Tony Jaa in my opinion is one of the most dynamic Muay Thai fighters in this world!! Even though he's an actor from Thailand, he really does study the art of Muay Thai and uses it really well. That's why I think he is one of THE most dynamic fighters in Muay thai history! I just wonder if he'll ever star in a movie with jet li and Jackie Chan? Now that would be cool!!
I know Tony Jaa is a muay thai fighter, but I like to think my self he fights freestyle martial arts, I mean, no one does what he does! He is a mix of Bruce Lee(fist of iron), and Jackie Chan(acrobatics), that's what I think! Hes GREAT! Best until now but not better than Bruce Lee!
actually both Tony and Jackie Chan do their own stunts. these guys go all out and risk it all. I love the fact that he's fearless. almost superhuman. if he doesn't get seriously hurt, he will be a household name and best ever martial art hero. his style is definitely fresh and awe inspiring.
i know that i did muay thai for 2yrs under master khan and he taught me and few movies of muay boran and muay chaiya, there are alot of differents grappling techniques in muay boran..... but if u know tony jaa went to the college of Maha Sarakham College of Physical Education in Maha Sarakham Province...... that he learn tkd, aikido, and judo!!!!!!!!!! and many more
in north america its called "The Protector" amazing movie. this video doesnt even show all of the fight scenes. there are way more. they actually broke a record for the longest single shot fight scene. its like 4 minutes of constant action, hes running around in a huge resutrant fighting a bunch of people.
i love this movie tony jaa showed that he has more styles of martial arts than just muay thai, he is great, his speed, accuracy and power is perfection and his mixtured of penkak silat and also hapikido and tkd
brillliant compilation ! it was because of tony jaa that made me wanna start muay thai, id love to be a stuntman but i dont think i have the stones for it !
a differnce between this movie and ong-bak was that he did more tkd in this movie. ong-bak demonstrated more muay boran too. in the capoeria fight it's more tkd than mauy thai. love both movie though and can't wait for ong-bak 2. btw this is a great video. great music to the video. excellent.
I dunno if someone has understood some of his unique fighting techniques, like he doesn't rely on his own strength he takes advantage on other one's own weight, like he never attacks, he simply counters them! It's innovating, don't remember seeing anybody doing this.
They should really keep Tony Jaa's DNA in order to make a possible clone in the future, he's getting older and he hasn't shown us everything he can do! Why doesn't Tony Jaa enter Hollywood to make american movies, man that would be great, just imagine, he could play with Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Jean Claude Van Damne, etc.. IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES!!!
bruce lee was the greatest he done almost every martial arts going and he created his own plus he was untouchable with nunchuks ,tony jarr is trying 2 learn like bruce did
@whiteout130, premise is Tony Jaas character lives in Thailand and his people live alongside elephants. But one day 2 of them are stolen, his grandfather is killed and Jaa has to infiltrate Australias blackmarket of crime and violence to get them back.
bruce lee's base was off of wushu and wing chun. he added a ton of muay thai and fillipino styles later in life. tony jaa started in gymnastics, learned muay thai and later added some more of chinese style later. same combinations, just in different orders. either way, you are right though. bruce was way quicker. both of them are righty, but bruce liked to fight with the right leg in front while tony has the left leg in front
Tony Jaa doesn't know just Thai styles, he has quite a few other's under his belt. He said it himself that every time he's in a movie he's going to top what he done in teh previous and he'll have to use all styles in order to do it. Tony still might be a bit too young to be compared to Bruce but I guarentee sometime down the road he'll be on equal level.
certainly Tony Jaa has brought something fresh to the stagnant kung fu movie genre. The main difference between Tony and bruce is just filming techniques have got a lot better. My guess is that there is 10 guys doing Tonys stunts. See how many times his face is obscured through dim light or camera angles. I think the fight coreography in Tonys and Jet Lis movies are brilliant.
@D3AdLyStOmPy thats true muay boran was around before muay thai but muay that is basiclly a cleand up version of muay boran because since it was big in thailand they cleaned it up so they could fight in competition
