Angel of Darkness always stuck in my mind as one of those "what could have been" gamea. And now, thanks to you, we can finally see it live up to its full potential.

That Herbal Mix is a life saver. And you used it on that climb in the Hall of Seasons. I always hated that climb. You always had to be pinpoint perfect in how you climb and you could only just *barely* make it. It doesn't help that Lara just flat out stops at a certain point. 😑 I'd died so many times on that part that I was beginning to think I didn't have Lara "strong enough" for the climb or that it was just unbeatable.
I love the fact that you repurposed the item represented by those vials as herbal medicine to restore both health and stamina! If I remember correctly, the description mentioned that the item was meant to heal poisoning, because the item can be found in one of the level files that has to be loaded with TRAODSCU. Either way, I love to see these updates every time. 😄
Thank you for your work reborninshadows, you made TRAOD an amazing game. It was very fun and interesting to play, the story was so intriguing until the second half of the game when I felt that developers started to cut content. But after all Restoration project made TRAOD one of my favourite Tomb Raiders, the story and characters were so good, I wish devs could give Curtis more screen time
@@Potkanka @Potkanka the ingame one was supposed to be used if you got poisoned afaik (antitode) however the documents mention other types of herbal medicine as well
@@reborninshadows Ah interesting! It's possible the other types would look the same, just different colour? So they didn't need to create more objects before it was scrapped. (Also do you plan on Lara getting poisoned eventually? :D)
@@Potkanka possibly but who knows? I do actually want to look into poison as there are still poison related things in the game's executable so it may be possible to recreate it :) Some enemies also have poison damage values implemented still as well like the plants in bio research facility.
Stellar. Absolutely stellar. The last version I played was 1.2 and that was fantastic. Even 1.3 looked good but this…I didn't think it could be done. Congrats good sir. You've done the impossible and made Angel of Darkness a legitimately good game. In fact, this mod is so good, I want to review it and I haven't wanted to review anything in months. I just… I don't know what to say right now, I'm at a loss of words it's so goddamn good
@@reborninshadows to say I like it is a huge understatement. This has been a childhood fantasy of mine for 20 years now. Thanks to your mod, for the first time ever, I was not only able to beat Angel of Darkness from start to finish but enjoy it as well. If you ask me, this mod should be included with every digital copy of this game from here on out Tell me, is this the final version of The Mod or do you have even more improvements planned?
@@ContraWolf restoring cut sections from some levels, (attempting to) have parisian ghetto in one level to get rid of all the loading, adding proper cops to parisian ghetto that can sometimes patrol around the streets, fixing the rain density bug (already did this but haven't released it), some further tweaks to the LAU mode and other minor improvements
Part of the reason what made AoD feel so special too me, even if it was VERY frustrating, actually was that wall climb being nearly impossible to do without running out of stamina. Maybe it was also because it was my first game and I was only 11 lol, but still: Just in my personal opinion, having these herbs to refill stamina 2:46 takes away from the daunting atmosphere in that bit, but I guess maybe it shouldn't be that hard in the first place, idk.
Three years ago I decided to replay TRAOD discovering some interesting bug fix on the web and it was quite good; nowdays I'm downloading your updates cause I'm very curious to experience TRAOD once more! It's such a lovely, interesting game..
I hope you fix this problem when lara jumping to the wall she will do the hitting wall animation,i hope you fix it to be look like tr legend,and disable the fixed camera angle in this game,thanks for doing an amazing job ❤(sorry for my bad english)
maybe you could change the "ugh" Lara screams when running into walls, which could make her annoying, with a simple sound of hands on walls (like a skinny sweaty palm touching polished stone, which might play well with wood and metal textures too )
having a bit of problems. When i click launcher.exe. Nothing happens. No error. No menu. No loading. Nothing. It's just a defunct button. Not sure how to fix it.

Nice! I’ve wanted a restored herbalist for a while and now we have him. Is there a way to get a decent supply of herbal mixtures and still have enough money for the first scorpion X later? Obviously part of this would involve taking Pierre’s route.
there's a single area left in the game where you need an upgrade to have enough stamina (however even if you get by that area without the upgrade, you still can't progress without it anyway) so it won't break that area
I appreciate all the effort that's gone into this but I don't really get why you would want her to actively be running into walls. That seems more like a downgrade than an upgrade to me. But I love that you added that cut herbalist content back in! Never even knew about the stamina potion. That's so cool!
It looks like in the before footage, she will slow to a walk if you turn wrong and face toward a wall. In the update, she will continue to run so you don’t lose momentum and she won’t get stuck or come to a complete stop unless you *keep* running straight into the wall. Seems useful for all the times I’ve gotten stuck on the walls in quick moments, like when you’re running from the bomb and fire in the pawnshop!
I'm not sure what you mean by this, she won't slow down when touching walls anymore so why would this be a downgrade and what does it have to do with wanting her to touch walls?
@@OldObscureUnpopularGames yes, it's basically how it works. she will only come to a full stop if you keep running into the wall for some time, without changing directions, since that also resets the timer.
@@reborninshadows It's a personal preference thing at the end of the day. I just feel like it looks less realistic and the time it takes for her to do the wall animation seems too long in my opinion. But I get that it's a balancing act between playability and aesthetics. I guess my preference just lies closer to the aesthetics side of things in this case xD.
@@neon-kitty hmm I can understand that :), if its feasible to reduce the time it takes for the animation to play without making it annoying I may consider doing it in a future update but I'll wait for more feedback on this for now
Where do I report issues with this project, (I was IP banned on TRF for some reason)? - cutscenes are being skipped automatically - game crashes in specific areas, especially when saving and reloading
Will this update/fix be available to public? I’ve bought two PC copies of AOD and have them downloaded to my PC but neither one will launch the game past EDIOS opening logo :(. I’ve wasted money. It’s one of the only TR I haven’t beat!!!! Besides Revelations which I’m working on
it's already available to the public. also your issue is most likely caused by incorrect game settings or a related issue and this mod may not solve that problem on its own
