Used the Seishun 18 -ticket and local trains to go from Tokyo to Osaka and back again. The look on the ticket lady's face in Tokyo was priceless, when we mentioned we were travelling all the way to Osaka. It was a few years ago now, so it required a bit of planning and ability to enjoy the slower travel on local trains. Nowadays it should be much easier with Google or Apple Maps, and a lot less stressful when trying to find your next train when switching from one local train to another: because, surprise surprise, most of them are quite local, so you have to change lines probably half a dozen times, depending on your schedule. Still, it was a fun experience if you have the time for it.

Yes, you can use the ticket vending machines in English, and at major stations in Tokyo/Osaka the staff are very used to non-Japanese speakers buying tickets.

is it necessary to buy JR pass and suica card altogether? im going to visit tokyo, osaka and kyoto. i think best way to go from tokyo and osaka is by shinkansen, right? but for other subway sytem is not included in JR pass. it's expensive but the chance to ride another shinkansen in the future is also slim.

Most likely one will have a JR pass when visiting Japan thus making the non nozomi shinkansen the best way to get to Osaka.

yes, you can book ticket bus early 3 month before depart day, example book at Willerbus.. easy and secure.. remember to book early 3 month to get cheaper price..

Hi guys! My family and I are planning to go to japan this end of october till 1st week of november. May i please know how’s the weather in japan during that time? So that we’ll know what clothes to wear and bring? And hmm.. we are going to stay for 5 days in Ginza tokyo, may I know how far ginza to disneyland and disney sea? And after that we’re also planning to go to osaka for another 5 days i just want to know what should we ride from ginza tokyo going to osaka? And how much will it cost if we take the bullet train? The 7 JR rail pass is more expensive than the return ticket from Tokyo to Osaka. But if you did one other intercity Shinkansen trip (going on to Hiroshima for example) it'd save you money.
