The cybertruck has a 15:1 gear reduction while the Plaid has only a 7.5:1 That's why it has way more torque despite having less horsepower But the wheels are bigger so that torque doesn't directly translate into higher force on the ground. Overall it has probably over 20% more pulling force than the Plaid, but the performance quickly drops at high speed because of the lower power to weight

Tom's got a great attitude and I agree with the comments about the Cybertruck. I'm waiting for a non-Foundation Series Dual Motor or even better would be to buy one off of an early adaptors who's anxious to take a loss to get out of his Cyber nightmare. My intuition tells me there will be a few of those ...

Steer by wire was first demonstrated by SKF in the eighties as a showing of their capabilities. First implemented in a car by Infiniti somewhere in 2006

Steer by wire allows variable steering, so tighter turning radius at low speeds. Physical is technically possible, but not feasible. Also makes rear steering much easier because there's no need for physical link. Other manufacturers did try steer by wire and some displayed concepts, but it never got into production. Tesla has the only implementation so far that does not introduce noticeable delay in steering - and this is the major factor.

Yea the Cybertruck steering is just Magic, you don't realize once driving its fly by wire. I go back and forth to my Model 3, Y or other ICE cars and wonder where this has been all my life Haha!

Recently, I moved from a Model 3 to a Model Y and noticed a difference in regen. Perhaps it's in my head, but even the 500lb difference between the two seems to have caused me to make some adjustments in one pedal driving.
