Salty Pork I feel you. It seems like all the magic vanished nowadays as all video game developers strive to make their video games as realistic as possible, Tomb Raider included. A large part of what made the original Tomb Raider games so fun was that they were far from realistic. They had a certain kooky quality to them and I loved it.
You sir have balls of steel doing those diagonal jumps which have maybe few pixels room for error. And you do them casually in a two hour run. I would be totally and utterly devastated to have failed some of the jumps in Natla's Mines and Atlantis after all that hard work. Kudos to you! (I intend to start speed running this game glitchless, but I don't know if I have the nerves)
I've watched Ali Gordon's Single Segment speedrun (which uses glitches) of this game several times and while I think it's really impressive (being single segment and all) there were quite a few occasion (a few messed up jumps, not drawing weapons while turning etc.) that made me think it could probably be well beaten. I did not expect a single segment run that is GLITCHLESS to beat it. I stand in awe. I watched you practice the TR2 speedrun on twitch a while ago which gave me a vague idea how much time and effort you put into these kind of runs. You, Sir, have my deepest respect!
***** The collision for the trapdoors do not work. I'm playing the Greatest Hits edition. On DOS, these trapdoors open when you stand under them. I suppose on PS1 their collision is disabled from standing under them, but they do not do their open animation, allowing you to pass through them. I didn't consider it a glitch since you can pass through them no matter what. The only other instance this similarly occurs is the room where you dump the sand; If you stand under them the trapdoors open, but collisions do not update (I think). When you flip the switch, the trapdoors change animations, and the collisions update. So it's more a bug or developer oversight than an abused glitch.
Terrific job u r just missing one thing next time save the game at Midas' hand and jump on to show the Cutscene otherwise this was great I watched the whole video and have finished the game myself in 1:45:32 haven't posted it tho just done it at home also please do a metal gear solid integral speedrun as I love Ur videos
I'm not sure about a glitched run of this game as I recall some of them being very strange. I'll probably move on to TR2 next or do glitched secrets on custom levels.
