A day trip around Mamanuca Archipelago islands in Fiji, which is just off the coast of Nadi and main island of Viti Levu.
Trips begins at Denarau Island near Nadi town (Viti Levu), the main gateway to Fiji island groups of Mamanuca and Yasawa. On the way to Cast Away Island, we stopped at couple of snorkeling spots with crystal clean waters to enjoy marine life of Fiji.
Cast Away (2000) featuring Tom Hanks was filmed at Monuriki Island - an uninhabited island, which I've explored in this video, showing places featured in the movie.

Nice video. 'Mamanuca' is pronounced "Mamanoother". The islands may be uninhabited but there are native owners in the nearby bigger islands and they often go there to fish. collect coconuts and other things.

Hi So Andrew. Great video. Thanks for posting this. Wonder which cruise tour company did you used to get to cast away island? I am planning my trip to Fiji in November and just want to get some recommendations . TIA

Hi Mary, thank you! I went with "Cruisin Fiji". I found the tour through "Viator" site (TripAdvisor subsidiary), it had 1000+ 5-star ratings and (4.8/5 on Google) and popped-up first in the Nadi tours search. You can also locate their booth right in Denarau (outside the mall, Google Maps is accurate) and book right on the spot, perhaps even a day in advance. I had no time so I booked online through Viator (title: Authentic Fijian Day Cruise - Cruisin Fiji - best day in Fiji - CFC approved). Enjoy the trip, November is the best time, indeed!

I also did the Cruise with "Cruisin Fiji" yesterday and they took out two boats as so many people booked. I couldn't book online but managed to talk to them at the booth in person and they were able to fit my wife and myself in at short notice. It's a great day out and I think the best day trip I did in my week in Fiji. Flew back to Australia today.

In addition to my last comment ask for the cruise that goes to "Monuriki Island" as there is a separate Island called "Castaway Island" which is not related to the movie.
