He has some manic moments that almost seem Robin Williams-esque. Even some of his “voices” sound like something Robin would do. I wonder if he was a fan ❤
So glad you posted this! Wish there was more of his Stand-Up online. Thank you, again! I remember another set, different material, even wilder hair, sometime between 1982-1991 on TV (KQED, San Francisco, "Comedy Tonight," at Wolfgang's, hosted by Alex Bennett). I can't tell a joke, but I remember most of those shows verbatim and I've hoped to see his again for so many years after my daughter got me into watching Sponge Bob!
Tom Kenny won 2 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program for playing SpongeBob SquarePants on SpongeBob SquarePants and Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program for playing SpongeBob SquarePants on SpongeBob SquarePants.
I use to seem him walk by the Palace Hotel in San Francisco everyday( he had a 9-5 day job) I worked in front finally struck up a conversation and he was really nice. This was back around 1986. He just didn't seem like a 9-5 guy. Just back ground info on his early history,. He did mention he was doing comedy work at some of the clubs that were open back then.

Actually SpongeBob was actually created sometime in the 80s so SpongeBob was a thing he just was not a TV character or named SpongeBob he was a comic character and named Bob the Sponge
@@superbeakerbros5933 Ok, listen closely, "According to Stephen Hillenburg" again "According to Stephen Hillenburg". My point is I obviously got it from Stephen Hillenburg
Check Tom out in Shakes The Clown. He plays a cocaine addicted, Machiavellian party clown vying for a lead roll in a kid's TV show. Oh, see if you can spot Bobcat Goldthwait and Adam Sandler as well.
No one has mentioned Tom is the voice behind Spongebob? THIS is the version of Tom who overheard a surly, drunken little person speaking less than child-friendly things in a voice that would serve as the inspiration of the Bikini Bottom resident.
I'll give this guy credit for having such a bright assemblage of voices and the eventual legacy he ends up creating... but man, his comedy *stunk* sometimes. Too fast, man!
i absolutely loved Tom Kenny in "The Edge" (1992-93) and his appearance in "Windy City Heat". I had no idea he did work outside of voice acting until recently
@@PajamaManor adhd doesnt make people more creative it just lessens their ability to focus. someone with adhd wouldn't have written all this material they would be perpetually distracted (most modern day humans)
Well, if he had been bombing, he would have had a secret weapon in his backpocket " How many squirrels does it take to screw in a lightbulb?" We all know that's a fail safe!
