I remember when I was younger my one friend and I put on a lot of makeup to pretend to be fancy people. But that was just for fun, we weren’t going to any beauty pageant. We washed it off afterwards, too.

EXACTLY! That's a child, what use is there for them to be beautiful? They are supposed to have fun, be accepted and loved for who they are, be silly and immature. They are supposed to have a childhood. Exposing them to adult standards is taking that away from them.

As someone who was told to wear makeup and girly clothing from a young age I can confirm that these thing create a very low self esteem as you get older. And I do wear makeup, but no girly clothing

@@An_Entire_Lime as someone who worked with recovering addicts and would see them completely change their entire life around, work hard, and PROVE to the courts, little by little, they deserve to not only have visitation rights back, but to then work towards full time custody is no easy task! They have to deal with many set backs, changed court dates, the other parent using everything against them.... And All that stress on top of a newly sober AND freshly released person, WHILE maintaining their own early sobriety.... It speaks VOLUMES, to me anyway, of the mothers parenting. I don't know if he has those issues, if not he'd have to do a WHOLE lot to prove that HE deserves the child over the mom, who has had the child the whole time his butt was in jail.. Ya, I'm sure he did not have it easy. And courts have a long tendency to side with mom having full custody and dad have visitation. It's sad, but true, most dads get a raw deal. So, obviously this pageant nonsense probably pissed the judge off to no end. He's lucky all that was recorded! I hope they are both doing much better today.

Oh god I feel that, hell I'm in my 20's and am still trying to break the mental stigma against myself. Mybody is naturally very hyper so anything I eat burns off instantly making me look like a twig (ribs showing and everything). Because of that I get very self conscious of myself, and I'm just too thin to where I can't really even work out to try and tone up either since theres nothing there to work with.

As a young girl, I had enough outside influences telling me what the 'typical woman' looks like that I had dysmorphia even with my parents trying to support me and get me out of it. Having your own parents tell you how 'ugly' you are; that's disgusting.

Exactly, I've had body image issues since I was around 6, I started eating loads due to trauma and I did get called fat often, I still cry looking in the mirror now, I cannot imagine how bad it is for these girls to grow up, with the only person they can rely on judging them on every single little flaw

I can respect her wanting to cover it up since I know it can be embarrassing, but what she said was just plain cruel. If her teeth were still like this when she became a teenager/adult, that’s why braces and invisaligns exist. My teeth were really messed up for a long time and now they’re almost perfect.

That kid’s teeth looked perfectly fine to me. They’re better than mine were when I was, like, 12. I’ve had to get a laser to my gums twice. The first time was because my gums were too big. The second time was because I had a tooth that was just refusing to come down, and the only way to get it to come down was to get rid of the gums that were covering it and attach the tooth to my braces.
