I remember Faith no more but don’t know too much about this band. This is the only song that Ive heard that I really like, haven’t really heard many other tracks by Mike Patton so not too familiar with any other bands he’s been. Wish I could find more tracks that sound like this. This track came up in my feed and loved this track after the third time of listening to it.
Whats with Ipecac releasing videos/songs of these older Patton projects? First Fantômas now this... Its making me hope that both of these bands are going to do something new!!!! Especially Fantômas, it's been way too long. And if they republished this video today like it says, why are there comments from two years ago? Confusing.
+Ryan Hoffman Ipecac Records is Mike Patton´s record label: Ipecac Recordings is the brainchild of Greg Werckman (former label manager for the legendary punk label, Alternative Tentacles, employee for Mercury Records for a record 15 minutes, currently operating Pick-A-Winner Management) and Mike Patton (former frontman for Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, currently of Fantômas, Tomahawk, Peeping Tom).Werckman and Patton had been scheming for years (in between video games) about starting their very own label, waiting for just the right moment to unleash their master plan. Ipecac Recordings is not about to make music biz history and execute a revolution (although one is surely needed) or bore you by waxing poetic about their original musical philosophies. But if we have to adhere to a "mission statement," how about the notion of being an honest, artist friendly label run on a shoe string with no outrageous promotional or production costs. This label is a home to Mike Patton's eclectic musical collaborations as well as a place where bands we admire have the freedom to release music they might not be able to, or want to, release on other labels.
Damian Delfino Yeah I know that. I'm just trying to figure out why they put a song off of Fantomas' first album on youtube earlier this year. It seems to be hinting at them doing something new.
mrvelveeta I'm not complaining, I'm just trying to figure out why they would do this. Like I said, its given me hope that a new Fantômas album may be coming.
So, I'm an idiot because I found the song to be quite below their standards and you are the one who considers this as "math rock" just because its not straight 4/4, right? Ok.
Dude, I just had the biggest breakthrough ever, you guys are egoist, it's all about you and your fear of hell and your prayers and your security. Boom, what a messed up religion. Count me out.
i truly adore the members of this band, they're my heroes, but this album does not stand up against the others. it's good, but doesn't punch near the heights i was expecting. bit of a shame but i know they'll do better in the future. can't wait to see them live hopefully!
