@@rtc3564 He's not funny either. I have no problem with Bill. I tried to like his comedy style, but I just can't. He's got something though because people love him. So maybe you should calm down with the comedy police thing. Maybe you should stick to Dane Cook and Fluffy.
Not putting him down just making a joke. He's just not might style. I guess you must be a millennial judging by your easy offended butt hurtness. I don't think he is your comedy style either. May you should stick to less offensive stuff like Shucky Ducky.
+GamerDeity Russainvids is wrong about that.Theres videos of Alex Jones from the 96 era for all to see how Jones looked before he got fat.Two different people.
Sometimes you have to watch another comedian's stand up bits and then watch Hicks to gain some perspective because Hicks owns everybody. He's in another league in another solar system and if you disagree you're wrong get over it.
This guy is supposed to be the uber-edgy influence on Carlin's later work? From what I can see, Kinison was the one heavily influenced by Hicks. Both Hicks and Kinison were good but Carlin is just (truthfully) on a whole other level - One he shares only with Pryor. Carlin's later work can best be compared to the great philosophical legends such as Socrates. He was not only insanely hilarious but also super deep thinker and honestly rebellious towards the societal expectations of the times. Those rebellions he championed have largely become reality I might I add and those things he truly railed against were prophetic to our cellphone infested, social media obsessed, "reality" TV diseased existence. Bill is entertaining the crowd well and really going for it here but considering his contemporaries at this time were George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy and Robin Williams, all EXACTLY in their prime, it's hard to say he was pushing the edge even slightly. No offense or disrespect intended towards him at all - I was just given to understand something I'm not seeing represented here. Can you, perhaps, point me towards another RU-vid clip that better illustrates yours, and so many other's, point?
Bill Hicks fairly and positivly influenced my life. This man is example of everything we should admire. Sorry for my bad English. Thanks Bill and Rest in peace.
it makes me angry that people like him and Lennon died young :( Sad, but also really angry. Oh and also Aaron Swartz, that was one of the most recently forgotten travesties our planet (and society, more society in his and Lennon's case) had to offer.
omg Bill just doesn't give a fuck. he has more material per minute than anyone, maybe except for Richard Pryor on coke. Bill is the greatest of all time, I will alwAys buy whatever he's selling. ..this crowd is so lucky.
This is one of my all-time favorite stand up sets. There is no weak point in this 8 minutes. I realize it has been edited down, but its just 8 minutes of pure genius. Thank you, Bill.
I don't think his delivery was always best- not compared to other comedians- but yet he is one of the top in history because his material was genius and extremely courageous. A lot of audiences hated him for his being outspoken and his vulgarity, but yet he was a loving person who always wanted to incorporate his concern for humanity in his act. It really tormented him, and he would never submit to something he didn't believe in. He wanted to make people laugh and he wanted to open peoples' eyes. People didn't like that about him, but I love how he explains in a BBC interview that "this isn't TV live.. I speak to the audience like they're my friends.. to give them what they want is condescending ."
Without a doubt ahead of his time. I’ve listened to quite a bit of his routines and 20-30 years before it happened he’s hit the nail on it’s head. Hope y’all have a good day
He was so much more than just a comedian. It seems that the truly great, much like the list of people he named in the beginning, are only afforded a short amount of time on this earth to bless us with their gifts.
***** thanks for liking my completely different and unique version of the Google+ anonymous image. It took a lot of time to make it closer to my item likeness and reflect my personality. Sometimes I think it sticks out TOO much against ask the other people with no pic. Maybe I'll change the colour or add a hat.
salted crypts George Carlin was a better misanthrope comic that Hicks. Hicks delivery is kinda a slow, and this material has a bunch of dated references compared to Carlin
@Where Is Waldo Doubtful. He would probably have too much disdain for gamers to be into anything involving gaming terminology. Honestly, I can't see him being into memes, they're fad-like by nature and he was an adamant nonconformist.
@Where Is Waldo Yeah, but internet memes are almost all completely fabricated and forced, very few of them actually become the units of cultural information that Dawkins intended when he coined the term. Sheep as blind followers goes back centuries. The NPC meme will probably be dead this time next year like any other fad. The NPC meme itself would look like the New Kids to him.
He might have actually been okay with it, because it was a giant joke, just like the song. All I'm saying is that I don't see something like a Cobainroll catching on.
The funniest comedian ever was George Carlin. Go watch some of the videos of Carlin and tell me the audience isn't laughing a lot harder than anything Hicks ever said on stage.
@@paulmcdonough1093 SIR Ken Dodd, that is. He was a sweetheart of a guy who the British people adored and made people laugh. Much nicer & classier a guy than Bill Hicks ever was, that's for f'in sure.
Hicks saw the world as it is, and could reiterated his perspective in a most stinging and affecting way that brought you right up to the front seat...Kman
I'm sorry I never heard of Bill Hicks while he was alive.....don't know why, but I suspect he wasn't exactly a regular on late night talk shows.......I'd put him in the same league as Carlin......
Another Dead Hero. We Love You Bill. Those Who Burn Twice As Bright, Burn Half As Long. Your Words Still Ring True And Will Throughout Time. R.I.P My Brother.
It's kinda ironic that most of his biggest fans, missed his greatest and most profound message, "There is no death" , the origin of the word "die" indicated that it was at first a NOUNE, NOT a VERB, and all it meant was "outside of perception". Perception is limited and based on our fundamental believes. In this world but not off it " - Jesus Crist. I can only conclude that Bill had the same idea, and to be honest so do I. Home is where heart is, and the heart knows that the world out there is unnatural, and backwards, a power struggle and therefore best accepted as "Just a Ride", Bill's words. This is logical interpretation of something that makes no sense, and thus definitely rings TRUE to me personally. A dream world in which technically spoken, that if you "die" you just wake up somewhere else perhaps in another space-time continuum. Once again it reminds me of the crucifixion, the crucifixion did not establish the Atonement, the RESURECTION did. And Bill without any other teaching or guidance, came to the exact same conclusion, therefore, Nothing Else really mattered. Bill cannot therefor be "dead", he's secretly still causing havoc elsewhere, this time below the threshold. He, just like Jesus Christ, and my self therefore included form part of infinite consciousness that cannot be destroyed.
When I get high all I do is watch Bill Hicks to stimulate my mind because it's a long stretch up there. And when I read comments like this, I just can't stop laughing. So thank you for the good vibe! Peace!
NomadicBlackRegent 1789 There was this "joke ", Q: Why is Dennis Leary a household name and Bill Hicks isn't? A: Because there's no cure for cancer. If you listen to Dennis Leary's( I think there's only one "n" in his name. I'd check. but, he's not really worth the effort), No cure got cancer the rip is evident. It's a well known fact Leary stole ALOT of Bill's stuff and he stole from others, too. It ruined their friendship. Bill once said he quit smoking, just to see if Dennis would.
Simon I am with you brother, if all a person can do is draw comparisons with Alex Jones whilst watching Bill Hicks, then you are not watching Bill, and your observations are tediously pointless.
Wilhelm Heinrich it’s a version of Michelle Obama for the people who never learned to read and believe that trust fund baby, real estate investors are anti-establishment.
