I loved Dan Haggerty And Ben his bear . say whatever happened to Ben? How was it that Dan was never repkrted for getting injured by Ben? How did he escape from his bear claws?
*Fantastic Documentary!* I loved his character (and the shows themselves) in both, Grizzly Adams and The Dukes of Hazzard. I have the entire Grizzly Adams collection on DVD - and to this very day I enjoy watching them. _Times were sure better (for everyone) back when family shows like that was our primetime television programming._ Great video - thanks for making it!
Same here, became one of my heroes with Grizzly Adams then the Dukes. We don't have actors or shows that entertain and give a example to strive for and not preach at you.
I know right. My husband wqkes me up in the morning sometimes to tell me Jerry has a new video. I wake up @4 am and tell him play it. Jerry's videos are like my morning coffee. Gotta have it. I introduced my husband to his videos 2 yrs ago and now he's as addicted as I am. He's so sweet to. When i e-mail him or post a complement he always thanks me. He's definately a southern gentleman.
Mr Jerry Skinner, I really appreciate your videos, they're so packed full of information. It's incredible the research that you do, thank you for sharing them with us your adoring public.
🙆🏼♀️ Well look 👀 at YOU BEDFORD WITHERSPOON IV! You discovered her typo! 😱 You’re the only one!! ☝🏻 What i mean is, the ONLY ONE RUDE ENOUGH to POINT IT OUT. 🤦🏼♀️ You must be soo proud! 😬 It makes you SPECIAL! 🥳 Riiiight??🙄
You have some of the best and most respectful sites on the internet. I love your work. It brings back warm memories, nostalgia, and wonderful reflections on past times. Happy New Year, Sir.
Andy Taylor: "'Tearin' Up Yer Old Clothes For Rags'"...... "What key is it in ?" ... Brisco Darlin: "Don't make no difference, just grab hold and hang on and a 1, and a 2 .."
I loved this Jerry. I watch alot of older tv shows with my 12yr old daughter. We watched Perry Mason, Andy Griffith and an episode of Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. the other day and we saw Denver in all 3. So now i have to show her the Dukes of Hazzard. She didn't undrrstand my Uncle Jesse reference until I'll pulled some you tube videos up. You always deliver on your videos.
Once again, as expected, Jerry’s work shines with emotional satisfaction. Good job. Love the old photographs accompanying this story. God Bless you and yours in 2019.
I ALWAYS APPRECIATED his GREAT acting ability. Whatever show he did ...you knew it would be good because he was in it. Thank you Mr Skinner for another wonderful story. 🍃🌎🕊
I liked Denver Pyle on The TV show The Dukes Of Hazard just as well as he was a great actor on Grizzlly Adams . He and his costar as Nacoma. were a great to see come on at times on the set randomly. He truly us an Icon and is heavily missed by me. Thank you for another great insight into the stars we still view because of your caring hand. We all need to care for one another every chance we can.
This was absolutely delightful, and there were so many of the facts I didn't know. You are always uploading the BEST VIDEOS... Wishing you a Happy, Prosperous, and Safe New Year's...
These presentations are so enjoyable. You handle each featured person with such respect and care. These are a beautiful way to remember why we loved these actors so much. Thank you.
Almost every weekend or most weekends I see Denver Pyle on MeTV in one western or another. He's always going to live on thanks to all those great shows he did. I appreciate the fact he liked being called by his character name "Uncle Jesse" from DoH because it represented a good man with the old values. A lot of actors shun that type of thing, yet he embraced it and his fans. Sorely missed...
I love the effort and true facts you put into these shorts. Your effort shows. Hollywood lucked out when Denver stopped roughnecking. His family had a real impact in the entertainment town. Thanks......
I absolutely love what you're able to do with all these documentaries. You have a natural god-given talent to bring people in and keep them interested in listening. Thank you.
Excellent video Mr Skinner!!! You continue to honor these fine actors and you give us the facts, good and bad :-) James Best lived just down the road from us in Hickory NC, he spent the last years of his life helping young actors and was a huge supporter of our local theater. These good men deserved to be remembered, thank you :-)
Mr. Skinner. Your video's are compiled with such respect and grace. You momentarily transport us to a time of caring, empathy and a world that seemed to care. Respect and God bless you for all your hard work and compassion. Greetings from Cornwall.
My husband and I were talking about Denver Pyle just the other day. I was wondering if he was ever a little boy! He always seemed older in all his shows. We were also talking about which character actor had the most parts; we were thinking maybe it was Denver Pyle; he sure played in a bunch of shows. Thank so much Mr. Skinner; love watching your documentaries.
Most enjoyable, Jerry I grew up 2 houses from Denver Pyle's dad, Ben in Stockton, Ca. Mr. Pyle (Ben) was a wonderful kind man like his son, Denver. As you mention in your documentary Mr, Pyle told me he had named his son Denver after the Capital'. I spent many hours listening to Mr. Pyle stories and now wish I had written them down. Thank you for the memories.
In the 1980s Denver was a guest at the CM Russell Art show in Great Falls Montana.. He was dressed as the Mountain Man from Grizzly Adams... I met him in the halls of the show..and he shook my hand... What an amazing person and even more amazing actor he was... Man I miss people like him in today's movies...
Thank you for taking me back in time wen my granddad and dad would watch most of the films mentioned wonderful memories have a great new year all the best Michelle UK
Bravo! one of your best. Denver Pyle was and is still beloved. I have to say , his MAD JACK part was the best. And he helped make the show Grizzly Addams one of the best most wholesome shows to ever be put on TV
Great episode. I've also seen a very young Denver Pyle in an old Hopalong Cassidy episode. I also enjoyed watch Denver in many episodes of Bonanza. Thank you & kind regards from Adelaide, South Australia 🇦🇺.

You always make such amazing documentaries but I loved this one the best as Denver was a big part of my life growing up as both Mad Jack and Uncle Jessie. I was 10 the first year Grizzly Adams hit the screen. Thank you so much, I really enjoyed this walk down memory lane. I would like to wish yourself and your Family all the best and I hope you have a happy and healthy 2019. xx
Jerry you did that beautifully as always. I thank you so much for all the work you put into these videos and for sharing them with us all. Each one is a gem and very interesting. I hope 2019 will be a good one for you and your family. Big hugs xx
He played in John Wayne's Alamo. I met him once at the 'Italian Festival' in Italy, Tx. My band was playing for the folks there. He was soft spoken and friendly!
Dukes of Hazzard was my favorite show as a kid. I have the dvd set of all 7 seasons. I always liked the Uncle Jesse Charicter Denver played.. He was a great actor . R.i.p. Denver pyle.
Thanks for another great video, Jerry! Denver was a talented actor, and played a lot of great characters, but Briscoe Darling will always be my fav...More power to ya! LOL
Thanks so much for this video. It's new year's Eve here in Ireland and I'm so happy to listen to your voice and you're making me look forward to what great videos to look forward from you to in the new year. I hope 2019 is a great year for you and your family! 😘
I knew I had seen that face in all of the westerns it seemed. Even so, I never made that connection when he was uncle Jesse on Dukes of Hazzard. This video put that together for me, and brought fun memories of that very funny TV show. Fascinating biography. Good video.
