History’s Battlers:
In this episode Tony travels through history to discover the ordinary men and women who rally against the odds. He takes us to 1820s Australia where he finds out how defiant female convicts challenged the penal system and won.
In the 1970s, Tony reveals the unlikely protestors who try to save heritage buildings at the expense of future jobs. Journeying to early colonial Tasmania, Tony finds the indigenous people struggling against abduction, enslavement and annihilation.
Tony travels to the 19th century where he shares a personal story about his forebears’ fight to survive in poverty-stricken London.
This episode shines a light on history’s underdogs and the lengths they will go to in securing a better future.

Nice touch to end with an homage to your own family's journey!

There was a book written in the 1920s about developing strength from struggle....It was called “My Struggle”...

I’m totally amazed about the Builders’ progressive attitude, especially back then!!!

So, does he eat prawns? Oysters? Snails? Mussels? You eat what you can get, and witchiti grubs are far more sustainable than prawns. Lol

I'd starve to death or eat grass first. 🤔

I found this a very odd episode. On one hand he seemed to be saying 'Fight for your rights' and on the other 'Tug the forelock and shut up' They didn't really explore any True Fighters, just a bit of a waffle about his own family. Who seemed to have had it pretty easy and been a bunch of suck ups. For instance what about the Rabbit Proof Fence? What abput Aboriginal children /Native American children, being snatched from their families to be 'rehabilitated' as white? What about the Lady Julian? What about the strikes in Mills, Mines; Women chainmakers? Oh, I forgot, he is a Sir now. That explains the old arse lickers saying how great the Etonians were That was the most offensive thing I have seen in a long time. F*ing awful So his grandfather couldn't box because he lost his wig? Boo bleedin hoo He could afford a wig?. My great grandfather was a ringleader in a strike for better rights, that got him banned from working in a mine again. Then they closed the pits. My great uncle walked the length of the country to find work for himself and his 10 brothers. That is fighting Tony, not Daddy getting his wig knocked off!
