The mural is my nephew. Jovon "dede" Porter R.I.P.... a victim of senseless gun violence. I watched your entire video and didn't expect to see this. Very touching thank you.
This hardly counts as driving around Toledo. You drove in one big circle through one neighborhood in North Toledo. You didn't go into downtown although you were just a mile or so from there. You didn't drive the Anthony Wayne Trail into South Toledo toward the zoo. You didn't drive through the Old West End near the museum. You didn't go out Monroe Street toward the university. You didn't drive along the Maumee River. This video does not represent Toledo at all, it was just one depressed neighborhood on the north side of the city.
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS So you ended up with a short-sighted and biased view, and created a false or at least, incomplete impression of the city, by your own choice. The Old West End and the neighborhood around the Art Museum tell a different story, had you only driven about 10 more minutes west. Had you gone south and toward the Zoo or along the river you would have seen yet another side of the city and been able to show contrasting neighborhoods. It would have been a much more interesting video to see the city from more than one aspect.
@@briannabrittany3127 I live in Toledo and can confirm this place sucks, lived in the south end for 20+ years, no Zoos, museums or botanical gardens are going to change that. The best part about Toledo is going to the area's that are not Toledo.
Toledo must have been a busy town back in its day I see they had libby glass owens corning looks like they made car windshields fiberglass insulation autolite and champion spark plugs . Toledo scale there DeVibliss maker of paint sprayers atomizers for industry and agriculture. Anderson Elevators all kinds of things made in toledo.....
It looks pretty bleak now but you can tell it wasn't always so. Your comment reminds me the Owens Corning Glass plant in Oakland, CA just shut down a few years ago. It covers a whole large city block by the waterfront, -used to send a up a blue smoke plume you could see from many miles away!
He probably would've drove around a little more if his chick wasn't complaining as if Michigan is better than Ohio. They both seem like short bus riders to me. Just listening to their conversation you can tell they both get SSI checks.
It’s a story behind every house and every street in Toledo the whole time you driving I’m jus remembering shit that happened Toledo got a lot of love and a lot of evil but it’s still our city and everyone here seem to love it no matter what
Welcome to Toledo. You are hereby required to make a pilgrimage to Tony Packos Restaurant (of Jamie Farr/Corporal Klinger/MASH fame) George Washington didn't sleep here, but I did, while in college. Toledo is starting to improve, and by quite a bit. You just missed the better places..but the places you DID see? Available for not crazy money, and there's POTENTIAL to improve and indeed get a return on your investment. You might even stay... All the Best! DE W8LV BILL
Born and raised in Toledo Ohio. That was my exit off the highway you went to when you went by Ottawa River road. I live on the other end of town now. I'm 58 and have lived here all my life.
So...You think driving around a few blocks of a city tells the whole story? That's just sad. There are many nice areas of Toledo, but most people with these channels don't care about that. All they want to do is crap all over said city just to make themselves feel better. And that says more about the person doing the video than the actual city they are tearing down. So the next time you're near Toledo...Please keep going. We've heard it all!
@@RadioWNEW Please don't compare NYC and Chicago Toledo. I am very familiar with both cities. I have been to Toledo had a cousin who use to live there. There is NO comparison!
I love Toledo Ohio been here since I was 7 I think my home town is Detroit moved here my dad had a job here dad got tired of going back and forth so I've been living in Toledo since I love it here
toledo home of Acklin Stamping made automotive parts washers dryers vacume cleaners lawn mowers multitudes of stamped metal parts for all over USA. also home of willys overland jeep
Toledo is my hometown. I moved from there to rural Alabama to homestead. It was a great place to grow up in the 70s and 80s but its not what it use to be.

This is so ridiculously bias. The driver took the most obscure exit off of 280 directly into the worst neighborhood of Toledo. Had the driver driven one half a mile north, at the intersection of I-75 and I-280, you would have seen one of the most modern Automotive assembly plants in North America. The driver would have been about a mile from the beautiful Pointe Place and Shoreline neighborhood lined with boating, fishing and golfing establishments. The driver would have been one mile from the Alexis Blvd miracle mile so popular it pulls in shoppers from Michigan.
Been living in toledo for the last 5 years. Originally from Cleveland. The downtown settings are completely different. Unless there is a walleye or mudhens game, there isn’t much going on. But it’s cool to see all the old buildings and such. I’d imagine back in the day this area was boomin
@@BIFC216Why not? From the looks of both cities one is larger. Secondly Toledo looks a lot cleaner by a long shot. No pro teams but what else there is to compare the two.
Worst city in the world, i left that broken down city of crime and started over going from homeless to homeowner making over 100k. I would not suggest ever go there.
Parts of it are like Columbia SC, the mall area looks alot like the new Columbia mall , similar layout. Visually appealing.. at first but lots of traffic for a depressed city.
He went from talking about the condition of Toledo, where I was born and raised. To Louisville, were I now live.. man I gotta get out of the hoods. Gotta love interstate 75
Yeah you. guys finally made it to my state Michigan. Make sure you take Katie to Ann Arbor! Safe travels & be careful traveling on I-94 we have the worst roads. If you think Toledo was depressing wait to you see Detroit.
I hope you didn't make your complete judgement off the North End of Toledo because that is all that was. You were a few blocks from beautiful restored historical mansions. 1 exit from the original Tony Packos. Also very close to the stadium and all the new businesses and condos going up just across the river.
Hi and how are you guy's doing ? And I watch you guys on utube. And I just ran across this video that you guys made 2 or 3 years ago. And I didn't know that you guys was in toledo ohio. But I live in toledo ohio. And you guys was in north toledo (Erie, Bush). And around Erie and bush in north toledo ohio is Not a good neighborhood at all. I use to live in north toledo ohio. And all I heard is guns going off. Plus there was a drive by on the street that I was living on at the time. And I lived in a apartment on.Walnut Street. And walnut street is off of Erie. But you took a left onto Erie. And Erie is a one way street. But if Erie was not a one way street. You would make a right hand turn on Erie. And then you would run into Walnut street.
I’m from Toledo Dede Porter was the truth got shot there bye Toledo Hospital. I called myself Dede when I was little boy cuz I couldn’t pronounce my name. RIH Dede Porter
OK one Toledo has great areas but everybody is probably going to fuck that up. By downtown its really druggy and a lot of bums!!!! I try to clean up the city by picking up trash but nobody gives a fuck what I do. The 43604,43605,43606, and 43608 zip codes are so bad!!!!
You wrong, bud! Look up DONNA OWENS! She was a CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN who was MAYOR of Toledo during the 1980s. It was THEN when Jobs move out of the city (De-Industrialization) and gang violence started (around 1986, but escalated in 1988) and the Crack Epidemic. And I am a TRUMP VOTER calling her out. So, this time, it was not Liberals. Most of the times, you is right. Liberals do destroy cities.
I was born n raised in toledo, left in 81. It used to be a wonderful place to live, when you drove down Lagrange street...I cried....walked that path a million times, now I wouldn't drive it, so very sad.
