As a giants fan, when he played I hated him. When dak took over, I hated dak for taking romos job. But that he’s doing the broadcasting, I can’t wait for any game that he does. It took me a while to come to terms with it, but tony romo rules and had always been the man
Romo was crazy underrated as a QB. I’m a Steelers fan and have always hated the Cowboys, but I could never hate Romo. Now he’s the best color man in the business. He’s the kind of guy who deserves success.
His only problem was he was on the cowboys look what's happening to Dak Prescott and the other quarterbacks.. You can't win on the cowboys LOL.. Something is off with that team and organization..
@@muzikmon2267 Its the Joneses they started all this when they ran Jimmy Johnson and karma keeps kicking them in the but. They continued their stupidness when they did Tony wrong fast forward almost 4 years later and look what’s happening.
@@alwaysopen7970 AND Miles Austin, Laurant Robinson, Patrick Crayton, Anthony Fasano, Keven Ogletree, John Phillips, Terrance williams.... all signed lucrative contracts after 1 year with Romo
True story: Romo was the only individual who came to greet the fans in Frisco Tx during a Dirk Nowitki Softball stars game. It’s a Cowboys fan who hated Romo, he was so respectful to us fans. He’s a great person
In 2006, I bumped into Tony Romo at the Galleria Mall in Dallas, just one day before he and the Cowboys beat the best team in the NFL at the time - Peyton Manning's Colts. At that time, he was possibly the most talked about quarterback in the league because he was just some undrafted kid that came outta nowhere and took Drew Bledsoe's job. My family and I were in the Cowboys Pro Shop, getting merch to wear for that game the next day, and Romo came into the store, which surprised us. Why would the starting QB of the Cowboys need game gear? This was what Romo was doing just 24 hours before the biggest game of his life: laughing and chatting with the dude at the cash register (found out it was a buddy of his), & talking to nervous 15-year-old me and signing my Romo jersey I had just bought for him to sign. That jersey is hanging up in my home office right behind me right now. Despite all the outside criticism he took in the NFL, he was cool, tough as hell, and was one of the few bright spots about being a Cowboys fan, which is admittedly extremely difficult. Glad to see he's getting so much love now.
Romo as a commentator is GREAT. He made Super Bowl 53 FUN to watch considering how much a defensive game it was. He calls offensive and defensive plays with ease. Best
@@eldadmulugeta7519 cause he's copying QB's that all have rings and he doesn't. He should've but didn't and its funny. If you dont get the joke then keep it moving.
Dallas did him dirty bc they had a terrible oline and defense for the majority of his career but when his body started to fail him they finally invested all those picks in the oline but it was to late. Romo’s year was the “Dez catch” year and could of been the year after but Dallas didn’t invest in a rb and stuck him with a washed up McFadden. As an eagles fan I loved it but feel for romo. He carried some terrible teams.
I've always been a fan of Romo (he won me over when he came back into a game against the 49ers after breaking a rib and puncturing a lung and won the game in overtime). He was consistently under appreciated, his 4th quarter and December statistics speak for themselves. He also has great character, which, in my personal opinion, is undervalued as well. But even still, based on his professional career, I think he's on the outside looking in at the hall of fame (rightly so, i agree with that). ...However, if he remains this popular as a broadcaster for a decade or so, I think he'll find himself in the NFL hall of fame after all.
Like two family brothers talking to each other. I mean they carried their conversation like normal brothers would answer to each other. Jokes and relative thinking finished sentences sequence. W O W !!!
I was never a Romo fan until he became a broadcaster. His football IQ is off the charts and he seems to be so down to Earth and likeable. I think he would make one hell of a coach.
Romo has a career passer rating of 97.1, which is the fourth-best in NFL history (minimum 1,000 pass attempts), trailing only Aaron Rodgers (104.1), Russell Wilson (99.6) and Tom Brady (97.2).
@@dfrancer ESPN had a nationwide poll once to ask if the Dallas Cowboys will ever win a SB with Tony Romo as their starting QB. All 50 states responded no, including Texas!
Yeah just freak athlete- plays pro golfers for $ . Taught his little boys to play chess . I played college ball ( D2 Wr ) had 3 Qb s and those guys were very special.
💯💯 absolutely agree, Tony was so underrated i remember the game Bledsoe got benched and in came Romo and ive seriously haven't missed a game since he became the starter the man was very talented and so humble I dont think he ever let it go to his head and you've gotta admire that. I've always thought if he hadn't gotten screwed with the dez catch no catch against packers that could've been there yr to go and then if it hadn't been for getting hurt in 16 and loosing his job to dak they might even went then cause I don't think romo would've gotten so far behind against packers in the playoffs that yr and could've actually beat them unlike with dak being a rookie and inexperienced at the time but thats not no harm on dak by any means cause I love him too but romos pocket presence was remarkable and I felt he was more accurate and read defense better. I could really go on and on tbh lol
@@mattleggett5609 he plays the Sahara State Line golf tournament every summer . Take a football and Sharpie ( he probably sign it , catch him between holes 🤴🏻)
I always loved my quarterback Tony! He is really humble. He actually liked my tweet back in 2016! I was so excited!!!! He’s so good at doing all these impressions! ❤️ you Tony!
Tony...thanks for the morning laugh up here in Edmonton Alberta Canada...Played pro hockey and I can see you are grounded...remind me of a teammate who simple was a good honest person...stay safe
I mean... Brett Favre is basically the living embodiment of the Uncle Rico’s “think I can throw over them mountains?” If you asked Brett Favre that, he’d probably tell you that he could.
To say Romo was hated as a player is probably a bit of an overstatement but he was generally disliked and widely criticized for sure. I would go as far as to say he was very underrated and underappreciated as well. Its so cool now to see how highly regarded he is as a person and a football mind. Way to never let them bring you down Tony 👍🏼
Tony Romo is such a joy to listen to as an analyst. He calls all the plays and can read what's coming next. He has great stories to tell and is such a likeable guy. Awesomeness
Not a cowboy fan , but was always a Tony Romo fan and always said ,boy if he had a better team and offensive line .he's a smart player. Proved me right with his knowledge as a football sports caster.
We miss you Tony. You are my favorite qb of all time. The reason I started watching Cowboys football after the triplets broke up. Maybe one day you can come back as a coach and lead our team to victory again. America's Team!
The brady was smooth. Standing real tall. I mean that O line he had in NE in the shotgun he could of read a book while cooking a grilled cheese sandwich in the pocket LOL.
@@joshuadorie9198 well he never missed the playoffs when he played full season(08). N went to 9 super bowls? So every O line he had was at least decent if not great.
Probably lucky they didn't get there 2 hours earlier or Jimmy would have started with "Tony do you remember those huge bong hits we took with Willy when you played with the Cowboys?"
Imagine if Romo actually had a top 10 defense at least once in his career, the dude literally carried the entire team when they were mediocre or worse. Not to mention the fact that for the majority of his career the offensive line was so bad he was running for his life. One of the best scramblers ever and my favorite QB of all time.
That 2016 offensive line was designed for him to win that year. But this is why I dislike the preseason games! You get injured and it ruins your chances at a great season. Love him or hate him, he’s such a great guy!
I'm from Wisconsin and just 4 years younger and live maybe 20 minutes from where he played High school ball and for whatever reason i hated him as a player in The NFL , i don't know if it's jealousy or what but he does seem really fun in person and is a really great sports media personality to the point where he will be remembered years from now more about his broadcasting then his playing and it's not like he was not a big name in The NFL when he played. Those impressions were so great and so glad i got recommended this video , thnx youtube. ( i did go to one high school party where he was at but again i'm 4 years younger and that fully changes things at that time in life so i never got to talk to him then)
TONY ROMO IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST ANALYSTS I'VE EVER HEARD!! he was better last year though because he seemed to be able to predict things before it happened and what was going to happen as a quarterback it was simply amazing. He was so accurate.. things that much because the information can leak out to the other team over the podcast somehow..
All non cowboys fans can’t hate romo. He was never able to beat any of them when it mattered. Best regular season cowboys quarterback ever. Playoff worst
@@Lab-Rat I’m a cowboys fan and watched my guy tony throw the 4th quarter interception to lose the playoff game. I’ve been at home for these last 8 months. Pandemic? Confused by your comment. Wasn’t well thought out as a slam.
Man I miss Romo as our qb. I wish he had a few more years in him to play...I hope he one day goes into coaching. Win lose or tie, Dallas cowboy till I die.
It cracks me up that his Madden video QB is Big Ben .. hey I don’t blame him . He’s so cute .. jimmy embarrassed him .. so funny ..his face turned red .. lol 😂 totally underrated as a QB ..
I love Tony Romo. More importantly, I respect him greatly. When Zak Prescott came up, Romo bowed out gracefully from the QB position and handed over to Prescott. Many older QBs have fought to the death to hold on, not giving the younger guy a chance. Not Romo. A true gentleman and a great sportscaster. Good for Tony and Zak. Sometimes, not often, but sometimes things work out for the good of all. Go Tony AND Zak!
