Chloe is like that. Sad the others think like that too. We all love the club and wish we could be in the Kop. Who's to say we wouldn't be very similar as fans at a competitive match, anywhere else in the world

The champions league final being in Europe is an absolute must. What a load of rubbish Dan suggesting that it doesn’t matter. Of course it matters that’s it’s in Europe. The history, the culture, the integrity of the competition, given that it’s a EUROPEAN competition…

Integrity is irrelevant if there's enough money on the table. Man City for example

Another point not mentioned is the number of additional flights (both commercial and private jets) this would require. It would be horrible from an environmental perspective, at a time when we should be curbing climate change.

I think taking the charity shield game there is the best compromise for everyone. They get a competitive game of football where two high quality teams will play there best 11 to win the trophy. We we can make sure our league and champions league campaigns are not disrupted.

To play a primier league game in another country is a money spinner for the owners of premier league clubs Sod the fans & could Championship clubs be dragged into this money spinner??

I can get behind the T20 cricket format, that's good fun. American Football is far too stop-start with very little action spread across 2 or 3 hours.

Yeah I've tried to watch NFL but so much stopping, inane commentary and so much advertising and flashy side acts like cheerleaders and firework-esque displays that have nothing to do with the game just makes it seem so contrived

I’m not a tin foil hat man but the two opposing opinions of the owners on this subject does smack of a “well put it out and see how it lands.” A tactic if true I’m fine with as it means they care what the fans think but want to seek avenues of generating more revenue. Which let’s be fair is a big part of their job.

I love the redmen they are the highlights of my week when there no footy. However, for years every man and his dog is saying Trent can't defend. He would be a better off in midfield so we can be better defensively. Now we have the chance to play him there and now he's the best thing since slice bread at RB. Then we don't even play him midfield, when he was selected as a midfield over Jones and a snubbed elliot. What more does he have to do???? Liverpool we shoot ourselves in the foot with these crazy takes. But I still love ya redmen TV. YNWA

Even when you go to an NFL game, it feels like a TV show. You have a person telling everyone to get up and make some noise, competitions during ad breaks. There is zero tension in the stadium, people get up multiple times during the game to get beers and food. Super Bowl is a TV show with a sport squeezed in somewhere

Only solution I could see for this would be replacing the carabao with a continental cup where games are played internationally. It'd probably be more prestigious and make clubs more money. But I imagine only championship and PL teams could afford the travel and does Bournemouth v Ipswich fill a stadium in the US, Asia or the Gulf?

As sport continues to expand, teams will have to cater to the international markets. If you want to continue to receive the money from fans around the world, will need to give them more access, games, and opportunities for fans to see their teams play. Fans around the world are waking up earl/staying up late to watch games on TV or paying thousands on a trip to Anfield to see the Reds. Not a big ask for Premier League clubs to play a few league games in other countries.

@@hashshashiin.forsī Well said. An NFL game played pverseas accounts for 5.8% of their entire season. A single Premier League game, is half that, at 2.6% of their season. Playing two games outside of England, for competetive balance, is still just 5.2% of the entire season. English clubs also have the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and European Competetions to offset the lost revenue from playing a home fixture overseas.

Totally disagree with Chloe here. You want to be one of the biggest clubs in the world you need to attract a massive world wide fan base. If you can travel to Europe for a game you can travel to Boston for a game. Been living stateside for 16 years. American fans are incredibly passionate. American red here, I do understand what you're saying about pre season tours but Liverpool is literally coming to america this summer and is playing two games in Pennsylvania and one in South Carolina. I'm in Missouri and those are like 16 hour drives from here and I'm in the middle of the country. They are only playing on the East Coast, 3/4 of the country can't afford to travel to the games even though they are here. I haven't seen the reds live since we played roma in pre season in like 2016

I get what you’re saying but that’s just unlucky for you! I respect what you have to do to be a fan of the team but it’s unfortunate that Liverpool are an English team… that’s how it should be! Should never be any competitive game over there especially if it’s premier league related
@DonZeus_YNWA

What you guys at Redmen should not discount is that Football does not belong just to England and English fans. Having the first and last game of the season abroad would not be a train smash. Stop being selfish and thinking of just the stadium going fans, I'm all the way in South Africa and I support the team, luckily time diff is just an hour between SA and UK. Give the others a chance to Experience the EPL as well, or like the guys are saying, perhaps you play the Cup finals there, i.e Community Shield and perhaps the Carabao also. LFC can play at the least 2 home games in Boston and no one will die from that. Stop thinking inside the box.

Simply put Henry and Werner are in the billionairs club, after the Super League, we all should know not to trust a word that comes out of their mouths. Henry's statement is simply a delaying tattic so the Liverpool fans don't react. My view is Henry the billionair has no balls, but he has billions that means he can wait, and wait till big games are played where he wants them.

Look. I'm sorry. Madrid or Bayern will play a competitive game in the US sooner or later. Massively increase their fan base, and everyone else will follow. It's terrible, but you have to keep expanding, in this world. Take a look at rugby union. Entire sport has almost killed itself because it doesn't want to incorporate new countries. By the way, I think its the sadest thing ever. But that's just brutal economics! F1 is the best example for it working well. I remember the uproar of losing French GPs. Now, they hardly look back.

Premier league games cannot be played outside the league I’m sorry. I’m more than willing to have discussions about a champions league final (or 3rd place playoff maybe) outside of Europe. I’d even say having an FA or Carabao cup game in New York would be fine, if Wembley is a neutral venue I have no issue in Fenway park for example being one. I just can’t stomach a home or away premier league game being not at one of the teams home grounds.
