The wings are movable so the drive can change the cars handling as the track conditions change. As the track drys out they can slide the wing back. If the track has a lot of moisture and sometimes the moisture level increases if it gets cold when the sun goes down and maybe because it has been wet weather recently, moving the wing forward will help the car not but so much. Too much forward but will cause the front end to come up and moving the wing forward will help that. Additionally the cars can change the angle of the wing but I think that is a manual adjust, net they can't do while racing. At least it used to be. Also, it is my understanding they can't move the wing forward under speed, only when they are stopped or under slower speeds like a yellow flag. That's because there is so much wind force and the hydraulics are fairly light weight and can't move the because of the wind force.
At this level different tracks have agreements with different tire manufacturers. Hoosier is a sponsor for all TSR cars, thus the reason for the Hoosier sticker and Goodyear tires. NASCAR has an exclusive deal with Goodyear, regardless of location. They also don't allow sponsorship from other tire companies.
Can someone explain me why the big wing is moving? We do not have those races in France (to be honest we do not have so many good type of race and no V8...) I really love the V8 sound. And a big fan of Smoke. So please give some explaination or where I could find them.
The big wings are moving because the drivers use that to help either loosen or tighten the handling of the car. IE, if the car needs more rear traction, he moves it back, less rear traction, he moves it forward! Hope that helps!
Manu14Smoke wing gives the car down force they race on dirt and they can adjust the wing to how much down force the car needs they move the wing back and forth to get the mud off so it doesn't bunch up and they can't adjust the wing while there racing. The more up and down the wing is the more down force you get the more parallel with the ground it is the less down force you get. These wings are ran by electronics my car runs them manually so you set them by hand and can't adjust them on the go like they can
When theres smoke coming out of the left side of the motor when theyre at speed.. what is that from? is it from the "breather" and what is a "breather"?
shullln there tuning the car see how it's running, check tire pressure, make sure the engine is warm so they don't crack the block, or blow out anything, make sure they can adjust the wing on the go, make sure everything how it should be really they check all the controlls and test drive them to see if there running right you must not race yourself or know alot about these cars
taylor sheldon actually the block is not a GM it is a GM design they are all aluminum blocks CNC machined from a solid piece of aluminum, also the firing order and head design comes from a GM but most people use brodix or another aftermarket head
He definitely knew what he was doing, it was obvious he wanted to come close and give the guy a little “screw you” but yeah what can you do- he has to live with that mistake for the rest of his life.
