Tokka’s first apearance was not in the animated series. It was in The Secret of the Ooze. The TV series itself started in 1987, but the episode in question didn’t air until 1993 a full two years after his appearance in Secret of the Ooze.
The is actually wrong, Tokkas first debut WAS in TMNT 2 SOTO in 1991, he THEN appeared in season 7 of the 87 cartoon which aired in 1993. The movie came first
Such a pity that the legendary Jim Henson would never live to see the amazing Tokka suit his creature shop would make as he would pass two short months after the premier of the first movie.
Tokka's wide variety of mutations is canon, not his canon form, but the reason for it. That ooze, based upon amount of exposure and duration, was relative to the mutation. The TMNT team had a brief exposure before Splinter, a naturally mutant almost-human rat, collected them. He was triggered to grow via the ooze too. They grew into being the TMNT team. Tokka and his wolf brother were mere animals before being made into virtually overnight giant mutants via the ooze. No matter how they are antagonists, they are to be pitied. Both OG TMNT movies did really dodge the aliens that created the ooze and the Foot Clan robots... probably to avoid the ninja and mutant parody aspects of the OG canon that the cartoons flirted with while keeping their serious side. Oh, and everything TMNT post OG TMNT spawned their own mutant canon and non-canon offspring. My favorite is TMNT "After the Bomb", the Palladium Books RPG. One of the OG TMNT Turtles, going senile, created his own TMNT team from 4 mutated snapping turtles with the most skilled using my teenage self's favorite weapon (a crap one that TMNT spins as great), the Kusari-Gama. As someone who spent years in his youth getting really good at that weapon, trust me, it's only good as a show-off weapon... almost as crappy as nunchuku.
Remember, in the sequel The Secret of the Ooze, the professor altered the mutagen formula. Which made him & Rahzar the mindset of infants. Shredder only declared them babies due to their behavior, so Tokka was never a baby his mind was just slow. Rahzar too!
@@Chris_Cross-pf3dp when they were reverted back to their original form, I remember Razzar being a pup and Tokka an abnormally large baby snapping turtle. Was Tokka a fully grown animal and Razzar a baby? It’s been a while since I watched the movie.
It sounds kind of weird to hear Tokka and Rahzar talking. (Especially since Rahzar had such a gentlemanly voice). And, maybe it's the eye patch.... but could Dirk Savage be the TMNT version of a cross between Nick Fury and the Punisher?
The Secret of the Ooze was such a good damn movie lol the only thing it didn't have that the previous tnmt movie did was the golden line from Mikey, "NINJA KICK THE DAMN RABBIT! DOOO SOMETHING!!!" lmao dear God that shit is so funny lol
@@chesspunk489 Thank you very much i guess i grew out of TMNT at that time or they died out for me. But it's crazy because i went to see TMNT i guess i stopped watching the cartoons very strange or i just forget.
@@geoffreylane5606 I also stopped watching by the time that episode aired. I eventually bought the complete original series a couple of years ago and finally saw this episode.
Tokka was a baby snapping turtle, not dumb. He accomplished a lot and almost killed a few of them, lol plus he looks so cool🤘 Oh yeah, Bebop and Rocksteady were dumb, lol
It’s interesting how Tokka was voiced by Rob Paulsen and Rahzar, Townsend Coleman. At least, as far as the 1987 series is concerned. However, in the 1991 film, both of them, were voiced by Frank Welker.
Tokka from IDW is literally my favorite adaptation, for the simple reason that it keeps him and Razor just being babys, just like TMNT movie 2. And also looks cute as hell in those comics. Also. I think that if those two would have been at their maximum thinking capacity and size (taking into account that in the comics they are not at their maximum size yet ) they would have wiped the floor with Bebop and Rocksteady . Which I would have enjoyed, seeing that I detest them with a passion.
Is this some alternate universe or Mandela effect occurrence. As I recall, Tokka ad Rahzar debuted in TMNT: Secret of the ooze in 1991. Then the cartoon episode came a bit after based on the film. Am I right here?
Am I tripping or did u guys not make a video about doc samson I could of sworn u did but I can’t find It if u didn’t can u guys please make one and if u did can u link it to me lol
I thought they were only in the movie. Lol...I heard they couldn't get beebop and rocksteady because of rights or something....when the movie came out I was like wth is this...
What’s up with a lot of RU-vid channels pronouncing “others” like “udders” where are you guys from and RU-vid must be extremely popular. Not hating just asking
