Same I kept listening to it over and over and even though as good as it sounds close to the original (He might of used custom sounds on the keyboard like the voice) you can hear MINOR things such as two notes missing in the harp melody as well as some others here and there but yes this is one of the best covers out there!
@@normanpebblewell5340 @norman pebblewell it's not, it's the SR-JV80-02 expansion. You can usually create custom splits on these sorts of romplers. The JV80-02 expansion is the same thing Nathan McCree used back when he first wrote it. He used a JV 1080 with said expansion but the XP30 has the expansion preisntalled so it's literally the same stuff.
5 stars all the way. Probably one of the best Tomb Raider performances on YT so far. Masterful programming, skilled performance, and great execution. Loved it, thanks for sharing with us.
@resseses I have sustain pedal. when i hold sustain pedal, sound will keep playing even if i release the key. I have made it so that sustain pedal wont affect to choir sound (before the outro)
I loved Tomb Raider. I found them pretty scary too, they felt a lot of the time like utter loneliness with a good chance of death but after a while the scariness would change to howling when I got stuck. One really sticky place for me was trying to swing a young Lara over a pit in Ireland while being pelted with stones by invisible thingies. It felt like I tried it a zillion times before I succeeded. By the way, I came her prepared to have a giggle but you played it beautifully and it's my favourite themes along with TR III Home Sound. Excellent. Thanks.
Oh man, I remember being SO proud of myself when I learned how to play the first 20 second part but I could never figure out what was in between that and the violin part that's... like, a minute into it. So thank you very much for help with that!!! And beautiful playing!!!!
WOW! WOW! This sounds exactly the same as the original. I have no words for this shoot great, wonderful, beautiful memories. You must have a very good piano and do this or keyborad. Big thanks for this!
Holy shit!! Dude thats freaking amazing!! I am like infatuated with tomb raider, and that is the closed I have ever heard someone play the theme!!! Bravo!!!
Wow...!!! Brought back a ton of MEMORIES !! Very well done Glad you took the time to post this.. By far the best attempt on the WEB!! no one else is even close!
wicked! it reels back those memories of getting to a vital part of one of the tomb raider games and this very song would sound, WOW I LOVE IT, HAVE TO LEARN IT!. fantastic, brilliiant, nicley done. five stars.
Wow, flawless!!! I was looking for a regular piano cover when I found this, not expecting much, and not realising it was a synth, just thinking it was a cheap electronic piano and likely a bad cover.. Then I hear it and I'm like 'wow, this guy's going for it' Truly top effort, the whole thing is spot on
Amazing job! It’s crazy how the effects are so similar to the original song. Maybe the synthesiser was already old and it had the same effects that were used from Nathan.
Still remember the feeling I had when I was A kid. After clearing a challenging area in the game and expecting something else to be up ahead. There would be a beautiful view and then the magical tune would play. Sounds weird but it's still kind of special to me.
No we get this. When you had time and contemplation built into a game along with visual beauty. Instead of the new shooter on rails versions. Miss the beautiful exploration side of these games
Wow...your piano skills are truly astonishing :) You chose like, the perfect sounds for the theme and stuck with the originality of the theme...in fact it's really hard to tell which theme is the original because this sounds so like it! extra credit for the choreography and sound work there buddy (Y)....Well it looks like my horror list has yet again found another project, man I soooo need to cover this, I have all the perfect sounds for this, harp/voice vocals/strings aha ;) thanks for inspiring me!
This is great, I LOVE how you used the same tones that are used in the original song, great job, I am trying to learn this as well, but without the harp parts and using a soft pad tone.
Holy shh dude!! That was beautiful!! Great job!! That was very impressive! You played it just like the original.. You are a very talented person! Great work.. ;)
Sounds great. I almost bought and XP-30 but turned it down at the last minute to buy a Triton le. I didn't realize that the XP-30 could do splits. Strings sound good. All the patches you used sounded superior or darn near it. And I had a keyboard expert friend of mine telling me that most of the patches on the 30 were unusable. Now I know better. I will check this keyboard out for availability on the used/ebay market. Thanks.
They used a pair of Roland JV 1080s which were simpler, rack mounted versions of this with more outputs and with expansion slots. The sounds were never part of the base synth, they're part of an expansion called Orchestral or SR-JV80-02. They'd have installed the expansions onto the JV 1080s back in the day but this here, the XP30 comes with that expansion and I think SR-JV80-05 or "Sessions" pre installed.
He is playing at .23 sec look closely.. he uses a petal to hold 1st note (obviously) switches split then hits next note with thumb... an excellent job !
