@@darkcat5823 That’s true. But it’s bad to change a character’s face midway through a series. If anything, the new technology should’ve allowed them to improve on the original design, not forced them to alter it so drastically.

It was used in the 2013 game, in the opening CGI cutscene. They may have dropped it because of the polygon count.

That's CGI Lara from the opening cutscene. I also like it alot and with they had used it for Shadow (given that it was next gen and poly count wouldnt be a problem anymore)

I was waiting for Lara to have her long ponytail get snagged on a branch or be grabbed by her opponents leaving her to cut it shorter . I remember seeing a screenshot of Lara in shadow where her ponytail just came to her shoulders

I mean og Lara braid is kinda uncomfy too but yeah hair in eyes sucks

in the PS3 and XBox 360, i think the scenaries got more attencion and detail than the characters. the landscapes look gorgeus on the 7th gen consoles but the character model paid the price in favor to mantain the hardware resources within the limits.

They took the voice actress' face from the definitive edition going forward (Camilla Luddington) it was a professional model for the og release

@@Pointman11111 I know that, but I'm talking about the og 2013 Lara Croft. She looks nothing like the marketing and CGI Lara Croft.

@@nunosa528 If they ever do another remaster of the game, they should honestly either bring that model back or port the Rise/Shadow Lara over with some changes to the textures to make her look younger (she has a scar that apparently she got from Yamatai that wouldn't make sense to be from the beginning of the game).

They can certainly build on top of the new continuity.. unless whoever hold lara IP now change its mind.. is still CD rights? The OG timeline is long, LOOONG, dead, and was Core to bury not Crystal Dinamics. The Last Revelation was supposed to be THE LAST TR title. The publisher pushed for a new title: Comes the tired Chronicles, were the devs at least tried to expand Lara's gameplay.. and finally AoD where they tried to make a more "cinematic" story driven game only to be kicked in the ground by the fans.. The last act by Core was the development of a remake of TR1..which was gutted by CD because they were working on a remake also. The LAU timeline was killed by CD because they thought LAU story was over, no more to say. It just continues in the "Lara Croft and.." spin off games which belong to the LAU timeline technically. I don't know about remakes of older titles, i would like it. They could, but i doubt they would just do a 1 to 1, and OG fans only want a 1 to 1 and nothing else of the first 4 games... soo little commercial incentive there.. According to Embracer Group's numbers the TR franchise sold, in all "main titles", 90milion copies. Of those, the Survivor Trilogy sold 40m.. in 3 games.. with TombRaider2013 the best selling title ever for the franchise at now 15milion copies.. compared to 50milions in 9 games.. Uncharted sold 40m copies in 4 games.. make of that what you wish edit. Grammar

It was only used for the CGI intro... my guess is that it had way too many polygons.

Why did they even change that? I don't see any issues with the model and it's plastered all over the marketing material for the 2013 game.

@@_MaZTeR_ It's because of the tech. They exclusively used Camilla Luddington as the facial motion capture model. It made it easier to capture her expressions directly. This explains why Rise is the best graphically. Don't get me wrong Lara is still insanely beautiful in Rise/Shadow. But the design changed from the 2013 original. I wish they would have kept that effort to look like these concept arts.

NO, Rise's face was the best of the Trilogy. Though I do say this highlighted face was great enough already and did not need to be changed.

I see that as true Lara too. She is based on Megan and not exactly like her. She is unique and perfect 😍 I wish she looked like that in Rise and Shadow

@@aidenphire9794 Yeah but the mod has some shadow bugs and doesn't have the other improvements the Definitive Edition has. There's just no justification that it's not available on PC.

I really hope in the next game she is gonna be way more confident, braided hair, double guns and cool gymnastic move, I miss pressing O and see her doing gymnastic.

No for a while I'm guessing. The two main studios, Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal finished up Marvel games within the last year or so. And while Crystal launched a new sister studio earlier this year who knows what they will be working on. Maybe we may get an announcement at the video game awards.

Her hair looked fine, if you want to look at ridiculous hair, look at angel of darkness.

@@sindelscat9336 lol you're comparing the hair graphics in 2003 to graphics in 2018? I prefer her hair in AoD to her mullet hair in Shadow... She just has way too much bangs in the front of her halead in Shadow. In 2013 and Rise her hair looked fine I'm not sure why the changed it.

Tomb raider 1-3 remastered is out now.

That's how many realistic characters are made or the easier route is to directly model them off the voice actor.

The Definitive edition, and Rise + Shadow, everything is based on Camilla Luddington. Better and more consistent.
