My name is Eelke. I'm a singer, songwriter and musician from The Netherlands. Check out my videos and let me know what you think!
December was the first song I released as a solo artist. We even made a simple video for it which was the first video I put on this channel. I just thought I'd re-upload the song in this format so I can make a complete playlist of these for the Old Friend EP.
The lyrics are quite clearly about heartbreak, wishing to get back together with a lost love. Listening back to the song more than 5 years after recording it of course I hear a lot of things I would do differently now, but I still like the simple arrangement and the way I conveyed the feeling of the lyrics.
Lyrics
Do you miss me
Just as much as I miss you
I miss your smell, your warmth, your laughter
And most of all I miss the love that we once knew
When you were with me
When I was with you
I wish I could’ve done much better
But I know that I did al that I could do
And it just wasn’t enough to pull us through
And I know that you did too
When I think back on the good times
And think about the love
Seems like it’s been such a long time
Don’t you think we’ve learned enough
What we did was for the best
But now that things have come to rest
I think we might belong together
And I’m scared to death I missed my shot at luck
You and I were tangled up
But we put that to a stop
Now can’t we try to start things over
‘Cause I feel like time has healed all that it can
And I still feel like half a man
Baby think back on the good times
And think about the love
Does it seem like such a long time ago
Don’t you think we’ve learned enough
Don't you think we've learned enough
