After his first meeting with Tonio, Luciano took quite an interest in his development and would even go so far as to send personal messages of well-wishes when Tonio would debut with a new House or in a new role.
Special thanks to 007MasterCollector for posting the original. Find his channel at / 007mastercollector for great clips from Opera.

Only wannabe's gatekeep others from pursuing an area of profession because they're not good enough themselves to ever be something.

@@melilugs3536 no one claims that- but basing one s impression on what one felt attending a performance that was so many years before - likely many others followed - is not a good criterion for comparing voices. Good full voice singing with squillo and good phrasing. The smaller mistakes are easy to look over because the overall voice is well produced. Modern singers tend more toward a "penny wise, but pound foolish" style of singing, obsessing over particulars when the voice itself sounds weird, strained and unable to move well (in particular, they obsess WAY too much over dynamics and use weird, breathy techniques to create "contrast" far in excess of what is needed).

This material is gold for a singer. Pavarotti was a singer with great technique, one of my favorite tenors, from au string to light lyric tenor. But that his conception of the technique works for any type of voice

That sounded more like a purposeful tenor cry, but he definitely cracked the second time he sang "un altra"

when you are new with correct mechanism of singing high notes, which is elongating vocal cords, it is very common to crack, Pavarotti also says that he cracked alot on his passaggio and high notes before those muscles that elongate and tense cords got stronger and able to withhold higher pressures that are required for loud singing.

This student aint learned how to sing from Pavarotti due to di Paolo sings much more nasal and constricted voice later than even on this masterclass, while Pavarotti had real 'chiaroscuro'

HammondDER e avevo ragione .

A lot of the time students exaggerate body language when it's a new teacher or person they are not used to to make sure that they know that they (the student) understood what he said
