This is good, I like animated. You can do so much more for less and have a much more engaging experience. More adult animation is what we need

Honestly wasn't expecting much from this teaser but the animation is balanced, the character design is consistent, the art style is reminiscent of that comic book style used by Man of Action studios adventure cartoons with a touch of season one of Castlevania. Netflix miss more than they hit with adaptations but this looks like it might hit. I hope it sticks the landing, Lara could do with a win.

Castlevania, Cyberpunk, Devil May Cry, Scott Pilgrim and now Tomb Raider having a animation show. So many video game adaptations and I love it. Edit: just realized I forgot Netflix released a Onimusha trailer as well not so long ago. Also forgot Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, LoL, and Cuphead.

What's with the bow and arrow iconography? What happened to the classic two pistol approach from literally every Lara Croft video game?

Lara croft from the 90's until 2008, were the best versions.

I literally don’t get why she don’t dual pistols no more , instead given her a bow and arrow as her weapon of choice like she was the iconic, badass women dual that even inspired Black Lagoon main protagonist two hands ( I forgot her real name) I just don’t get it

It looks amazing and I hope the animation and story of the Tomb Raider series goes well. I love Tomb Raider from the games and films, and I'm glad they decided to make this and keep the Lara croft legend alive for more years to come.😊👍

I hope someday, a live-action (LARA CROFT) show series, will get made. If it does get made someday; I imagine it would show Lara’s beginnings, to her first exploration adventure, in her first tomb. In addition to (Lara Croft) discovering secret dark societies, and to discovering wicked individuals hidden around her. Plus to add much later (Lara Croft) comes across mysterious magical artifacts.

There seems to be a whole bunch of references to the 2013 game reboot by Crystal Dynamics and Square. Is this series basically going to be the story of the Survivor Trilogy? I thought they tried that with a movie in 2018 and it didn't quite work then.

And just like that any hype I had for a tomb raider show went out the window as soon as I saw Lara Fraud aka the "we have uncharted at home" version of lara croft.

This portrayal of Lara Croft feels quite different from the original character we knew. The focus on intense combat, especially with that impractical arch, just doesn't resonate with what made her iconic. Personally, I find it frustrating and wish they would do away with it. Who in their right mind uses an arch against guns? It seems nonsensical. Lara Croft used to be about exploration, relics, and solving riddles-an independent woman having fun in lost worlds. Now, she's portrayed as a savior, a hero, with a set moral code. It feels like the character has lost the essence of what made her inspiring in the first place. The emphasis on making female characters heroes and bosses, mirroring male roles, misses the point of what made Lara Croft unique. Perhaps the pervert marketing played a role in distorting her image, but all the women who played the classic Tomb Raider games understand what I'm talking about. It was about the freedom of adventure, lack of expectations for women, and independence. The new developers seem to have lost sight of Lara's essence. Additionally, the attempts to change her sexual orientation and introduce love stories deviate from the character's roots. Lara Croft was compelling because she wasn't defined by such elements; she was just herself. It's worth noting that no matter how the developers portray her, modders often depict Lara in inappropriate ways, emphasizing that the issue lies with certain individuals rather than the character design. The misogynistic undertones in the new Lara Croft feel more prominent than in the original. In the end, I'll stick to the classic Tomb Raider games that captured the true spirit of Lara Croft. This new direction may have its fans, but it doesn't resonate with me.

Love how the animation very beautifully incorporates the archers paradox in the arrow and the 3rd animation intro just has the arrow go in a rigged line hahaha. Bit of a jarring transition.

Drop the boring bow of the 2010s games and return to the roots. Classic Tomb Raider is by far the best. They had fun with Lara and didn't take themselves too serious.
