As a middle aged black guy, I'm not exactly the target audience for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, but I love this show intensely. It's some of the smartest writing and subtly hilarious acting I've seen in years and Tony Shalhoub's character is my favorite. I hope it keeps on going.

I saw him in so many other shows before Monk, so it is easy for me to not see him as Monk. He was even the lead in the short lived Stark Raving Mad, I think at least it was called. Quite the opposite of Monk.

I can’t describe how Much I love Tony and Monk. I rewatch it each week at least one episode 😂 it’s the perfect show to laugh, relax while at the same time enjoy a great crime, mystery drama. He’s the best actor in the world, the way he portrayed Monk is phenomenal.

I love Tony Shalhoub in everything he has ever done. He is such a gifted and diverse actor, and has a wonderful gift for subtle (and not so subtle) humour. I also think there is something to be said for a POC actor who can believably play Italian, Jewish, Arab, Greek, and likely any number of other ethnicities. He is a national treasure.

Umm you're right he's wonderful but these ethnicities aren't really different, they're all east-mediterranean. It's just a matter of accent and you can seem to be either one of them.

I live and work with a Jewish family originally from Lithuania that came here right before the Nazi take over of Germany. There was already trouble brewing from all the anti-Semitism, etc. They came here through Ellis island, the official processing them could not pronounce their last name, so he took the oldest brother's name and said to them; "this will be your new last name: Wolfe" I encourage my friend to change his name to the original one: Josephvich. I think it a lovely and distinguished name. When the "Muslim" ban was first started by Trump, I was so encouraged to see Jewish people and families demonstrating solidarity with the Muslim people and families, God bless us all!

So happy he’s back on tv!!! I’m sure he’s sick of hearing it but Monk was one of the best shows ever. One of the few shows of that time that had me laughing out loud. I loved the cast interactions (especially with his first therapist) and the acting and writing was superb for a mostly lighthearted show. Love it so much. Bingeing it again now. :)

Shalhoub was priceless in Men In Black as the pawn shop owner, the neurotic and obsessed businessman in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and of course, Monk. A real treasure. This interview was entirely too short.

No such thing as prophecy but there is something called “predictive programming”, look up Christopher Bollyn, “Project For A New American Century”, “A Clean Break”, Oded Yinon Plan, Wesley Clark 7 countries in 5 years, USS Liberty ( Trunews interviewed one the survivors recently ) yeah I guess those subjects are enough for you to go down the rabbit hole

Hello Tony! I'm quite sure you hear this all day long, " I love Monk" I had bought the CD's of all the seasons! I still watch them and I also watch you on the TV reruns. lol..lol..even though I have the CD's. I must admit, I haven't watched The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel as of yet, but as soon as I get netflix, I will be watching every single one, mainly because you're in it! I rewatched the first season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in preparation for the premier of the second, and Tony is just so good in it. The dinner scene where he a Kevin Pollak get into it made me think "Damn, there is a lot of talent in that room."

I was already a big "Monk" fan when I saw him and his lovely wife Brooke Adams on Broadway a few years ago in "Lend Me A Tenor". It was my first experience with live theater and they were SO GOOD--a wonderful, funny show. I really need to check out The MMM.

His character is totally different from Monk. He portrays the man as someone who is just as complex, just as compelling, and just as vulnerable as Monk. A truly talented actor who certainly pulls his weight in the ensemble that is “The Marvelous Mrs Maisel”. Makes me want to binge watch Monk... but after i finish season two and see how Tony fights the “Man” as a responsible adult instead of a hot headed kid.
