I agree with everything you said. This is my favourite ABBA song too, and while I love Tommy's old cover, this really blew me away. He outdid himself big time. This is not only better vocally, but also sang with way more emotions, which for me is the most important part. Little changes he made just added to the song and his performance. Every time I think I know what can I expect of him, he proves me wrong and exceeds my expectations

He shows respect to the original with his covers, whereas other metal groups seem to have a "look how cool we are" covering ABBA. This had creativity and he made it his own. Who likes a note by note remake?
You are so right! Exactly, there is no reason to make a "note by note" remake of an already great song. That's what I love about Tommy, he has an ability to understand this, and apply it =)
Are you kidding me? I always new Tommy ways a great contemporary rocker, but, the power, grace and pitch changes, he pulled off here are literally astonishing.

I have never heard a decent cover of this song, because, as others have said, it was so painfully created for those people at that moment; however, he's done it, by realising that you can't be half-arsed. You have to give it your full metal emotional cry. And he did. And the counterpoint at the end with the guitar - I wanted that to go on for hours.

I actually have the album his original cover was in, in a Spotify playlist. This is miles and miles ahead of that orginal one. His voice has aged like a beautiful and fine wine as has his artistry. Tommy is a vocal and instrumental beast and I ADORE IT ALL!!
LOL, great intro. As far as the song goes, I would never argue you position as ABBA Best Song. I personally believe that it is their saddest song. I can't listen to it without tearing up.

I am surprised that I actually liked this! I usually hate it when they try to cover this perfect piece of music. But this is different enough from the original. You need to have some serious power in your voice to live up to this song. And that guitar... ❤
