@@jontee4free About a streamer's insano brain? Hell yeah! About Disco Elysium? Miss me with that; it wouldn't work in any other medium than as a game, just trust it was done that way for really good reasons.

I think there was one skill check that would softlock the game if you continuously failed, and I think it was for checking a building with the revolutionary painting. I wonder if the final cut fixed that.

I thought the dice maker lets you redo checks?

Damn that sucks it sounds like you had a case of bad rolls assuming you looked for any secrets or dialogue. Hope you didn't give up and played a new save, but if you're not enjoying the game then save scumming would have to be what you'd have to do to progress

@@DaArcaneNinja this is why I'd rather play a game with hard yes or no on whether I can do something. Like New Vegas skill checks, if you don't have what you need you're not going to roll for a random chance to win. This extends to games like Xcom as well, if I fucked up placing a unit, and they get flanked they should be punished rather than spared by RNGesus

Just a warning, it might be worth waiting a few weeks to play it. The ps4 version has more than a few hiccups in it, even after a patch that fixed some of the nastiest ones. The devs however have fully acknowledged that it wasn't enough, that it is their fault and responsibility, and are currently working on another to get it to a point they are satisfied. I'm really glad they've brought this masterpiece over to consoles, and are working hard to make sure it lives up to the pc version. I'm not crying foul over this, the dev team is tiny. This game is worth the money, I'd just say wait until it's ready so you can truely experience it how it's meant to be.

A friend said the same to me too. They looked at the unanimously glowing reviews for it and essentially thought "videogame journalism back at it again". At a shallow glance, it looked like that to me too; like where's the gameplay? Turns out it was actually the best medium for this choose-your-own adventure, and it didn't need any attention demanding mechanics to keep me (or my friend) engaged. Shit is a chefs kiss

Actually not really. The game divides the political directions available to slip into the left and right radicals, ultraliberalism and moralism. There's no real political agenda fed to you unless you purposefully go in that direction. Additionally it also let's you steer clear from political discourse with some dialogue options and the only real "agenda" the game might have is a anti-war message because of the setting.
