she is a bit hyperactive too..... We have started speech and behavioral therapy 4 months ago.is there any hope she will talk?
Hi I have been doing a ton of research today on here well video watching. But if you're still trying to figure it out with your little one I found amazing videos teachmetotalk on here is the site. It's a speech pathologist and she has very clear ways of showing between speech delay autism etc and just reminded me of things you were saying and I think you might get some really good answers there. Best of luck to you and your little one
how is she doing now? My child is 3.7....same situation ! she has speech and OT for the past 7 months. A little improvement. She also is hyperactive, a runner. She needs to be watched 24/7, locked doors, etc. How is your child doing ??
4 now....still talking for communication is a big issue......she talk more now,but same alphabets, counting, colour names etc . Mostly when she see them. Not like 'i want to go out or give me milk'......uses hand leading for that. Behavior is improving.less running....sits and focuses on jigsaw puzzles now ..writes and colors too. How's your kid?
@@st-ko5zosame situation here too. Kid is 4 now. But not talking. Yes some of his focus developed. Likes to sit and play alone. Tells his desires by pointing finger. I don't know how long it takes to recover him. 😢
If a child is 4yrs and the parents thought they will speak when they're ready cause they know how to count , know alphabet and shapes but don't communicate and cry when frustrated, is it Autism or speech delayed? The child knows all these things from repeatedly seeing it on TV since born but also seems like a genius cause he can slowly read and count high numbers and no one taught him math like that even though he doesn't talk.
Start therapy right away whether the parents teach or a therapist. You don't need to pinpoint if it's speech and language delay or ASD. Start teaching communication and how to interact.
Hello Ming..I am literally relieved after watching this video because.. My kid is 2.9 months now.. He says abcd recognize them too, tells 5 to 6 colors, recognize animals, knows how tiger makes a sound, asks for food ,water, juice and whatever he likes.. Uses 2 phrase sentence, like want water.. Understands instructions like sit properly, fold your legs, knows facial parts eye nose etc, understands he needs to wear shoes while going outside.. Brings shoes to us so that we can help him wear shoes.. Only thing is he doesn't socialise with anyone except 3 4 people.. Don't play with other kids.. Just want to play alone.. I have already reduced his screen time but i will make I reduce it further and also will engage myself with him atmost so that qhe tries to speak more.. Any more activities you can suggest please?
My son is 24 months old and seems advanced or right on target in everything except for verbal communication. He doesn’t even have more than 10 words & it’s a little concerning. We have been reading daily since he was in my belly & we have fun games and flash cards we play with together but we see no progress in his communication and he will only sing 2 songs or use sign language.
Hello:) Thank you for the video! My son is almost 22 months old and is being evaluated for ASD in the next few months. He has been receiving early intervention for several months now. This is what my son does but he also struggles to sign/gesture and imitate. He does have about 50 words but he just labels things for the most part. His screen time is limited but loves music and we think he is musically inclined. In your experience do children who tend to sing but not talk eventually communicate verbally or do they need some type of communication device? I know every child is different but was wondering what you have noticed. Thank you:)
at 22 months if he's speaks and uses 50 words, that's not bad at all actually already. The main focus is to get him to use gestures to COMMUNICATE. That would be the first step and you'll see progress.
Hi:) My son was diagnosed with ASD after his 2nd birthday. He is doing well. Still labels a lot and has echolalia. Can answer simple questions with a yes or no for wants and needs. Still working on more open questions such as do you like your breakfast, etc… Feel free to ask any questions:)
Your son is exactly like our 3 year old son. He sings , doesn’t talk. He picks up songs quick and sings them over and over. He was diagnosed with ASD. Thanks for sharing.
My son is 2 1/2 years old, in addition to the exact scenario of singing and counting numbers, he doesn’t make sentences and can’t understand the simple commands as well. Is this acceptable for his age? Do I need to seek for help? Or with your recommended activity can I wait? I’m so desperate and hope you can understand my situation
My child has many signs of autism which worry me now he does not turn his head he does not socialize with others and does not speak he is now 27 months old he is very attached to the TV he sings or stutters a lot of songs he also says the letters of the alphabet and numbers you please help me i'm very scared thank you
Thank you for this, my 3 year old son when he wants something he points and says "look" or leads me, and then he gets frustrated when I don't know what he wants. So I appreciate this very much it gives me direction and more knowledge. This explains to me when he player with duplex but he starts naming planets on his own (his favorite thing to watch is planets) but when we play together we name the colors of the duplex and I see the difference. I will definitely be limiting his screen time. Thank you so much.
