Jack Klugman said that when Tony heard that his wife was pregnant, he exclaimed, ""The machinery still works!'". Always a funny and down to earth man, much beloved by his many friends.
Tony Randall was one of the greatest american comedians of all time. Love the three movies he made with Rock Hudson and Doris Day. The best movie trio of all time.
If you haven't seen it, check out "Foolin' Around." Gary Busey, Annette O'Toole, Cloris Leachman, Tony Randall. Tony plays a butler and he's side-splitting.
Tony Randall's two kids, who are only about 24 & 22 respectively now, may hold the World's Record for being the youngest children of a World War ll veteran in America! I'm a child of a WWll vet & I'm 75! I have loved Tony Randall's performances since he did "Mr. Peepers" in 1952 & feel that he might as well have a few good final years & leave his fortune to a loving wife & kids!
He had a great life. He adored his first wife, she apparently was not able to have children. In his last years he found his new bride, had kids. Had a fantastic career for decades. Good for him.
They loved each other and their are two children now. It is a good thing. Imagine how wonderful an older man feels when he can finally have a child or two!!
Christopher Chu You guessed wrong not very street smart....... Jack Klugman said on Larry King that the wife was nasty and didn't return their calls after Tony died...... Jack was like a brother to Tony she totally snubbed them she was with Tony for the money
Christopher Chu By the way Tony understood she was attracted to the money he was no dummy....... Tony was brutally honest and as they mention in the clip she begged him to marry her so Tony was not in love with her either he knew the truth but was lonely after his wife died........ On the other hand I'm so happy he had kids and had a chance to be a dad...... By the way his kids are gorgeous and have a beautiful life
I recently saw an interview with Tony’s coworker and friend jack klugman. He explained Tony’s personal life: his first beloved wife died and he was devastated. He later remarried and was finally given the opportunity to become a father, although it was later in life. I’m glad Tony was able to move on from his personal tragedy and experience fatherhood especially before he died. He and jack were great friends to each other.
@@brando7266 Yes, in deep. Yes, I'm judgmental. I don't think gay men should create life, whether in vitro or the old-fashioned way, just to prove a point. Especially when so old.
I'm glad that Mr. Randall was able to find love again and he and his second wife had a good life together. What's alarming to me is why Cathy Lee kept bringing up Mr. Randall's first wife and death. After the wedding photos were shown, Cathy went back to talking about the death of first wife. I thought the segment was supposed to be about his life then and new wife.
I can't believe I didn't know about this. I always thought he was Gay. Even when I was a Kid watching the Show I thought he was Gay and Oscar was straight. Oh well, it's not like it matters either way. He sure does look happy and she looks adorable.
If they didn't have 2 kids, the "gold digger" narrative would be perfectly set up. That changes things a bit. I don't think this was "strictly" a gold digger situation.
@@Anna-rx9gm It's not true. Don't spread vicious rumors. They really loved each other. He made her laugh and feel cherished. She wasn't after his money.
I too will have an age gap relationship when she comes to me . been waiting for a long long time. so hurry up my dear future wife cant wait forever. So, i'll be waiting for my present from God to arrive soon. Until then, i'll just continue to wait for that blessed day to come.
not yet my friend. i know shes already born. The lord will bring her to me very soon. And we will celebrate her next Birthday this Sept. together.Thank you Jesus.
N o not yet my friend thanks for asking. i know she's already born. I do not have to look for her.The lord will bring her to me in his time which i know its very close now, And we will be celebrating her next birthday together. Jesus is faithful and blesses those who wait on him. Thank you buddy for your concern.
I think it's a disgrace and shows complete disrespect of one's heritage to change their birth name, unless when a woman gets married. If a woman gets married and DOESN'T change her last name, that shows disrespect to her husband. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the name"Aryeh Leonard Rosenberg"! Most likely the change was made as a result of pressure from a greedy Business Manager and or Studio, in anticipation of greater recognition and subsequent monetary gain?!
I'm glad he was able to find love again and have children. And I'm glad it was in the 90s when people seemed more accepting of age differences. Nowadays he'd be accused of taking advantage of her, controlling her, yada yada. Because apparently young women today are mindless idiots with no agency or autonomy. At least that's the narrative people like to push right now.
Tony Randall was great but apparently this chick was just after the money. How do you marry someone old enough to be your grandfather for the rest of your life knowing with certainty they won't be alive in 10 years maximum?
Ridiculous for people to pass judgment on situations they know nothing about. Tony was married to his first wife for 54 years. For whatever reason, they didn't have children. After she died, he was lucky to find a woman he felt comfortable enough to marry. Tony became a first-time father in his 70s! I don't care if the young woman married him solely for financial security, if they both benefited and got what they needed from the relationship, then it was a happy union, and no one else has a right to judge them for it. Tony's final years gave him the experiences of being a new father - they had a boy and a girl - which gave Tony a new purpose, though a senior! (Most elderly people wither up and die after the death of their longtime spouse). Bottom line, if you are sitting here passing judgement on him (or her), then you have yet to learn life's greatest lesson -- that it's too damn short, and you should take happiness wherever you can find it.
First of all, there's no fool like an OLD fool!
I always liked Tony Randall. In fact, i once heard Jack Klugman saying that Tony was like an old jewish mother and that he could sometimes become such a real drama queen, during talkshows. He was about 75 around that time and the lady host thought that it would be a compliment to tell him that he looked 50. But no! Tony said he looked more like he was 30 and that wasn't good enough to satisfy his overwhelming self-righteous ego Then Tony looks at the co-host, next to Regis Philbin, and he says that she's been saying all the wrong things, since the very begining of the interview, filled with wrong questions. How! rude can you possibly be, when this time, Tony Randall went a little bit too far off from the edge...! Thank you! RU-vid Johnny, Montreal, Canada
@@joeybaseball7352 He needs to go to Blockbuster and rent "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" and fast foward to the Phoebe Cates scene to see what tracking really is.
Time & again... Young girl marries celebrity for his money... "I'm young, he will die way before me, then I get all or most of his money" And the older guy actually think this is real & honest, but if he had a good time with the fakery, the some of it's OK I suppose.
47tooter Tony was a brilliant man all class people confuse classy smart neat with being gay in modern years but in the old days men were very classy sophisticated I loved growing up in the 60's and 70's it was magical so many great actors writers comedians so much fun I miss those days...... All in the family, Odd couple, Honeymooners, Twilight Zone, Taxi, Jefferson's, Good Times, Mash wow those were the days
@@jameshudson169 Tony acted like one of the gayest men I have ever seen ! Have you ever watched the Odd Couple ? just like Jon Cryer ! The show two and a half men is a carbon copy of the Odd Couple !
