Folks pay attention because you may never see a better short bio of Tom T Hall. I’m amazed at the amount of accurate and relevant information Mr Skinner was able to include in such a brief time without seeming rushed. Tom T Hall was above all else an original. As is Jerry Skinner.
Tom T. Hall, a legend in the Country Music Industry. Forever in our hearts 💕 God bless Tom T. and his entire family. Thank you Mr. Jerry Skinner. For all you do to inform us. Your information is educational, interesting, historical. Keep up the great work.

Wow Jerry where the heck was I when that news was released? I had no idea Tom took his life. I remember my parents playing his songs and loving them and let me tell you he sure was a great great Musician and Country Singer. R.I.P. my friend you were one of a kind. God Bless.🙏🏼❤❤❤❤
Mr. Skinner.... Again another melodious video by Jerry Skinner. It is apparent that you like country western music. Again I say that your sweet Southern voice is the best melody that I have heard. Thank you for all the years of great videos.
Rest In Peace Mr. Tom T Hall, old dogs and children and water melon wine was one of my favorites. Thank you Jerry for recognizing this great artist. You brought a tear to my eye with this one. Loved the man. Thanks again Jerry, please keep em coming . Augie and Jill Blase, winter Springs, Florida🤠
@@JerrySkinner1943 I know he had a brother named Hillman, who was quite a good songwriter and singer. There are some Hillman songs here on YT. My favorite song of Tom's is Once Upon a Road. He also had emphysema, I remember as a kid both my grandpas had that. Truly horrible and I can see that along with missing Miss Dixie, left him in pain so deep that it took a bullet to relieve the pain. I got to have a conversation with him back in the early 70s about the songs he recorded with Patti Page and how those songs came about. Thank you for this wonderful tribute.
@@JerrySkinner1943 Please see my comments above. I cannot verify how Hellman died. Per Hall's autobiography, pp. 173-174 his father died in a hospital of MI.
This is a wonderful overview of Tom's life and career. So well done with taste and accuracy. Thank you. It was fun to see the pic of that long ole limo included. When Tom bought that black Limo from Johnny Cash, it was considered the longest limo in the country at the time. Tom gave me the chauffeur's cap that the driver wore, and it's among my treasured items.
It was back in the sixties, my wife had left me with our two baby's and i was staying in my van down by the Broad Run River in Manassas Virginia. The road also led to the small airport. It was late night and i was just drinking a beer before trying to get some sleep . A car stopped right behind me and a man got out and walked up to my driver side window. I was thinking i might be about to get robbed so i reached between the seat and grabbed a tire iron just in case. Then the man said hello, and told me he and his friend was parked in their camper at the airport and they were waiting for Tom T. Hall to get there as he was flying in . They were members of his band, and they asked me if i wanted to come with them and drink a beer while we waited and i would meet Tom T. Hall. I did go with them and we drank some beer, but i had to work next morning and Tom T was late. I wish i had stayed and met him, and kick myself every time i think about that. He was one of my idols and grew up in the area i was from. Daddy was a coal miner back then. Anyhow, that is my story. Thank you for this great video.
Thank goodness, I’ve had such a shit day. Then boom a ray of sunshine appeared in my notifications- Jerry Skinner dropped another video. This will lighten my mood, thx Jerry as always your videos are welcomed and very well received. I love this channel his voice is the best for narration.
Thanks Jerry, for this very professionally presented documentary about this very talented gentleman, a very interesting story but unfortunately with a sad ending. Take care my friend and all the best. Stevie
Thanks so much for this!!! Sneaky Snake 🐍 became my nickname from the time I was a little kid ,,he will always have a special place in my heart!!! Another amazing vid brother!!!! Have a Fantastic weekend!!!
Thank you for posting. I have a lot more Tom T Hall to discover. I bought a Best Of on CD,around 20 years ago. I first heard of Tom T Hall through Jerry Lee Lewis and his versions of ‘The Ballad Of Forty Dollars’ & ‘Homecoming’.
The fellow over Tom T’s left shoulder at about the four minute mark playing bass was also his band leader and tour manager, Jason Hutcheson. He is now, or was last time I heard, an Arkansas State Trooper.
Hi Jerry been watching your videos for nearly 10 years can you made a video about Frederic March or Sam Peckinpah in the future keep the good work Jerry.
What is 25 May?The dates are 1st,2nd,3rd,4th and in this case,25th of May so what is it with your 25 May,1May et all? There are no such dates in the English languge, not even in American and I am not watching any more of these with your date nonsense.
