Tomorrow Same Time is the title track to my new EP which will be released in February of 2022.
Eelke about Tomorrow Same Time:
I wrote 'Tomorrow Same Time' thinking back to my youth, always being surrounded by the friends I grew up with. I see the song as an ode to those friendships.
Lyrics:
Pretty soon I’ll be the last one standing
Last one of the gang that’s still around
People came and went as always happens
But pretty soon now I will be the only one
Left in our hometown
Everyone left for different reasons
Some went off for work and some for love
Me I always stayed within the boundaries
Built my life and found all that I needed
On the grounds of our hometown
Remember all the times we drank
’Til morning light and singing birds
Ended yet another hazy night
We never even needed goodbyes
See you tomorrow same time
When you told me that you too were leaving
I don’t think you knew just what that meant
But ever since that moment I’ve been searching
And I can’t seem to find a single reason left
For me to stick around
Maybe this is what is meant to happen
Maybe it’s all part of some big plan
If so I’d like to know where this is leading
‘Cause lately I’ve been having trouble seeing
What is left of my hometown
But then my mind goes back to when
Loneliness was just a word
And there were certain things I didn’t doubt
These memories I don’t know what I’d do without
And remember all the times we drank
