Hi Dot from Ottawa, Canada here. I sprayed this cologne on before watching a bunch of reviews on it just to see what others get from this fragrance. Different point of views then myself of course. And from the moment you said "play doe-ey sort of manufactured quality" I became a subscriber. Great job on the break down for every nuance and sheer passion for pointing out every nuance that viewers like myself don't know to put there fingers on. Great job.
i always played baseball and i can tell you it smells exactly like a dugout...you smell the leather gloves the wooden bats, and the clay dirt..love it..if you know anyone that played, ask them..
Just bought it, and, at first I was a bit apprehensive, but on my second wear I love it! It dries down so nicely on my skin, but you definitely need to give it at least 30 minutes.
Just found your channel, excellent, love your take on the fragrance community with your reviews, a breath of fresh air lol, kind regards from Bonnie Scotland 🏴
new subscriber here great review guys you are spot on I own both this as a PRIVATE BLEND as well as TF TUSCAN LEATHER while I do prefer TFTL for its casual boldness this is gorgeous & a terrific value in comparison I do find this one to be a bit dressier/more sophisticated JIM from MIAMI BEACH
I first smelt this the other day alongside the very much more expensive Tuscan Leather current formula and thought mmm that is good. I bought this today from Debenhams during a 15% off Tom Ford offer day and by the time I’d chucked in some discount vouchers it was £76 for 100Ml. It is stunningly good. I just wish this bloody cold that started coming on last night was not interfering with my enjoyment...When my nose is 100% it is going to smell divine.
@@WaftsfromTheLoft what about doing some summer fragrances videos given that it's June already. Eau de Rochas (and Homme flanker) comes to my mind - oldschool summer fragrance with some nontrivial mossy substance to it that I think you'd like. Also maybe Eau Sauvage line? On the other hand: have you tried any Ormonde Janes? A very good London house with only very solid releases: I really think that Black Gold would excite both you and Jo. Really complex, dark fragrance of superb quality. I think Turin gave 5/5 to their Ormonde Man too and spoke very highly of other releases from the house.
Wonderful review! This is not available yet on my side of the pond. When it is I expect to buy it upon first sniff as any nods to Fahrenheit constitute a immediate must have. Savvy one that Tom Ford: release a perfume priced well with hints of Tuscan Leather polished up a bit. He knows his market well me thinks. Urban office workers looking for something frisky yet not overtly sexual should love this one. The bottle design is spot on as well: elegant, understated, and the color choice superb. While not all of TF releases tickle my fancy I have to tip my hat to the man. He knows his perfume. Perhaps more to the point knows his market.
I love this! The first day i wore it my friend complimented it saying it was very sexy and unusual. It will definitely be part of my autumn/winter rotation. It reminds me of My Heroine (MAC), which i've read is being discontinued.
Wafts from The Loft i can't be sure if it is as I read it when i was reading reviews on Ombre Leather. But I'm going to check as I'm worried Velvet Teddy will be discontinued too (Tobacco Vanille dupe!). Excellent review by the way. Described my thoughts exactly. I'm going to watch your top 10 Tom Ford video. His fragrances are my favourites 💗
I've recently obtained a full bottle of Rasasi La Yuqawam Homme. Would you say Ombré Leather is distinctive enough to add to my collection? I also already own scents like Oud Wood, Noir Extreme, Creed Original Santal, Mancera Red Tobacco, Montale Arabians and Nasomatto Black Afgano. My current collection contains 38 perfumes and I'm only willing to add two more.
It sounds like you’ve got that genre covered. It is quite different to La Yuqawam /TL, but if you’ve only got two spots left I’d go for something else.
The “alternatives” market is so heated that Tom Ford made an alternative for one of his own best sellers. Beau du Jour is out there as well. It’s becoming a thing. Let’s see how far it goes.
I like your honesty and love for fragrance. I Just order my bottle of ombré leather. What kind of longevity are you experiencing? Also a bottle of noir extreme which I love also.
I just tried it today in a shop , sprayed light on my skin. Especially the opening i love , its amazing and interesting. But i think it wears of kind of fast ( 3 hours ) i can still smell it now 12 hours after , but its then really really light and you need to smell it close to the skin. One thing that people forget about is what you eat and drink ( as it also has an impact on how the scent react on your skin ) i drink lot of black coffe - like chilli - garlic - wine ....hope this helps . But i really love the opening and would have hoped it would stay that way longer.
I think that Tom Ford Noir Extreme is a lot better, at least on my skin and especially in winter........another Tom Ford i really like is Grey Vetiver , especially in spring and autumn.
No doubt it’s a great fragrance but Tuscan Leather is just better. This is a more accessible and cost friendly version. Great review as always guys, keep them coming.
@@MrTShbib In my opinion TL packs more of a punch, has more of a smoky grown up smell and better performance. Whether it is worth twice the price, maybe not but I prefer it!
I just tried 10 TF fragrances and Ombre Leather came in last. It was too medicinal for my liking and I gave it a 3/10 when Oud Wood was 7/10. I have learnt never to trust any influencer when it comes to fragrances.
Creed Aventus vs pdm Layton vs TF Tuscan leather- which is best headturner at parties out of dese ??? All will b present batches .. any other u can suggest ?
If you really want to stand out and wear something special I suggest you venture beyond the likes of TF, Creed and PdM. We’ve done videos like 10 Houses You Should try that will give you an idea.
No, no for me sadly, the opening is like acrylic paint. It's a funny Frenchglish name, Ombre Leather. Why not Cuir d'ombre or shadow leather? Haha I think Memo Paris African Leather is much much nicer. Some of the best leather I have smelled is Roja Parfum de la Nuit 3. The labdenum (very leathery) and leather notes (I think it's Iso Butyl Quinoline, possibly wrong). The dry down is absolutely stunning and I would say it's Roja's masterpiece. Diaghilev is great but is very much a Mitsouko, although more juicier and more opulent. Probably what the original extrait would have smelled like. Only issue I have with Roja is the prices, haha. But pick up a tester of PDLN 3. It's worth a good old sniff.
@@WaftsfromTheLoft bought a decant of tuscan leather and within the hour or 2 its has nearly disappeared from my skin. Compared to bitter soft by alexandria fragrances (a TL clone), side by side to the original it lasts easily 8+ hours. Ive had good longevity with ombre leather tho.
Brother Enter it’s not feminine at all. Yes, you could say it’s a tamer version of Tuscan Leather, but it doesn’t lean feminine. I’d say a woman could wear it, as it’s a unisex fragrance, but if I had to say it leaned one way I’d say masculine.
