Hey! Hope you're having a good day! :) This vid was fun to make but oh my god I think she cursed me. There's gotta be a pink sauce curse. The amount of crashes I experienced while editing this is astronomical. Ik I did a video on Chef Pii before, about 10 months ago, but so much has happened since then and her career is completely DEAD now so I thought it would just be a fun thing to revisit. Anyways yeah :) (I dont know how to end comments)

@@dannydogs4385 I IRL banged my head against the table for that one when she started ranting about it. And the FDA didn't even do their freaking job here. We really are headed towards the Brawndo owned future that is Idiocracy.
If you’re under the false impression (that even some FDA officials fall victim to) that it’s the Federal Drug Administration, rather than the Food and Drug Administration, it’s an easy mistake to make. However, once you’ve been corrected, stand corrected.
@@nman551You don’t get paid to clap, but they do have moments where they prompt the audience to clap when there’s nothing happening (usually pre show) and then edit it in wherever they see fit. There’s similar editing that happens with shows that hold auditions or boot camps. They have everyone wear the same clothes for the first several days of shooting so they can splice things together to create a more “compelling” narrative.
The most heartbreaking thing for me is that she's been sent 25k from idiots out there. This amount would really change my life for the better, and it kind of feels like they value her over me as someone who deserves to be sent money. It's like an indirect insult to me and others who have never been an asshole and haven't had opportunities like her. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?

Small correction, surprisingly, the Pink Sauce miraculously avoided being a botulism breeding material due to the recipe. Ann from How to Cook That went into more detail in her video about the subject, but basically: the recipe is barely acidic enough (I’m talking decimals) in the PH scale that botulism bacteria spores cannot hatch. It can still go bad, there’s other bacteria that can handle that acidic environment, but by a literal miracle the Pink Sauce avoided the worst food contaminant bacteria.
would the pH be able to differ between bottles due to uneven ingredient ratios and accidentally become botulism potion anyway? or did pii actually stick to a standardised procedure when making the sauce?
And then you'll have someone like me, who has never done anything to anybody, but has some racist podcaster hounding him with his audience just because I refused to go on his show to be made fun of and have had wild allegations made against me with no evidence whatsoever

Dave’s Gourmet might be the only company to have ever been involved in an internet controversy and not only turn out to be not that bad, but in fact not bad at all. Straight up loaning her money with no interest? Informing her fairly that she would need a second job just in case she couldn’t do the math herself (which she clearly couldn’t)? The bar for corporations is very low, but these guys just seem straight up…humane
To humane imo. They should have cut ties with her after she blew through the first payment they gave her. Spending that much money that quickly shows how irresponsible she is. She could have changed her children’s lives with that money. Instead she spent it on shoes, clothes, and a party lifestyle. Some people have actual passion for things, and they often never get to pursue it. She was handed the opportunity on a silver platter, and blew it because she is just a horrible person. She honestly makes me sick.
We really need to stop thinking in such black & white terms. Businesses are run by people. They're obviously gonna run the gamut in terms of ethics and integrity. It's the same with other professions that ppl like to paint with a single broad brush. E.g. there are good and bad lawyers, government workers, police officers, public schools, etc.
She isn't Boyonce or however you spell her name I dont care enough to know, but for the record I DID say Beyonce should get a job when she TRASHED Jolene thinking she can sing country music!!!!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
From the fact that she is lying about being homeless angers me. I used to be homeless a long time ago for 2 months because I ran away from an orphanage from bad living conditions. It’s not fun to be homeless at all. Also, from the fact that she’s doing this to destroy a company’s reputation for “bad pay” even though she’s lying about it is far beyond disgusting. It’s immature, and disrespectful to the people that are homeless.
As someone who more or less grew up homeless/very poor with a single mom for about 7 years (there were times where we had to live with friends/family bc we couldn't even afford an apartment for several months), people like Chef Pii drives me nuts. Her children (if they even exist at this point, she could also be lying about that) don't deserve to suffer for her poor money management, I wouldn't wish that fate onto any child. People who are bad with money, care more about themselves than their kids, and have the audacity to act like a victim are my least favorite brand of human beings- I've known a few people like her. Also I hope things have gotten at least a little better for you now.
She was handed a golden bag, and managed to fuck it up. She got away with shipping bottled botulism. She got handed a DREAM contract. All she had to do was shut up, make Tiktok videos promoting the sauce, and she'd be set. But she somehow found a way to screw herself anyway. She was behaving like she was the one doing a favor to Dave's Gourmet for working with them.
@@panqueque445 I've just read the comments on the GoFundMe though and now I feel a little better. People literally just paying five dollars to tell her she's an asshole
What blows my mind is she just assumed she could treat a company like a parent and just keep asking for money and never pay it back. Especially after Dave's Gourmet giving her over $100k with no royalties, interest, or anything. Just free cash that she burned through and had no intention of giving back
"What do you mean is it FDA Approved, it's not a medical product!!!" Apparently she doesn't know what the F in FOOD and Drug Administration stands for.
I feel the most for her kids. Imagine having a mom who made a business deal off of a viral trend and watching her blow all of the money on expensive designer shoes and eyelash extensions instead of saving it for your college tuition or making sure you still have a roof over your head.
Henry Heinz took it as his religious duty to have high health and safety standards for his ketchup. He was instrumental in getting the Food and Drug Administration established after having set such standards in a time when there were none. It turns out that developing a shelf-stable sauce with consistent quality and no refrigeration requirements involves a lot of science.
We need more people who do this. People who actually care about the business and aren’t just in it for the money. Greedy, selfish people like Chef Pi are the reason the US Economy is so bad.
Yeah, I was actually stunned by what DG did. Like... that's so generous, what they did. She had debts before they signed on, and they handled it? That's amazing!
The whole "Would you tell Beyonce to get a job" thing, YES! Yes I would! My artist friends talk about making sure they have a sustainable income until they can support themselves on art alone. OK so I'm seeing a lot of people pointing out that she's "not a real chef," and uhhh...she is. (this is not a defense of Pii, but an argument about semantics) You do not need ANY qualifications, or degrees, to call yourself a chef. It's not a title in the way "teacher" is. Generally, the only requirement that matters is amount of experience, measured in years. This pink sauce drama has been going on so long that she literally has enough years of experience that she can fully call herself a chef She is, in fact, a chef, no matter HOW you spin it. She just is. However that doesn't mean she's a GOOD chef. it's like playing one ranked match of a game and calling yourself a competitive player. Like yes, technically you are, _but are you GOOD at it?_
8:21 Dave's Gourmet themselves confirmed that the sauce colors changed because DG used real dragon fruit instead of Pii's food coloring + flavoring This is also the reason why Pii's sauce and DG's sauce taste differently - Pii's was a Ranch sauce that was modified, DG's is an entirely different sauce made from scratch
Your so right 🎉 that's why it's different because her sauce is fake sauce it's like McDonald's when they advertise and use fake food and this is what she did it looks horrible why did people like this crap errg I just don't get the Internet these days and for her to get a deal from a big company then fluff it up thats a red flag blaming them saying she is homeless and no money and to make a go fund me page but yet gets wigs and her nails done and designer clothes so much for being poor and having no food for your kids instead of concentrating on a sauce that's poor quality she should concentrate on her kids and her education because she thinks FDA means media approved lmao so blonde lol
It's awesome they actually did that, although I won't deny I think they should have added some food coloring or something too keep it pink, since that was the entire reason people liked it in the first place.
How do you ruin such a great relationship with a corp like DG? They easily could have let her drown but they kept bailing her out. That's insane to see
This is so infuriating and depressing and awful, like she had everything, and threw it all away out of sheer delusion and ridiculous entitlement. People would kill for the opportunity she had, and she just... Threw it away.
she was given a once in a lifetime opportunity, and squandered it. The fact that there is ANYONE who feels bd for her is sad. You made this mess Pii, no one else
I'm shocked about many things in this video but the absolute most shocking thing is this company they had zero obligation to help and they helped again and again and again as if she was part of the family, it sounds so unreal

The fact that she blew through $120k+ when that money would change so many peoples lives and she wasted an opportunity so many small businesses would love to have honestly irritates me to no end. 😒
First of all, as a single mom who would also do anything for my kid, if my side gigs were given HALF the chance her sauce had, I’d work my butt off to make the most of it. Secondly, the “low vibes” and “haters” talk she is spouting makes me think she’ll try an MLM or something… Edited for typo.
I think the main thing that clued me into the quality of the sauce was the way she pours it so liberally and indiscriminately onto everything she eats. If the sauce is rich and flavorful, why would you need to be so excessive? That was the thing that clued me into the fact that she was marketing it primarily because of the color/aesthetic and not the actual flavor.
Pink Sauce Lady just seems to have that perfect storm of narcissism and stupidity to become one of these larger than life characters you can't believe is a real person.
With the amount of money she squandered she could’ve easily secured a house, or start a college fund for her kids. But apparently shoes take higher priority than financial security and buying your children clothes 🙄 It’s so frustrating knowing other small business would kill to have even half of a chance that she got. Dave’s Gourmet will likely be more cautious about collaborations with other businesses in the future, too. Completely sabotaged herself and the company that truly wanted to help her out smh
In an alternate world where she was a tolerable person the pink sauce might have hit a stride and collaborated with fast food restaurants to bring a pink sauce meal to restaurants to coincide with the Barbie movie.
Yeah, the Barbie movie would have made her a god damn genuine self made millionaire had she played her cards right. I actually did think of the Pink Sauce when it came out and I've never even tried it or followed the drama much.
Ironically, Burger King in Brazil did actually do a special Barbie promotion for the movie with a special burger and shake...... the burger had a pink colored sauce, and it's NOT Pink Sauce lol
I can kind of see where her “logic” is coming from. She expected royalty payments thinking it was basically free money. Part of her contract said that she was getting paid those royalties before expenses. She assumed that asking for an advance counted as an expense, not a cut of the pay check she was going to be paid. Since her payments were tiny compared to the money she already got (due to the 10k bonus), she assumed that they were adding expenses before the follow up payments, but in reality it was just that she already got paid the amount. It wasn’t a business expense, just a normal advance, which she assumed gave her a free money glitch.
My favorite points in her story is when she was making statements like "I'm trying to change the world" with a fucking SAUCE and claiming she couldn't feed her kids because she wasn't being paid (given handouts), WHILE wearing designer clown clothes with new nails, hair, ect.

She deserves ZERO sympathy for that alone, let alone how careless she's been as a mother with kids she should have been thinking of.

She had the audacity to throw her own responsibilities of raising HER OWN kids onto the public?! She’s “broke” but can make sure that has fresh looking hair hats, lashes and nails?! I only have sympathy for for children having to rely on an unfit parent!
I _REALLY_ don't get how people could even _be hyped_ about pink sauce- ..like if you want "pink sauce" just buy some edible pink dye and put it in like sweet and sour or something idk
From what everything I've heard said about the taste, the 'Pink Sauce' is just a shittier ranch dressing flavor-wise, so just get some pink dye and add it to a bottle of Hidden Valley if you want something better.
I don't even get the ingredients either. Honey, garlic cloves, and dragonfruit do not mix well on any planet that I know of. Like, I've always felt even if she did everything right, there is no universe in which this is genuinely appetizing to anyone but her, there's legit something wrong with her tastebuds. She doesn't even understand her own virality either. Pink sauce IS A MEME. It spread like wildfire PURELY because of just how alien a concept an edible sauce that is THAT barbie pink is. There's literally nothing about it that's normal. THAT is why it went viral, because it's strange to see someone unironically eat that nuclear waste... Not because the stuff actually tastes good. I'm not sure anyone got a real sample to try that wasn't rotten, but like... If I somehow showed up at her house, and tried a fresh batch, as it was meant to be eaten, I think it would still taste freaking weird... And if you want to actually SELL IT AS FOOD, you can't really do that unless it genuinely tastes good. Otherwise, the few sales you get off of novelty immediately drop off. It's why novel food products don't last at all.
Sometimes I’ll just think about the “What do you mean FDA approved?” clip, and it just fills me with emotion. Sometimes laughter, sometimes disappointment.
I don't live in the USA. The fact that food like this can actually be SHIPPED OUT, distributed without any consequences is absolutely insane to me. How could this happen?
yeah, ngl, makes you want to go in the kitchen, whip up something better than "Chef" P in 5 minutes (shouldn't be too hard if your taste buds haven't been nuked by radiation like hers have), then just sorta hit them up and ask for pointers on how to develop into something more. Like, genuinely, good on them for even taking a chance on people like that... It was naive, dont get me wrong. Whoever's making those decisions, they clearly aren't terminally plugged in enough to know how bad an idea this was. But it was cool they even do that at all, and now I'm kinda worried this'll sour any willingness they originally had on taking better chances in the future. ... Either that or they're playing 9D marketting chess, and they knew she'd make them, a sauce company nobody's ever heard of because seriously, who cares about food brands, look like good guys even when it does fail... But I highly doubt that though, usually companies are way behind marketting trends, not pulling off stunts like that intentionally.
If Dave's Gourmet sues her, she might not have the money now but they can have her pay over time by garnishing her wages. She'll have to get a real job and then maybe (doubtfully) she'll be humbled, learn to appreciate what little she has, and regret what she threw away

In sum, she capitalized on her one fifteen-minute burst of fame and squandered it. See her problem was that there was no passion. She was straight up in it for the money. Entrepreneurship is a high risk high reward job. She wanted all reward without taking the risk
I have been saying it from the start of this drama here is MY timeline! Chef Pii made the post about pink sauce selling 200,000 units which is a pretty awesome milestone but I believe THIS was the catalyst to the drama because I think she pulled out her calculator and "did the math" (200,000 units sold X the $8 they sell for = $1,600,000) but was appalled she wasn't getting a bigger cut because in her world production costs don't exist like the F in FDA! Dave's probably lost money on this deal and she is delusional to think that anyone would want to touch her business with a 20-foot pole after this stunt! All the girl had to do was advertise like she did when she went viral and maybe some recipes of her own that go well with the sauce and then maybe it wouldn't have flopped so hard. I wonder if every day is opposite day in Chef Pii's house because she seems to always choose the worst path!
