I used to have such a high tolerance for spicy, but I've had to eat much less of it for a few years, so it doesn't take much to be too much for me anymore. Old-me might have started with a 3 or 4 there. :)
Rion,(LION) i love watching you eat spicy food. You make me hungry .... mmm. Thanks for posting this amazing video its great that you are showing the world what Japan is really like.
Rion. I miss Japan. I used to go visit with my family yearly but because of Covid we had to stop. Thanks for showing me what I miss. Your land is beautiful. Looking forward to the day we can visit again.
I just recently discovered this to. I always ate it with rice and meat or tofu. i just on a whim decided to put it over spaghetti noodles with ground cayenne, tofu and parm cheese and it is DELICIOUS! Will be making more in the future.
Coco Ichibanya restaurant , wow! Cha-shiu pork curry ramen 🍜 😋, I really like Japanese curry 🤤😋. 5:13-the angle where Rion is sitting and replying to a message is so nice look 😍😄👍!
Thank you for your amazing vlogs about Japan and it makes me and the rest of the viewers look forward to see Japan more and more. Superb job in making this vlogs. Stay safe Rion.
I am from the Philippines and i love watching your videos. Hope to visit Japan again soon after this pandemic. Keepsafe Rion and more power to you. Gaoooo 😊
Rion, .Like all your productions. So you cant do live feeds in Disneyland? Thats ok as I'm not a big fan of the park so when I visit Japan I'll pass on it. Thank you for the video.
Can I make a request? Can you go to Ringer Hut and vlog it? I miss Ringer Hut and it was my favorite fast food restaurant in Japan when I visited Tokyo, Fukuoka and Nagasaki. Hope to visit Japan again soon. More power to your youtube channel, Rion 👍🏻😊
That ramen looks really tasty! I was suprised that you didn’t get beer 😄 I just discovered they have a Coco ichibanya here in London! I’m so excited to try it. I will order the curry that you recommended 😊 Great video as always Rion!
Ahhh, Rion, I love your videos, I am learning Japanese and dream of visiting one day. Fantastic travel and food reviews...plus new words in Japanese. ありがとうございます😊
I love coco ichibanya, I always come to coco everytime I went to Japan, and off course brought home some instant curry from coco. Thx for sharing this Rian, this will be in next list😉😉
New subscriber here. Enjoyed your taste test of curry ramen. I have always been told that it is improper to place your chopsticks upright in a bowl of rice as it is how one makes an offering to the dead. If you do that you are signifying to your family that you are dead! Definitely not good! 🤣. However, foreigners are usually given "a pass" on this behavior because they are known to be generally ignorant of proper Japanese etiquette. I am looking forward to your upcoming programs. Take care and have a pleasant week. ❤🛫🙏🌎
Last time I visited Japan, I skip trying the Coco ramen cause Im not sure if its Halal or not. Now watching your video made me regret and wanted to try Coco ramen soooo bad. Thank's Rion! Pretty sure I should coming back to Japan!
WE LOVE CURRY RAMEN RION WE ATE DURING OUR SUMMER VACAY 2016 at chiba and osaka japan 2016.watchin ur vlogs here in davao city philippines keepsafe n godblessU rion(-*,)
Hi Rion please try the restaurant Teppan Chinese Shan Wei in Jingumae? I have seen it on TV show but I really hope you can give a detailed tour about it :)
Me and my brother discovered Coco Ichibanya back when we had a trip in Japan. We tried it in Taito/Ueno area. I found out that there's a franchise here in Metro Manila. Reminiscing your video when we were in Japan.
This looks so good. I enjoy the tour of the area and how you explain things to us. However, the background music is not necessary. It's too loud. Other than that, I love the video.
it's hard watching your videos coz I always get hungry and want to eat some of those that you eat! haha! Anyway, I will just eat Nissin Cheesy Seafood Ramen which tastes really really good! Thanks for this video!
There is no need to order the large bowls. In Japan i always take the smaller bowls and take side dishes which makes you enjoy your food more. Also you can try other foods after that and have dessert.
the ramen version looks interesting! I had curry udon once from Marugame and didn't really like it, the version i had was too rich / cloying i feel like they don't really go well together. Beef udon is the bomb though haha. Great video as always Rion!
Spices are actually nature’s medicinal powerhouse... they contain complex and unique compounds which, if consumed on a regular basis build a very strong immunity... in fact, this why it came into use thousands of years ago, as part of Ayurvedic lifestyle...use of spices is as much scientific as culinary skill... regrettably, I see most people outside India just ‘dump’ spices in a ‘tare’ (broth) and call it curry. The fact is that it’s very rare that we use all spices in one preparation... besides the basic (cumin seed/powder, coriander seed/powder, turmeric powder, salt and pepper) everything else is optional and varies from one recipe to another... it’s interesting how by playing around with different spices we create completely different dishes from same vegetables... no wonder, it’s so easy to be a vegetarian in India because we can go on without having to repeat the dish for months... it’s feels weird to me when I hear ‘less spicy’ or ‘too spicy’, when they actually mean ‘less HOT’ or ‘too hot’ ... this has purely to do with CHILLIES and NOT SPICES... I guess, one can argue that chillies are spice too... chillies (like tomatoes/potatoes) are vegetables with so many different varieties, each with its own unique heat and flavour... chillies are fascinating and there is a whole wealth of study on it, especially from South American cultures... how it balances blood sugars, how the heat triggers the release of endorphins and so on. Spices and chillies are acquired taste, which is why the tolerance varies from one culture to another depending of how often (not necessarily how much) it is used. If I have to sum it up, spices = taste/flavour chillies = heat salts = depth/flavour enhancer I guess, I am just in awe with how much there is to learn. Speaking of which, thanks a lot Rion! because I do learn quite a lot about food and places in Japan from you
Omedetou for eating something spicy this time! I suppose you didn't expect it will be spicier as you go on. 😋🍜 I thought the sound of airplane was rain and I was like "OMG, he's gonna get wet!" 🤭
